Some stories don't just inspire you — they reroute your whole calling. This summer, I'm bringing back one of the episodes that changed everything for me. If you listened to Fear Is a Liar back in June, you remember the couple whose testimony stopped me from shutting this podcast down altogether. When I was ready to pack up the mic and call it quits, their story reminded me why Building Strong Homes exists in the first place — so real people can share real God stories that strengthen all of us. Today we're revisiting Glen and Kelly Daigle's journey — a story that proves God can take the darkest diagnoses, the deepest depressions, and the most tangled pasts and build something stronger, steadier, and more joy‑filled than we ever imagined. You wouldn't think a breast cancer diagnosis would lead a couple into a marriage that was more joyful than they could have ever imagined, but that's what happened with Glen and Kelly Daigle. They had both been married before they met and were ready for a fresh start, having each gone through difficulties with drugs and alcohol. Glen had recently finished a self-admitted time in rehab for alcohol addiction and Kelly was looking for a man who'd been married, didn't have children and loved the Lord. Since Glen met all three requirements they dated and eventually married. But everything wasn't all rainbows and hearts. Glen spiraled into such a deep depression Kelly says many days she prayed she wouldn't come home to find that her husband had committed suicide. After Glen found help from counseling their lives were okay, but still not great. Neither of them had a strong relationship with God, they just did the bare minimum. Until Kelly's breast cancer diagnosis. Something changed in both of them as they realized the only thing they had to hold on to was Jesus, and they weren't letting Him go. There are so many ways that God showed up in each of their journeys that there's no denying the Hound of Heaven was pursuing them from the very beginning. If you feel like you've messed up so badly that there's no promise of hope in your life anymore, this episode is for you. Song that made such an impact on Glen: At This Point in My Life by Tracy Chapman Episode mention in this podcast Fear is a Liar Watch on YouTube No One is Too Far Gone for God to Use with Glen and Kelly Daigle Take the quiz, "What Type of Home Are You Building?", because so many women feel the tension in their home but can't quite name what's causing it. This quiz does that for you. It pinpoints the patterns shaping your home and gives you a clear next step toward the kind of home you want to build. If you've been feeling stuck, this will help you get unstuck. What if one weekend could breathe life back into the parts of you that feel worn thin? This October, I'm hosting The Flourish Retreat in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina — and I want you to come with me. If you're a wife or mom who's been pouring out for everyone else, this is your invitation to step away, exhale, and let God pour back into you. Find out more at the link.

Start Your Transformation Now No matter what happens to you, it has no meaning except the meaning that you give it. The very same thing can happen to two different people and it's obvious that each person will give it a different meaning…and reaction/response.The concept isn't new however, so few people live by the power of this concept. In this episode I talk about:[1:18] Various scenarios that each of us give different meaning to[4:09] Why you give everything meaning[6:05] The fact that you're a “meaning-making machine”[7:57] The implications of living from external meanings[9:25] When people are judging you they are simply giving meaning to you[15:48] What it means when people “die”[21:46] Why good/bad meanings lead to indecision And, like I say in every episode synopsis…a lot more. This concept has the absolute power to literally transform your life, yet, we have to integrate this concept and start working from it. This concept will set you free from the ups and downs of life.

This one is a throwback and it is one of the best stories we have ever had on the show.Joe Johnson spent over a decade inside dealerships across finance, sales, parts, and service before moving to the wholesale distribution side with Tucker Powersports, where he has spent more than a decade training parts staff and partnering with dealers to help them grow. He also hosts the Powersports and People podcast. Relationships are his whole game.In this conversation with Brian Croft, Joe tells the Elvis story, a customer experience lesson from his days running one of the largest Kawasaki dealerships in the country that every salesperson and parts person needs to hear. Then he breaks down the idea box, a simple framework for generating creativity and ideas in a team that feels completely stuck. No fluff. Just real lessons that still hit today. What we cover:How a distributor rep earns the trust to actually train a dealer's staff, and why that trust is a responsibilityJoe's approach to walking into a dealership and finding the real gaps, what he calls getting nosyThe difference between being an asset and being a visitor, and why that distinction mattersThe Elvis story: the customer who walked in looking like he came off the streets and changed how an entire dealership thought about judging peopleWhy 8 out of 10 customers still want to touch and feel a product in the store even after buying onlineThe three things a dealership delivers that an online store never can: customer experience, a source of information, and assurance of the purchaseThe idea box framework explained step by step, the tool Joe uses to generate ideas when a team has noneThe real-world example of how the idea box turned an ordinary laundry hamper into a multi-million dollar businessWhy most dealership meetings fail and what a productive one actually needsTwo books Joe recommends for anyone who wants to think more creativelyWatch on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@dealershipfixit?si=xGw636a89UUDAK20Connect with Joe Johnson: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joe-johnson-16b4841a6/Connect with Jacob: https://linkedin.com/in/jacob-b-berryFollow the Fixit Online: https://linktr.ee/dealershipfixitMotoHunt for Dealers: https://dealers.motohunt.com

So for my 50th anniversary, I 50th birthday, I turned in my resignation. And I've been doing Amazon and Shopify, Etsy, a lot of different marketplaces since then full time. And that's kind of where I'm at today.Josh 00:01:44 I love it, and Norm and I dance in the same space. Sometimes we might be considered competitors, but there's such a big marketplace out there that we were able to, you know, really kind of lift up, open the hood today and really dive into each other's businesses. He was able to ask me a lot of questions, and hopefully I was able to share some valuable insights with you, Norm. And that's what we'll talk about. Norm, we first started off by talking about, you know, what is your overall goal in in your business.Josh 00:02:15 Right. And what are the biggest obstacles that you're facing. So why don't you go ahead and kind of reiterate what we started our conversation off with.Norm 00:02:24 Yeah. So, you know, just taking a look, you know, I think I'm fall into the same category as most people are selling in the e-commerce space right now, dealing with more competition. things are constantly moving. you know, the economy is down to a degree. So I think in our space, we're, we're seeing, you know, some pullback on, on spend over the last couple of years. So that's created challenges, right. And you know, as we as we mentioned, I've been doing this for a long time, and I really had gotten to the point where, a couple of years ago and stuff. I really felt like I was out of touch that before. It was pretty easy for me. I really felt like I had it dialed in, and over the past few years, it really felt like I was kind of losing control.Norm 00:03:15 And a lot of that had to do with not having the proper dashboards and tools to be able to evaluate kind of where we're at on a very granular level. Right. Because it's one thing to see your big number and your paychecks and all of those things come in on a monthly basis. But, you know, on a product level, after shipping fees and advertising and all of those refunds and so forth, what is each product actually generating as far as income and what is really driving bottom line growth? And once I got the proper tools in place, really kind of opened my eyes that a lot of products that we had, it's like, why am I even bothering with this when it's all said and done? I'm not making any money. It's certainly not worth the effort on this. So we've really have gone in and cleaned up our catalog and eliminated a lot of stuff. A lot of exce...

Start Your Transformation Now Here's another in the “Five Random Thoughts” Series. OK, full transparency, I was pressed for time this weekend and traveling so I put another random thought episode, and given the feedback, it appears many of you guys are loving these. So, the five random thoughts this week are:1) When you run your life by emotions you'll find yourself in the ditch.I used to find that it was hard for me to follow through and one of my coaches pointed out, “You don't follow through with your commitments because when your feelings change so do your commitments.” This was a huge life-altering ah-ha moment. And, if you're not following through in life perhaps you are the same as I once was? 2) Your life is this way or that way because you tell yourself life is this way or that way.Life is a reflection of you. Kahlil Gibran once said, “Words are but simple dripping from the mind.” So, how do you tell yourself that “life is.” Exactly as you tell yourself will be your experience of life! 3) Mastery Is repetition and sacrificeThese are all simple and this one is as simple as the others but so simple many of us miss. What have you “mastered” in life? We live in a world of mediocrity and most of us have “mastered” little. Most of us just get by in life. The title is obvious, to create mastery in anything it requires repetition, and most of us get that yet what most of us don't like is that it also requires sacrifice. For everything in life, there is a price. And to be masterful at anything you must pay the price for it. 4) Changing your life is very simple but requires devotionChange is easy. Becoming who you are now was not hard. You didn't fight to become who you ARE, you learned it. Like the last random thought, you become who you are with repetition. It's EASY to do most things with repetition and where and what is your repetition? 5) If I don't have humbleness I lose everything. It took me MANY years to get this. I got it when I tried to quote what I was taught. “The common man is hooked to other men, the spiritual warrior is hooked to infinity. “ MEANING: If I lose mySELF in my ego and I then am not humble I then lose “who” I am, which is a spiritual being. There is obviously a lot more and humbleness is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. And, it requires that you place you either above or below anyone.
