2021 - The Bordeaux Vineyard Season from Hell

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 6, 2022 22:26

Paradise Rescued Founder Director David Stannard reviews the 2021 vineyard season in Bordeaux. With the big frost, big wet and big plague, David describes 2021 as the "Season from Hell".Despite everything, the advantage once again was with the artisan organic producers in Bordeaux who were able to combat the extreme conditions with daily vineyard 'hand to hand' combat' to minimise the spread of fungal disease and select the best fruit for the vintage harvest.Although much of the 2021 vintage was significantly impacted by the climate conditions, David concludes with a positive summary and prediction for the 2021 Paradise Rescued Cabernet Franc and Merlot wines. As the quality of the vineyards continues to improve,  he makes an interesting correlation and observation about the steady progression of the wines. Follow the progress of the 2021 wines in  future Bordeaux Bits podcasts and via the Paradise Rescued social media channels. Support the show (https://www.paradiserescued.com/club/club-paradise-rescued/)
