    I Am Happy

I Am Happy: (as interpreted by Alberto Roman) I am happy. It isn't the safety of a house or wife, nor even a full belly and clothes, ...or good work, though I am grateful like soil is to rain. There is word, my quiet heart upon which they rest, and breath to carry them forth for a world.

    The Itch I Can't Reach

The Itch I Can't Reach: (as interpreted by Alberto Roman) Scratch an itch... oily skin on fingers over muscle, tendons, blood and bones. What hearted creature is unlike this? The organism. Water in. Food in. Oxygen in. Information in. Noises out. Heat out. Moisture out. Carbon dioxide out. Matter out. Simple. Common. Universal. I can hear the gurgling of my juices extracting life from the food. I can feel the pulse of my heart carrying nutrients in my blood throughout. Cells dying and birthing, dying and birthing in us all, always, until the last smile when something is freed. Ah, yes. Hello. Thank you for showing up before then. How could you let me sleep for so long? Did I miss anything important while I was away? Oh, well let's not be too dramatic. What hearted creature am I who acts so separate, alone from my hearted brothers? Could you hand me the back-scratcher? I have an itch I can't seem to reach.

    Rest In All Love Is

Rest In All Love Is: (as interpreted by Alberto Roman) I love you like this... dark, i can barely see your eyes... so dark my eyes are useless. My heart opens wide its light on you and your face brightens like the static on a TV screen, or like the moment we die and things begin to go all white and then you're an angel laying before me... the same one that has been there all along, the one my eyes turned into something else and I am ashamed I was deceived. Then, I see you, I see you like the energy that flows through my limbs, now, like the breath that takes the universe and gently creates another, now, like my feet walking on glass, now, like I was never there. I love you like I was never there. So gently, never there. In the dark where I can barely see, and, rest in all that love is.
