Things do not go as planned. Not only does Adam have to reroute his path across the nation, he realizes he needs to restructure his definition of success.

Each of these athletes appreciates different aspects of ultra running, from stage races in the Gobi Desert to the Tahoe 200 to finding one's way on the trails in the backcountry. In the previous episode of Extra Ordinary, we met David Risley, an ex-federal prosecutor who worked as an attorney-advisor for the Iraqi High Tribunal. When David finished that assignment, he was asked to help with terrorism investigations. Being located in Central Illinois, David wasn’t convinced the assignment would amount to much, but he ended up prosecuting one of the most significant terrorism cases in the United States.
