Let's talk family holiday traditions (peppermint pigs, anyone?), how they have evolved for us, and then chat about one of Marcus' favorite things: spending someone else's money. We welcome our very first guest to the show to run down our 2020 list of favorite things to buy this holiday season! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message

In this episode, David and Marcus reminisce about the good ol' days…ya know, back when we could travel. Things are bound to look differently for quite some time unfortunately. So, while you're cooped up inside why don't you join us as we explore what travel might be like down the road (pun intended). --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message
Saturday mornings for children today look very different than when Marcus and David were growing up. Content for kids has progressed well beyond the wholesomeness of Mr. Rogers, the silliness of Looney Tunes, and the cheesiness of Power Rangers. Come along with us as we discuss things that jump out as our kids force us to re-watch today's Disney and Pixar stories for the 1,000th time. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message
In this episode, Marcus explains why he has purchased an otoscope for the house. Join us as we explore our experiences with telemedicine and discuss why a "visit" with a doctor may never look the same. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message
Are shopping malls still a thing? Isn't everyone just buying everything online? How will the way we shop change the landscapes of our cities and towns over the next decade? In this episode, Marcus and David explore what they're noticing about the world of retail. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message
David and Marcus explore the concepts or racism and privilege through the lenses of their own lives. This is the start of a conversation that we hope you will explore in your own corners of the world. Below are some resources we leveraged for definitions as well as some places to look to for concrete action: Definitions were adapted from the Racial Equity Tools site JSTOR's collection entitled Institutionalized Racism: a syllabus is an excellent resource for further study on the topic Corrine Shutak's list—from 2017, mind you—of 75 Things White People Can Do for Racial Justice is a good set of concrete actions we can all take to work for change Finally, Oscar Perry Abello has published a collection of articles highlighting how black people are working to make change beyond the protests by simply saying Black People Have Been Building a Better World. You may not have even been looking, but you found us! We're thrilled to have you join us for episode 1 of Let Us Digress. Today, Marcus and I find ourselves at the bridge of the USS Enterprise, well, at least figuratively speaking. Working from home has us organizing the helms of our digital existence, building our battle stations, if you will. If the analogy is lost on you, we're talking about our computers and devices that allow us to connect in this virtual world. We find ourselves spending a lot of time staring at these things as part of work and life, so we've spent some time finding what has worked and what hasn't that we excited to pass along. And just like Marcus and I manning the helm of our minds' spacecraft, so too are two NASA astronauts...but in real-life. That's right, the U.S. is back in the space game and this has us very excited. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/letusdigress/message
