ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Blood and Chocolate: "She's so cool." A vintage YA throwback. There are the books that shaped you as a reader, and then there are the books that change you as a reader. Blood and Chocolate is a foundational book for ACOFAE Laura, and claims the title of "First werewolf book she has ever read" so it was only a matter of time before it made it's way to the podcast. Set in a time, a place, a vibe there's no cellphones here as 16 year old Vivienne navigates the recent death of her father which forces her werewolf pack to move to the suburbs where only trouble brews. Isolated and appropriately angsty, Vivienne thinks she's found someone special in a human boy that has a taste for magic. Teenage love wars with pack obligations and loyalty in this standalone read that finds Vivienne struggling to keep the pack safe from outside threats and from herself. I have two special guests with me. We have my wife, Becca Hadley, and then we have Chad Franzen here of rise 25, who has done hundreds of interviews with successful entrepreneurs and CEOs. We have flipped the script, and he is going to be interviewing Becca and I today. So welcome to the podcast, Chad.Chad 00:00:21 Hey, thanks so much, Josh. Great to be here with both of you. So, Becca, what is it like working with your spouse?Becca 00:00:28 Yeah, I love it. I know almost every single person I talk to always says, I don't know how you do that, or that didn't work for me or were divorced or whatever it is. We I think it's been one of the best things for us. I think we had a strong foundation before we began working with each other, and it kind of started off slow. And Josh was working in corporate America. We were working together at night, but for us, it's been it's been fun.Becca 00:00:51 It's been our hobby, I think since both of us are doing what we love, it's very fulfilling and then even more fulfilling to do it together. I think one of my favorite things is just the opportunity to, like, travel together to different conferences like we've had so many like couples trips that are business trips. and it's been so fun. We've seen so many places together. I think we're also learning new things together at the conferences we go to and the things that we listen to, the podcast, everything that we do together. So I think it takes our relationship even to the next level, which is really fun. Now, that's not to say that it's always easy. We definitely have our frustrations or our arguments or sometimes, like when we're on a date. In my head, I'm like, stop talking about the business, let's be on a date. So it's just finding a balance and making sure that, like in our relationship that we have like family time specifically and date nights and business time.Becca 00:01:41 And for us, honestly, it has been an incredible blessing. I've loved every minute of it.Chad 00:01:45 So great. Yeah. Why don't we get back to that in just a minute? Kind of the the boundaries or whatever, like work and home or whatever. But, Josh, what are your thoughts on working with your wife?Josh 00:01:54 Yeah, I think that it's been an amazing experience. And I think that, like Becca talked about, it's Is important for us. I think it like has actually brought us closer together because we've been working on like a similar vision. Like I would say, like kids brings you together, right? You and your spouse together on like a similar vision of like, we want our children to to succeed, but also with the business. We want our business to succeed. And so it's been fun. Like I like Becca mentioned, like it was what was it literally a year after we had been married or like, yeah, it was one year after we had been married was when we kind of like got started into the business and working together.Josh 00:02:36 And it was fun. You know, we didn't have kids at the time. We had a child on the way at the time, but for us, it our kind of life looked like this. I would come home from work at American Airlines, and then we would sit down together at night. And at the time I could have a TV show on in the background and be all right with that. But we would put on something fun, and then we would just be working together and we would be chatting and saying, hey, look at this cool thing I found. You know, hey, you know, and at the time, we were working with custom wedding invitations and brides. And so it was always like whenever we got to sell or somebody paid their deposit or they got booked on the calendar, it was like this big win. And I'd go run over and tell them, it's like, we got another one. And it was just like an exciting time for us. And, you know, we would stay up late into the evenings until like one, two in the morning, just working on the business together.Josh 00:03:29 But we loved it and that's what our life revolved around. And and now as we have children because of the, you know, hard work, I think that we put forth early on, it's paying dividends in terms of us being able to be more present at their sporting events and having more flexibility in our schedule. But to Becca's point as well, like, it hasn't just been all rainbows and unicorns, not necessarily like there's there's friction at times. Right. And that friction, a lot of it comes down to, you know, are we on the same page in terms of like the vision and where we're going with the business, but also like in clarifying our roles? I think that's been one of the most important things, like if Becca were trying to be the CEO as well and she were like super possessive of like, this is my business, I have to be the CEO. Then that could cause a lot of friction. And I feel like that's what happens a lot of times is you've got a husband and wife and they don't necessarily clarify the roles.Josh 00:04:27 They're like, I want to be the leader. I want to be the leader. And then they both start stepping on each other's toes. But because Becca does so well a...

Magical Prague at Sunrise, My Cringe Oktoberfest Stories and Travel FitnessIn this week's episode of Winging It Travel Podcast, I'm taking you through three very different parts of my travel life — the peaceful beauty of Prague at sunrise, the chaotic hilarity of my cringe Oktoberfest stories, and my personal reflections on something I call “travel fitness.”I start with my recent trip to Prague, one of Europe's most enchanting cities. After a sleepless overnight flight from Vancouver, I landed just in time to experience something truly magical — the city waking up at dawn. With the sun rising over the Vltava River and not a tourist in sight, I wandered across the Charles Bridge, through the Old Town Square, and soaked in that golden early-morning glow that made the whole city feel timeless. It reminded me why I travel — those quiet, unplanned moments that make everything worth it.Then we move into a very different kind of travel experience — my cringe and hilarious Oktoberfest stories. I went to Oktoberfest for the first time back in 2014 at the end of my two-year backpacking trip, and to say it was messy would be an understatement. From falling off benches to accidentally soaking locals in beer, to somehow ending up cleaning my own disaster in a tent washroom — it was pure chaos. I also share what it was like to go back this year to meet some fellow travel creators, Chris and Sarah and Matt and Nat, and to see the festival from a slightly older (and more sober!) perspective. It's a funny look back at my early travel days — the mistakes, the laughs, and the stories that stick with you forever. Finally, I wrap up with a reflection on something I've been thinking about lately — travel fitness. It's not just about being physically fit; it's about having the energy, curiosity, and adaptability to keep exploring day after day. After walking nearly 27,000 steps in Prague, I realised just how much “travel stamina” it takes to be on the move — from early mornings, long days, and constant new experiences. I share a few honest thoughts on how I try to keep that balance and stay ready for whatever comes next on the road. This episode is a mix of reflection, chaos, laughter, and travel insight — everything I love about sharing stories on this podcast. Whether you're planning your next adventure, reminiscing about your own travel fails, or just dreaming of that next sunrise in a new city, I hope this episode inspires you to get out there and keep exploring.⏰ Episode Timestamps00:00 – Intro and what's coming up in this episode01:10 – Why Prague blew me away at sunrise03:20 – First impressions of the city and staying on a boat hotel05:30 – Walking Prague's empty streets and Charles Bridge at dawn08:00 – Meeting a fellow traveler and reflecting on Prague's vibe10:30 – Travel tips: seeing Prague before the crowds11:00 – Heading to Oktoberfest and meeting YouTube travel creators12:45 – Throwback to my first Oktoberfest in 201415:00 – The infamous “bench collapse” story17:30 – Falling asleep at a Bayern Munich game19:40 – My worst Oktoberfest hangover ever21:30 – Revisiting Oktoberfest as an older, wiser traveler22:30 – What I've learned from embarrassing travel moments23:00 – Introducing “travel fitness” — my personal theory24:30 – Why travel stamina matters on long trips25:20 – Tips for building your travel fitness before your next adventure26:00 – Upcoming podcast news and future travel plans

While Art Alexakis has always been the driving force behind Everclear, his solo work finally offers him an opportunity to create music solely on his own, without any preconceived notion or collaborative influence as to what it should sound like. On his debut solo album Sun Songs, Alexakis shares, "For the most part, it's an acoustic singer-songwriter type of album. It's not about making another Everclear record; it's about doing something that's just me."Creating outside of the Everclear realm has given Alexakis the chance to explore styles and sounds that don't necessarily work for his band. His solo work will push the boundaries of what to expect from an Art Alexakis composition, as he cites everything from classic country to hip hop, to the great acoustic singer-songwriters of the 1970's as major influences for this record. "I'm pushing my ability and pushing the envelope, and having fun at the same time," Alexakis continues. "I've always wanted to do something like this."The long-awaited solo record ultimately comes at a time of transition in Alexakis' life. The Father Hoods crew throws it back with Harlem's own Smoke DZA, and this one hits different! DZA takes it from the studio to the crib, breaking down the grind of raising children, navigating fatherhood with a child on the spectrum, and keeping it authentic with his kids no matter what. He talks about the early struggles of acceptance, the brilliance he sees in his autistic son, and the daily balance of being present while still taking care of himself so he can lead right. From no-smoke around his twins to a man-to-man talk with his eldest about bad habits, DZA keeps it 100 about the boundaries he sets as a Dad. He opens up about the “favorite kid” battle, daughters and dating (every Dad's nightmare!), and why transparency at home matters more than tradition. Mix in lessons on generational wealth, the inspiration he took from his own parents, and how he fell in love with rap, and you've got a convo that's equal parts Hip Hop, fatherhood, and straight-up life gems. What You'll Hear in This Episode: [00:03:25] Raising Kids the DZA Way [00:12:35] From Denial to Dedication [00:22:10] Time is the REAL Currency [00:24:20] Why Some Doors Stay Closed [00:29:30] The Dating Dilemma [00:37:15] Bag Secured for the Next Gen [00:43:50] When Parents Set the Example Why Rock With This Episode: The crew keeps it 100! Stories that hit, laughs that stick, and fatherhood talk you won't hear anywhere else. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.com**This is a THROWBACK episode from Season 3! This episode is more important than ever to understand and because it's so far back in the archive, I wanted to share it again for those who are new here or who missed it. I think this episode will be even more appreciated now in 2025 than it was in 2022.I am so excited for this week's show! Joining me once again for a second time is host of the ‘Christian and Conspiracy' podcast, Christan rapper, army veteran, father and devoted husband, JOSH MONDAYYY!Josh's podcast, @joshmondaymusicandpodcast , is one I personally listen to and look forward to every single week and if you enjoy this podcast, you will absolutely love his podcast! We've shared some of the same guests and I've learned so much from watching his show. One of the things that stands out about Josh is not only his ability to be a great podcast host, but he also takes it upon himself to be an educator as well both on his podcast and on all the other podcasts he's been featured on. All the links for his podcast will be in the show notes and I encourage you all to head to the show notes and connect with Josh on all platforms! One of the episodes I listened to on ‘The Christian and Conspiracy Podcast' recently was discussing elite Ivy League and high school secret societies and it blew me away so much that I asked Josh to come share the information with all of you! This piece connected a lot of dots for me in realizing how our school systems normalize secret societies and ritual abuse on an unconscious level for all of us in the form of exclusive school clubs and fraternities complete with initiation rituals.Because these secret societies aren't hidden and are in plain sight, the infiltration of secret societies into our education systems often gets overlooked. But I would argue to say that this is one of the most important parts of the Secret Society Puzzle to learn about because of the unconscious and direct influence they have on children and teenagers. The other staggering thing about these lower level secret societies is their massive influence on many people we see in the public eye all the way from sports to politics. They seem to function as gateway ‘clubs' to higher secret societies such as the Illuminati and Freemasonry while also offering preferential treatment to specific individuals that get placed into positions of power in our society. It's actually really wild to consider how overlooked and under-researched this huge piece of the secret society puzzle is. Josh does a fantastic job breaking down this topic and I'm really excited for you all to hear this episode! Grab a pen and paper and plan on listening to this episode more than once - this information made my head explode and I have no doubt it will get your wheels turning as well!CONNECT WITH JOSH:YouTube: @joshmondaymusicandpodcast Instagram: @joshmonday_podcast - https://www.instagram.com/joshmonday_podcast/Podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/07cJzde2nVA3lOA3W028dl?si=78X4dHCeRxm97Lj2GHGK0g&nd=1Music on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3Zjp6DPXfBVFfoBMC9p7K2Podcast on iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/josh-monday-christian-and-conspiracy-podcast/id1556257698CONNECT WITH THE IMAGINATION:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@imaginationpodcastofficialRumble: https://rumble.com/c/TheImaginationPodcastEMAIL: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.com OR standbysurvivors@protonmail.comMy Substack: htSupport the show
Your friend is back, late to the game, but back from a quick weekend in Idaho camping. Not just anywhere though, in a CEMETERY! Didn't have that on my bingo card for 2023. I apologize for the more “authentic” audio quality of today's episode as I am also sick in bed on this one. I'm looking forward to getting on the mend and back to you in full effect next week. Most people think success in life is mental, and it's not just that …it's biological or rather, neurological. Honestly, I've already created an episode on habits (neurological), however, I wanted to put a spin on it in this episode. Being 100% upfront, I'm passing through a nasty cold and hosting a house full of people for family vacation – 8 adults, 2 toddlers and 4 dogs, so my attention span is shot. However, I do talk a bit about habits in this episode and I make a recommendation about how to reprogram your habits. You don't get what you want in life, you get your habits and it's VITAL that you learn to reprogram your subconscious mind and your habits. I direct you in this episode on how you can do that.
Throwbacks are where I re-release old episodes from the archives. So don't worry if you have heard it already, as 'New episodes' will continue to come out on Sundays. To get some of the old episodes heard.~~~We have two interesting witness encounters tonight, starting off with Rich in Pennsylvania and his sightings of orbs of light in the early 2000s close to the Delaware River. The orbs would fly in an erratic motion, dip and hover above the treetops casting no light on the surrounding area, even though it appeared to be made of light. And then we welcome Alex from Northampton, UK and his unexplained incident that occurred on a stretch of the A45 in 1997, when he was menaced by a very bright light following him. Alex will also be sharing some of his paranormal experiences that's been going on in his house.
