Janice is a Nurse Practitioner from a small farming town in Louisiana. Two of the most important titles that she has held in life have been that of Mother and Health Care Professional. In February of 2013, Janice received the phone call that every mother dreads. Her worst fears had come true. She had lost her only child after 28 years. This is Janice's story of coming back from unimaginable grief and after losing her purpose for living. Janice's story is one of bravery and courage.

Joanna Sweatt has many titles including Marine Corps veteran, mom, wife and advocate for Veteran's causes. In this episode Joanna shares her experiences of transitioning into the Marine Corps as a young 18 year old recruit and teenage mom and then again, transitioning back into civilian life and finding her voice after a tenured career in the Corps. Joanna's story is one of triumph and transformation. Though her life has included tremendous challenges, including surviving sexual assault while serving in the Marine Corps, she has always found a way to forge forward. Joanna is a passionate leader who has now dedicated her life to fighting for Veteran's causes and creating opportunities to connect veterans within their communities. Megan Young has always been fascinated by different cultures. As the only child of a single mom growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona finding culture was not easy task. Through life's ups and downs including living through her mom's struggle with addiction and her mom's passing from the disease, Megan continued to find ways to march forward. She graduated college with a degree in Political Science, and continued to nurture her interest in culture and diversity. Megan was also in High School when the events of 9/11 unfolded. The changing world, the war in Iraq coupled with her enthusiasm and curiosity about the greater world led her to working with international populations right in Arizona. So, Megan found a way to meet and greet the world and learn about different customs and cultures right in her backyard. Megan will share her perspective on multi-culturalism, immigration and diversity. This story is about not letting fear and uncertainty get in the way of progress and personal perseverance.
