Welcome to Girls Who Grill, the premier podcast about all things pop culture! Every week Amanda and Neida get together to "grill" the juiciest tidbits of culture.
In today's episode, the girls grill Netflix original series and discuss what's wrong with them. We discuss Netflix's HGTVxTLC bastard child Marriage or Mortage, the Freeform knock off Ginny and Georgia, and the actually very good Teenage Bounty Hunters. Can good television still exist if it's driven by an algorithim? IDK, I guess you'll have to listen to find out! ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neida Teresa Twitter-scarlet bitch (@catholicmystic) / Twitter Tarot site- Thecatholicmystic.co
It's a Throwback thursday; on a Tuesday! This week, as we try to return to a more regular posting schedule, please enjoy this episode about astrology! It was recorded a little while ago, so our "on the grills" are a little outdated (we spend quite a bit of time banging on about Armie Hammer and the Super bowl lol), so just a heads up. In our main segment, we talk astrology: sun, moon and rising signs, diving deeper into each sun sign and pulling some pop culture figures who match up with them. Also Neida edited this episode so yeah... sorry in advance. ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neida Teresa Twitter-scarlet bitch (@catholicmystic) / Twitter Tarot site- Thecatholicmystic.co
The Girls who Grill are BACK... after an unplanned hiatus instigated by seasonal depression ^-^ In our first episode up, we start by discussing the Netflix series Feel Good, one of the few television shows on the platform (and lets be honest, anywhere on TV) about queer people and created by queer people. Then, we talk about our favorite TV couple whose chemistry on screen just ***ssssizzles***. No Leslie and Ben here; we're talking about couples whose presence on screen practically lights the room on fire. ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neida Teresa Twitter-scarlet bitch (@catholicmystic) / Twitter
~~**WARNING: SPOILER ALERT from 29:12-32:00**~~ Hello friends! Today's episode is a bonus ep where Amanda and Neida discuss the recent upheaval and race issues that have been highlighted in this season of the Bachelor. We also talk about our thoughts on the season so far, as we've hit the mid point!
We think the answer is yes! In our first segment, we take turning talking about very niche obsessions: Amanda's convo with the host of a survivor pod and Neida's four year long fascination with a youtube break up. Then, we get into the convo of the week about the show Community. What was it's cultural impact? What do we think of the characters? Is self-aware racism still like...... just as bad as regular racism (spoiler alert f***ing yes)? ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neida Teresa References about the youtube people Neida was insanely rambling about: Meghan Hughes and Finley: https://www.instagram.com/p/CJbZFzfjfqv/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Lexie Lombard: LEXIE LOMBARD
This week, please overlook the dubious pun and enjoy an episode where we discuss our ultimate COMFORT TV!! The shows that we return to again and again when we need a little warmth in our hearts (or, on occasion, a predicatable but cathartic cry). This episode was recorded a few weeks ago so their might be some out of date references but don't worry, the TV recs are timeless! Also Neida's audio is once again skunky this episode! We apologize but next week's episode it will be significantly better. ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neida Teresa
In today's episode, Amanda and Neida grill the first episode of the lastest season of The Bachelor. Amanda talks about how she finally managed to peer pressure Neida into watching the show, and the two discuss whether or not peer pressure is a super power she should hone for good. The show's a lot more interesting than anyone could have anticipated, but we ask the eternal question: are we here for the cardboard man, or all the hot girls he's surrounded by? We also talk a little about the race problems that have plagued The Bachelor since its inception. Finally, Neida tells a maybe only interesting to her story about her rescue dog Rosie. Disclaimer: The sound in this episode is kinda janky and we're sorry about that! We're still getting the hang of the whole podcasting this so pls bear with us but we promise sound will improve with each new episode.
In this, the inaugural episode of the Premier Pop Culture Podcast (TM), hosts Amanda Feinberg and Neida Mbuia João begin the first of an on going series in which they ask: Is this good, or are you just a man? Here they breakdown the perennial fave of all men everywhere, Pulp Fiction. In some places it's good, in some places, it's just men! Listen to find out what those places are. We also explain the confusing provenance of our very strange name. Does it make sense? Nope, not at all! But we tried to explain anyway! ~~~~****Follow us****~~~~ Amanda: Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/amandafeinberg/ Twitter-https://twitter.com/amandapandashow Neida: Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/neidajoao/ Youtube-Neidateresa
