Ticked Off Tuesday has Jared in full rant mode, opening with gratitude for listeners and a reminder that while other podcasts take the week off, he's still showing up. He unloads on life's daily betrayals, from shower doors that spray you with freezing water to laundry bottles that refuse to clearly say “detergent.” Holiday gripes follow, including blow up lawn decorations that now feel like jump scares and Christmas playlists that desperately need a separation of church hymns and pop bangers. Listener complaints pile on with gift list anxiety, impossible parking situations, parents who can't hear through AirPods, and ads for New Year's Eve parties happening nowhere near you. Jared closes by spiraling into the modern misery of geo targeted FOMO and pitching a very specific, very pricey single person New Year's Eve dinner that honestly might work.Jared is on tour!

We had a listener call this morning with a very interesting Christmas dilemma. Her kids gave her a list of what they wanted for Christmas, but she found something that she really wants to get her. Is she obligated to get presents only off the list or can she go rogue?
This week, your cohosts are making some lists and checking them twice to prepare for Christmas. But instead of going through JCPenney catalog circling gifts like it's 1999, Clarissa and Kourtney are listing all the things they want as a couple of 30-somethings. It's a tough, unprecedented time out there and your 30 D&D cohosts realize a lot of people are feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. Grocery money, paid utility bills, a freaking break -- plus a few more extravagant gifts to try and get in the festive spirit. And they're throwing a Christmas Party in 1994 for Back in Time!Disclaimer: This is an entertainment podcast based on individual perspective, experience, memory, and opinion. Reality TV and celebrity Kandi Burruss speaks about her divorce from Todd Tucker, remaining a significant topic in pop culture, with Burruss publicly navigating the emotional and legal complexities of ending her 11-year marriage amidst custody and prenuptial disputes, even joking that divorce was on her Christmas list. In a news-packed episode, the Rickey Smiley Morning Show crew broke down major political, entertainment and cultural headlines capturing attention worldwide. First, the hosts discussed President Donald Trump’s escalating pressure campaign against Venezuela, highlighted by his announcement of a full naval blockade on sanctioned oil tankers heading in and out of the country in an effort to squeeze President Nicolás Maduro’s regime and force political change — a move that has drawn both domestic and international scrutiny for its legality and potential to worsen regional tensions. The conversation shifted to reality TV and celebrity life as Kandi Burruss’s divorce from Todd Tucker remains a significant topic in pop culture, with Burruss publicly navigating the emotional and legal complexities of ending her 11-year marriage amidst custody and prenuptial disputes, even joking that divorce was on her Christmas list. The panel also tackled Nicki Minaj’s latest controversy, as the rapper drew widespread attention and backlash for her pointed social-media comments about California Governor Gavin Newsom’s support for transgender youth, sparking debate on the role of artists in political discourse. Rounding out the episode, the show reflected on culture and loss as former President Barack Obama and other leaders expressed deep admiration and sorrow following the tragic deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, honoring their contributions to entertainment and activism. First named in 1972, the Alaska Triangle stretches from Anchorage in southcentral Alaska to Juneau in the southeast panhandle to Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow) on Alaska’s northern coast. Since 1988, more than 16,000 people have vanished from this area, and every year, approximately four people go missing per every 1000 Alaska residents. This rate is twice the national average. I was surprised when I first learned how many people disappear in Alaska, but I don’t need an underground pyramid or mysterious magnetic vortices to explain the statistics. I also don’t understand the need for a triangle since people disappear throughout the state, not just in the area outlined by a geometric figure’s hypothetical lines. However, I guess a triangle conjures up the aura of the Bermuda Triangle and suggests the possibility of mysterious forces at play. Many disappearances and other mysteries in Alaska have never been solved. Planes vanish, boats disappear, UFO sightings baffle military officers, and in one instance, the population of an entire village fled their homes to escape a giant, hairy, manlike creature. Here are a few of the stories. Sources: Conger, Cristen. Why has part of the Alaska wilderness been called the Bermuda Triangle? How Stuff Works. Gough, Cody. 2019. In “The Christmas List,” Pastor Robert Madu reveals the true meaning of Christmas by exposing how Jesus' genealogy is filled with people we'd often try to hide or overlook. While we tend to showcase only our best selves, Jesus redeems the broken and imperfect, proving that the nativity scene is just a glimpse of a far greater story. For anyone who feels disqualified, the message is clear: God can use anyone. Grace does not work around humanity, it works through humanity. Thank you for partnering with Social Dallas! Normally, when one of the Ladies asks a Big Question, the answer ends up being exploratory and open-ended — but not today. Today, Erin isn't asking. She's telling. It's Erin's Soapbox: The Internet Ruined Christmas Lists. In this episode, Erin compares the traditional handwritten Christmas list (with its general descriptions of needs and wants) to the modern Amazon wish list (with its detailed prescriptions for specific gifts, right down to the desired size, pattern, and color) and finds that there is really no comparison. “Part of what happens with an old-fashioned Christmas list is relational,” says Erin. “The person giving the gift gets to really consider what they know about the person they are selecting a gift for, and consider what they would enjoy. And the receiver gets to learn something about the person who gave it.” Amazon and other online wish lists, by contrast, are transactional, require (and allow) no creativity, and do little to enhance relationships. Throughout the conversation, Erin, Sarah, and Rachel all share stories about good, bad, and sometimes highly idiosyncratic Christmas wish list experiences and offer practical tips for how to craft — and shop from — a well-made Christmas list. This time of year can be stressful for many—especially those of us who have lots of people to buy gifts for. My wife usually starts asking our nieces and nephews for Christmas lists around Halloween. And we're lucky to have those lists in place by the time December rolls around. There's one thing I've noticed over the years that's different from the days when I had to make lists for my family. Kids today don't understand how price matters. My parents made sure I knew there were limits to what I could put on my list. I had to pay attention to how much something costs... Send us a textWelcome to Episode 239! The Boys met up at Studio AA before heading out for the Thanksgiving Holiday to give us a treat. It's a once a year type of The news has been moving rapid fire these days with headlines galore. Some just begging to be painted by your GBFFS. It's that time of year kids -- The Boys have been watching the news cycles and getting tea on some of the most prescient and important news stories and this is the impetus for the at least once a year episode, Super Trash. And when it's been better than super, that's mega. (and no, not MAGA... not on this podcast) This week is time for Another Mega Trash! That's right! The popular and oft listened to episodes find their way into listeners, callers, readers, viewers, even some of the writers favorites of each season. Kicking off this week's episode, Casey & Mark are discussing who is made what for their Thanksgiving feasts and how they prepared for their tastes. Then a quick convo between The Boys about getting in touch with Santie for the Christmas List fulfillment. Closing out the Weekly Trash Pick-Up, your GBFFs are discussing seeing movies you don't really want to and how to ruin the film for everyone when you don't like it.Trash Talk topics this week kick off with some new or further troubles for some of The Real Housewives. There's an update about Wendy and Eddie Osefo from RHO Potomac, who now find themselves in deeper legal trouble -- how so?? Well you'll have to listen to see just how. Then Dorit and Sutton of RHOBH are burgled at their homes as they take the stages of BravoCon in NYC and Mia Thornton from RHO Potomac finds herself in cuffs at the Atlanta airport. Next, Erika Jayne's finds herself in familiar territory when her new beau finds himself in scalding hot water. Also, have you heard of sologomy? Mark's educating on this new sort of relationship. Then, universally seen symbols of hatred are no longer seen as hate symbols by the US Coast Guard -- but there's no human rights under attack in the United States. Then -- this years hottest gift outta China is an AI/ ChatGPT teddy bear which now is under fire for horribly inappropriate statements they make. A woman is violently attacked after she paid someone over $500 to do just that -- attack her--- so she could claim political violence. Phew!Like we said -- it's an episode full of Super Trash! The Boys are bringing the hilarity and discourse this week. The topics are sprawling, the tea is piping hot, and the recommendations (oh, yes -- there's recommendations for you too!) are legit. This one's a super goodie. So pour yourself the port vintage you saved for yourself after the holiday, maybe even have ya a slice of pumpkin pie with it and have a seat at the table with your GBFFs who are bringing the hilarity, the discourse, all filled with f@gg*try! Get ready! It's time to paint!=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Let The Boys of Painted Trash know your thoughts on this week's topics and episode!
