Taylor Lowe is the Director of Eagle U, which is a nonprofit youth success program that teaches students the skills that they need to get the most out of their lives. Having attended Eagle U as a student over ten years ago, she came back through the program every year since as a Team Leader. After meeting former President George W. Bush when she was 8 years old, she was inspired to find a job in public service. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Political Science and Communication Studies. While in college, Taylor was President of the KU College Republicans organization where she worked to engage young adults in political and social causes. Upon graduation, she was the Political Field Director for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins and then went on to be the Director of Government Affairs for the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. While Taylor is passionate about politics, she felt her true calling was to help the next generation of young people discover the same fundamental principles of success that changed her life when she first attended Eagle U.

Nicolas is a philosophy and pre-law student at the University of Saint Thomas. He also works as a tutor and academic coach for Staying Ahead of the Game, LLC. Nicolas has a very wide educational background. He was home schooled up until his high school graduation, he works with a wide array of students from different schools in Houston, and he frequently learns what some would consider "unpopular" subjects like latin, taxidermy, and 11th century epic poetry. Our discussion today covers topics such as formal education's role in developing morality, fostering a love for reading, and Nicolas' best and worst educational memories. As with most of Nicolas and I's discussions, we dive into the weeds, spitting out quotes from Dante to G.K Chesterton. I hope you enjoy this episode with a brilliant, inquisitive young mind and one of my closest friends, Nicolas D'Amelio.
