In which the Mister joins me in reviewing MIRROR MIRROR (2012), from director Tarsem Singh's fantasy adventure from a screen story by Melisa Wallack and screenplay credits to Marc Klein and Jason Keller. A vain and ruthless evil queen (Julia Roberts) rules over a once-prosperous kingdom, keeping her beautiful stepdaughter, Snow White (Lily Collins), locked away in the palace while bleeding the citizenry dry with exorbitant taxes. When Snow White finally escapes into the enchanted forest and crosses paths with a band of resourceful, highway-robbing outlaws—referred to locally as dwarfs—she learns to fight back and begins rallying the oppressed kingdom to reclaim her birthright. As the queen attempts to secure her power and win the affections of a visiting prince (Armie Hammer) through dark magic and deception, Snow White must lead her newfound companions to overthrow the tyranny and restore light to the land. The film clocks in at 1 h 46 m, is rated R and is currently streaming and to buy/rent on Prime Video. This week we dive deep into the controversial, right-wing wet dream known as CITIZEN VIGILANTE, the newest film by Uwe Boll. Armie Hammer somehow returns to polite society to star as Michael Sanders, an American living in Europe looking to mete out street justice targeting various criminals that have slipped through the cracks of the failing system of law and order. Intro: “Necromaniacs” – Mike Hill Outro: “Street Justice” – Cro Mags
Meghan Markle lives in a false reality, Seattle shooting, TikTok murder, D4Dv trial, Bert Kreischer can't wait to drink, Nolan Wells enhanced audio, and a new Detroit podcast is on its way. Sad News: A family of 8 is dead in Grand Haven, Michigan. There was a shootout at the Bite of Seattle food festival. In Germany, some closeted ISIS turd attacked a Pride parade. A TikTok influencer was murdered by her estranged husband after calling him out for being a pedo. Bryan Kohberger claims he is innocent a little bit too late. Miley Cyrus sounds like a seal. Not everybody is thrilled with the new gig Lindsey Graham's sister landed. A 'Trust Retreat' at Netflix led to the firing of an honest employee. Be careful jumping off cliffs. Markleverse: King Charles has invited not-a-Prince Harry to Buckingham Palace. Meghan Markle embarrassed herself on MasterChef Australia. Meghan has an affinity for hot sauce. She posted an obnoxious amount of family pictures on social media. Prince Harry is bald. As Ever seems to have given up after a total failure. Poor Thomas Markle remains devastated in exile. D4vd might be up for the death penalty. His defense team thinks his text messages will clear him under self-defense. His Apple Music profile was apparently hacked. Charles Manson's granddaughter is the true victim. What is Jeff Stone up to these days? We investigate. People want Nolan Wells' white friends to have murdered him SO BAD. TMZ breaks down shocking new audio that means absolutely nothing. The WNBA is filled with controversies at the moment. Caitlin Clark remains hated among her contemporaries. The league is kinda one giant orgy. KTV is all in on WNBA dating scene. Angel Reese remains the true victim in all this. Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich were double Eskimo brothers. Spike is back! A Toxic Love Story on Netflix has quite the twist. Watch it. Drew still wants somebody... anybody... to watch the eBay doc. Armie Hammer's comeback has hit a roadblock. Kim Mathers is an absolute mess. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani doxxes wealthy New Yorkers. Some rich folks are leaving the Big Apple. Bert Kreischer can't wait to drink himself stupid again. He and Nick Swardson talked sobriety. You can get wasted with Bert on a cruise. Tony Romo was busted for drinking and driving. Faith No More is reuniting. Carly Simon has Parkinson's Disease. Uwe Boll is no stranger to controversy. I first heard of him about 20 years ago when he challenged his harshest critics to a boxing match. Well, he's back in everyone's sights with his latest film, Citizen Vigilante, due to it's politically charging nature. Some recent interviews only focused on the politics. Others clearly never saw the movie and just wanted to attack him. However, I wanted to treat Uwe like how I would want to be treated and we just talked. Turns out he's one of the nicest people I interviewed! Tune in as we discuss German food, bakeries, movies and more. Love him or hate him: Uwe Boll is always entertaining. If you're interested in seeing Citizen Vigilante, it's available to rent on Amazon Prime right now. If you're not doing so already, check out Classic American Movies on Instagram and check out my written reviews on www.
POV: You're the world's richest man, clicking the POST button on the platform you own. You've just shared an inconceivably terrible and violently bigoted film to your 240 million followers, catapulting what would've been a forgotten flop to the top of the streaming charts. The film is “Citizen Vigilante”, featuring Armie Hammer's “comeback” role where he executes migrants. It's directed by the prolifically terrible Uwe Boll, who once mercilessly pummeled his harshest critics in a boxing ring. For our latest movie night, Brad forced co-hosts Live, Annie, and Jake to hate-watch this travesty, enduring the pain so you don't have to. Erica Stanford says a VPN ban was never on the table. Barrister and Free Speech Union Council Member Douglas Brown isn't convinced. Douglas joins host Dane Giraud for a freewheeling episode on three stories that end in the same place: someone else deciding what you can see online. The Post reported the Government had been looking at VPN restrictions as part of its under-16 social media ban. Within hours, ACT and NZ First ruled it out and the Education Minister denied it was ever considered. But the select committee report on online harm mentions VPNs 19 times and recommends them as an area for the regulator to explore. Douglas explains what a VPN actually is, who relies on them, and why an under-16 ban cannot be enforced without imposing age verification on every New Zealander. Can controversy make a movie impossible to ignore? This week, Sam Whitfield takes a closer look at the internet's latest lightning rod: Citizen Vigilante. Directed by Uwe Boll and starring Armie Hammer, the film has become one of the year's most talked-about independent releases after generating fierce debate over its political themes, graphic violence, and unconventional distribution. Following heavy criticism, questions over censorship, and a viral boost on social media, Citizen Vigilante has become a case study in how outrage can fuel attention in the digital age.In this episode, you'll discover:Why Citizen Vigilante has become one of the most controversial films of the year.Whether the backlash has helped the movie reach a far larger audience than it otherwise would have. How outrage, censorship debates, and social media algorithms can transform a niche indie project into a viral cultural flashpoint. What the film reveals about the current state of free speech, online discourse, and the growing divide between mainstream critics and audiences. Why creators should understand the mechanics of controversy—even if they don't agree with the message behind it.This isn't a review celebrating or condemning the film. It's a conversation about the modern media landscape, where controversy often becomes the most effective marketing campaign money can't buy. Whether you think Citizen Vigilante is provocative, misguided, entertaining, or simply bizarre, its rapid rise offers valuable lessons about culture, censorship, and the internet's attention economy. And if you're looking for a thriller built on grounded espionage, compelling characters, and geopolitical intrigue rather than manufactured outrage, be sure to check out my latest novel, Vengeance in Venezuela, available now in paperback and ebook.Sam's Substack: https://samwhitfield.substack.com/Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/TheWhitfieldReport2nd YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WhitfieldReportReloadedKick Channel: https://kick.com/whitfieldreportSam's Amazon Author Page: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Sam-Whitfield/author/B00M1DNU88?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=trueSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4DIcoDO0BIDyuH7SWIsAB8?si=8c06106f817d4eebAmerican Instinct Pulp Adventures: https://americaninstinct.substack.comFollow Sam on X and Instagram @SamW_NGCFollow Right To Offend Media on X @RTOMediaBuy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/whitfieldreportThanks for listening to The Whitfield Report. We're kicking off the weekend with an absolutely packed episode of Breakfast All Day. Here's what we've got for you: BACKROOMS. There's so much buzz and expectation about this steadily creepy horror movie from 20-year-old YouTuber Kane Parsons. It's definitely effective in creating a feeling of unease that lingers long afterward, and it's a wonder of production design. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as the owner of a furniture store who discovers a sprawl of surreal office spaces. Renate Reinsve is his therapist who tries to save him. Check back for our LIVE spoiler chat on Tuesday at Noon Pacific at our YouTube channel. In theaters. POWER BALLAD. Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas co-star in the latest from writer-director John Carney ("Once," "Sing Street," "Begin Again"). Rudd is a wedding singer who never made it big; Jonas is a pop star who wants to prove he's a serious artist. A night of drinking and collaborating leads to a smash hit, but the credit is in question. We don't agree on this one. In theaters in limited release before opening nationwide June 5. THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU LIVE SPOILER CHAT. Here we go into everything we didn't want to ruin in our non-spoiler review of the latest in the "Star Wars" saga. It's getting wildly mixed reviews -- have you seen it? Listen and let us know your thoughts. MOVIE NEWS LIVE! Lots to talk about as always, including the huge opening night for "Backrooms," early reactions to Spielberg's "Disclosure Day," Armie Hammer's attempt at a comeback, and all the musical acts pulling out of the Freedom 250 concerts. Welcome to the strangest shift in late-night radio! Hosted by the one and only Walter Sterling, this episode dives headfirst into the bizarre, the unexplained, and the utterly unhinged. Welcome to the night shift with Walter Sterling, a show dedicated to the nocturnal "midnight misfits" and introverts of the world. In this wild episode, UFO and cryptid expert Dave Scott drops in to discuss the terrifying legend of the Dogman—a highly aggressive, telepathic, bipedal canine—and recounts a grisly cryptid attack at the Land Between the Lakes. The paranormal mysteries continue with explorations of the mysterious Black Pyramid of Alaska and covered-up alien bases on the dark side of the moon. Then, things take a very dark turn as Walter dives into bizarre elite cannibalism conspiracies, connecting Armie Hammer's unsettling texts to rumors of Jeffrey Epstein hoarding "human jerky" and baby blood. The episode wraps up with calls from the lifeblood of the night shift, including Jimmy, a 22-wheel dump truck driver, and Sophie, a former cop turned armed guard. Learn more about your ad choices.
