As a third generation Angelino, Hannah Einbinder reps her city hard. “I pledge allegiance to the United States of Los Angeles,” she declared proudly to Chloe on the latest episode of The Run-Through podcast, “I love LA from the tip to the tail.” Right now, Einbinder is making the rounds on one of her biggest press tours to date ahead of the premiere of Jane Schoenbrun's third tongue twister of a film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Einbinder stars as Kris, a young queer director, who is working on a revival of a slasher horror franchise. Prior to working on the project, slashers were a bit of a blindspot for Einbinder, though she was well-versed in the great horror genre and cited Silent Hill as the scariest movie she's seen.  “I see a huge link between comedy and horror,” Einbinder observed, noting that this film is as funny as it is scary, “I think that it kind of creates the same thing in the body, like this buildup of tension with this big release. I think that's why you see so many, like, comedians go in that direction. Like, you look at Jordan Peele and that, to me, makes so much sense.”  Along those lines, Einbinder pointed out that Schoenbrun actually has a comedy background and did sketch comedy at UCB many moons ago. The two of them became quite close working on the film, which like Schoenbrun's prior film, I Saw The TV Glow, is a work of autofiction and an allegory for queerness and transition. This film required them to explore topics of dissociation relative to sex. “I feel like many of us have not taken the time to examine how universal it is.”  Einbinder hasn't yet settled on her look for the premiere, but she is already considering how she is going to accessorize. She intends to visit a New York City based nail artist who uses the moniker claws by joy to get a bloody, slasher style manicure.  As a major Hacks fan, Chloe also brought up her favorite duo: Ava Daniels and Deborah Vance. While the show has reached its conclusion, she and Jean Smart are in regular contact and sharing memes. “She's absolutely out of control,” Einbinder said of Smart's meme sharing tendencies.   Einbinder won her first Emmy for the series back in the fall and when asked where she displays it, she sheepishly revealed that she keeps it tucked away. She explained that her grandfather was a decorated war hero and when he passed, the family found all of his medals in a manila envelope in a drawer. “And so I kinda figure if, like, if that guy's not putting his stuff out,” she said trailing off, “I thought he was so swag for doing that.” The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. The reason misinformation, and disinformation (false information spread deliberately to deceive), travels so easily may be hiding in plain sight.It hides in simplicity.And it's amplified by the very algorithms that reward content that is easy to consume, easy to remember, and easy to share.Yet despite how profoundly this shapes the way we think, most of us have never been taught the psychology behind it. Processing fluency is one of the most powerful cognitive phenomena you've probably never heard of, and given the speed at which information now spreads online, it's remarkable that it isn't common knowledge.If you've ever wondered why misinformation spreads so easily, why simple answers are so seductive, or why the loudest voices often sound the most convincing, this episode is for you.Because sometimes, the greatest trick our brain plays on us isn't believing a lie.It's confusing easy to process with true.This episode sits very close to my heart because I think most of us have an aunt, mum, uncle, friend, or someone we love who has been influenced by misinformation. Someone who has spent their hard-earned money, changed their health behaviours, or lived with unnecessary fear because something simply sounded convincing.The truth is, none of us are immune to it. Understanding how our brains work isn't about becoming cynical. It's about becoming better equipped to recognise when we're mistaking something that feels easy to understand for something that's actually true.

Ok - I talk about harp happiness a lot. Really a lot. That's because playing the harp has always brought me happiness. Sure, playing the harp is hard work sometimes, and I've had my share of frustration too, but for me the challenges are outweighed by the joy every time. It's the joy that keeps me going and I hope that your own harp happiness sustains and inspires you too. I mention this because I have a special guest on today's show and she positively radiates harp happiness. Her name is Alexandra Chang, and if you haven't heard of her already, just listening to her talk about her love of music and the harp is going to make you fall in love with her.  Alex is an electric acoustic harpist and composer and as you will hear, much of her performing is collaborative improvisation, particularly with the Rock City Falls Trio, a cross-genre ensemble. She recently completed a Jazz and Sonic Music residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity for performance and composition and premiered the work A Shared Woven Melody at the Jazz and Sonic Arts Concert as part of their 2024 Gather Listen Hear Summer Arts Festival. She was awarded the 2025 Art Connects Artist Grant. Art Connects is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts & New York State. She teaches at Rutgers University as an Associate Professor of Practice at the Arts, Culture and Media Department. She is also the co-director of Improv Spaces and runs the Improv Spaces Music Festival, based in upstate New York, with creative partner percussionist Adam Forman.  But before I play our conversation for you, I want to preview three things she mentions that give a more complete picture of her musicianship than just the raw facts from her bio. First, she practices the pedal harp every day. Second, she always has music by Bach on her music stand. And third, she's only been playing the harp for six years. Yep, I couldn't believe it either.  I will play a clip from one of the selections on her album at the end of our conversation. I want you to hear from her first. In this lecture, Lawrence Lockett, Jr. speaks about intimacy with Jesus as something that requires pursuit, attention, and protection from distraction. He says that many believers want to know Jesus deeply, but daily life, devices, and competing priorities pull the heart in different directions.He presents the message as a warning about “the allure of other loves,” using Exodus 20, Matthew 6, and 1 John 5 to show that Scripture consistently asks who or what has the heart. He explains that idolatry is not only about statues or ancient practices, but also about misplaced worship and divided allegiance.The lecture focuses first on the first and second commandments. He says God's command is exclusive: no other gods and no created image of God. He describes idols as both false gods and false versions of the true God, and says that people still remake God according to their own preferences, ideologies, or desires.He also distinguishes between “idols by nature” and “idols by placement.” Some idols are openly sinful, while others begin as good gifts such as careers, relationships, children, money, or ministry. The danger, he says, is when a gift becomes ultimate and replaces the Giver.A second section turns to Colossians 3 and the idea that idols are redirected rather than simply removed. He says worship begins in the mind, and repeated influences shape the channels of thought that eventually shape the heart. Christian change, he argues, is not mainly behavior modification but renewed thinking that leads worship back to God.In the final section, he returns to Exodus and Revelation to stress that God begins with grace before giving commands. He says Jesus calls wandering believers to remember, repent, and return to their first love. The message ends by pointing to Jesus as the image of the invisible God, who restores intimacy with God and makes lesser loves lose their appeal.

Hi-Five to you!!!____________________Thought that I'd share my super nerdy process for prepping tracks for a DJ gig or a new house mix. ____________________After I first buy and download a new batch of house music tracks from Traxsource or Bandcamp.I usuallv listen to them separatelv for a week or two. Try to get to know and understand them. As I listen to them over and over again, I imagine different combinations with my older house tracks that I have.Incorporating them into my collection.____________________If I'm making a new mix, then I'll start organizing them and adding a bunch of tracks that I'd want to mix with the new ones. If I'm prepping for an upcoming DJ gig, then I'll take the most danceable tracks and put them into one large folder. ____________________Usuallv takes me 4 to 8 hrs to choose and organize for each gig or new mIx. It's a therapeutic ritual and a lot of fun.It sounds boring, but it's not because I'm imagining the different directions that I can take the night or a mix. How do I judge how many total house tracks do I need for my gig? If my set is 3hrs, then 1 know that the avg speed for me is changing a track every three minutes.Other DJs like to play their tracks for 6-7mins each. Everyone has different preferences. So I know that I' probably end up playing 60 tracks give or take, within three hours. Then there's the issue of choice.Not too much or I won't have an overall feel or direction.That's why you see young laptop DJs bring a few thousand tracks and then are all over the place. Then I decide what I feel ike sharing. Track names will pop into my mind. So I go through the folder and move the tracks that I really love into a 'Priority' folder Then I go into a dozen rabbit holes. First, I collect evervthing into one folder. Then I make a priority folder and try to eliminate a lotThen I'll put them into folders according to energy levels.Mellow Vocal. Mellow Bit Harder Vocal Medium Mellow Vocal Medium Dubby Medium InstrumentalMedium level energy have the most ofIfI know thati won't be going harder, then nothing more to organize.Med Bit Harder HypeTwo more everv levels.Depending on the night or mix.Too little choice and I'm going to annoyed instead of having fun.So I give myself 5 to 8 choices per 60 tracks.So let's say the total is 350.You know how many tracks and how many energy levels you want to take them on.Choosing the very first track for your set. That's extremely important. Setting the mood and the expectation.Then just mix, sing and dance!!! Sharing your vision of house with your dancing friends.Interact with the dancers and try to surprise them with your combination choices.For house music. In this episode of Biographers in Conversation, Dr Judith Mackrell, one of Britain's most eminent biographers, chats with Dr Gabriella Kelly-Davies about her choices while crafting Artists, Siblings, Visionaries: The Lives and Loves of Gwen and Augustus John. Here's what you'll discover in this episode:  Artists, Siblings, Visionaries is the first major dual biography of Gwen and Augustus John, siblings who became two of the most significant British artists of the 20th century. The death of Augusta, Gwen and Augustus's mother, left the young children emotionally bereft, creating in Augustus a compulsive pattern of falling in love with new women, and in Gwen an intense, sometimes obsessive yearning directed at unattainable figures such as the French sculptor, François Auguste René Rodin. Judith challenges the assumption that Augustus's fame damaged Gwen's career. Instead, he was his sister's most devoted advocate and correctly prophesied that history would one day remember him as Gwen's brother. By choosing a dual biography, Judith could use both siblings as a ‘marvellous laboratory', tracking year by year the social, cultural and economic forces that propelled Augustus to fame rapidly while Gwen remained largely unseen, illuminating the structural barriers facing women artists. Judith came to understand Gwen's famous reclusive shyness as a form of armour, a deliberate self-presentation that gave her control over who she engaged with, contradicted by her ferocious capacity for emotional pursuit and sustained creative work. Judith describes herself as a ‘gardener' rather than an ‘architect' of narrative. She begins drafting the manuscript almost from the start of the research, finding that structure emerges organically, with serendipitous connections between the two lives surprising her along the way. For Judith, writing about artists means foregrounding the people, not just the work, asking how two desolate children became artists, and what the interaction was between their art and their lives.

   We may debate what degree the Supreme Court is compromised because the justices are under threats of violence from the left but it's very clear this court is affected.  Justice Amy Coney Barrett appeared in front of Congress and is clearly terrified to do her job.  This is unacceptable in America.  We'll play the sound clip and you can hear her pain.    President Trump is just toying with the left wing media as he teases an address to the nation Thursday night that he says is a really, really big deal concerning election integrity.  I hope the tease isn't better than the speech.    Congress passes the Sunshine Protection Act by a wide margin and now sends it off to the Senate where it will probably die thanks to John Thune.    If you missed the All Star Game on Fox, well, it wasn't about the game.  This broadcast was a fantastic TV show and celebration of American greatness.  It was truly special and we are so, so back baby.    I'm over the disaster that was Jerome Tang coaching KSU basketball so it's time for me to apologize to KSU AD Gene Taylor who is just a terrific guy and completely respected and admired by his peers.  Taylor has been named to another high profile national position as selected by other AD's.  Yes, I had TDS.  Tang Derangement Syndrome.  I'm sorry.     Spain advances to the final of the World Cup and now I"m rooting for England to knock off Argentina.  The final is Sunday and then we get a very nice four year break.   Our Final Final is a cruise filled with Americans that was turned away by Turkey and Egypt....  because it was a gay cruise.

I have presented on stages, sat across from hundreds of clients in person and online, and have shown up as the strong one, the leader, the one with all the answers.
