Exercise With Oxygen Therapy: Brad Ley on Inflammation, Capillaries, and 1000 Roads

Resilience Unravelled

In this Resilience Unravelled episode, host Russell interviews Brad Ley in Texas about oxygen and exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT). Ley explains he turned to oxygen therapy about a decade ago after chronic illness and autoimmune conditions, including psoriasis and autoimmune arthritis, when standard drugs carried serious risks and he developed melanoma. He contrasts EWOT with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, noting hard-shell hyperbaric treatments were recommended to him but were too expensive and time-consuming. Ley describes “inflammaging,” where inflamed blood vessels and swollen capillaries restrict oxygen delivery, pushing cells into anaerobic respiration, lowering energy production and increasing inflammation; he says delivering a high dose of oxygen during exercise can reduce inflammation and help reestablish blood flow in capillaries. He addresses concerns about oxygen and oxidative stress, stating oxygen is also important for detoxification and that research does not show increased oxidative stress from EWOT. Ley outlines the origins of EWOT research from Manfred von Ardenne and explains how oxygen therapy relates to inflammation and hypoxia, comparing it to hydrogen-based approaches. He discusses founding 1000 Roads after building his own system as an engineer and then producing units for patients, with a focus on affordable at-home use and a protocol of about 15 minutes of cardio with a mask, three to five times per week. Ley shares a customer anecdote about osteoarthritis improvement and notes response times vary. The conversation also covers red light therapy, which he says targets mitochondria to increase oxygen demand and pairs with EWOT by boosting oxygen supply then uptake, with claimed benefits including healing, cognitive function, reduced inflammation, skin and collagen support, and recovery. Ley notes the company ships from the US and internationally, with tariffs varying by country, and directs listeners to 1000roads.com and the 1000 Roads HQ YouTube channel for weekly videos on EWOT and red light therapy.00:00 Welcome & meet Brad Ley (Texas)01:04 Why more oxygen can reduce inflammation: ‘inflammaging', capillaries & hypoxia02:42 Is oxygen ‘rusting' us? In this NBN episode, host Hollay Ghadery speaks with Toronto poet Guy Elston about his debut poetry collection, The Character Actor Convention (Gordon Hill Press/Porcupine's Quill, 2025).  A pumpkin writes a letter to his father. A sheep recalls a revolution, and love. Hydrogen pens a tell-all expos of Oxygen. The Stick Insect Orders His Tomb. Napoleon counts waves and cheats at cards. A sunflower seeks answers - why sun? A crow considers children in this cruel, spiky world. And allthe while, character actors gather for the endless convention... Guy Elston's debut poetry collection, The Character Actor Convention, is a curious smorgasbord of personas, new voices and (un)natural perspectives. Through impossible encounters and strange viewpoints an insistent, ever-shifting 'I' questions its relation to reality, and itself. Wist, wit, obsession and irony rise like tides, are forgotten, and start fresh. Authenticity is always just round the corner. The Character Actor Convention is not urgent, timely or topical. Valentine's Day can stir up all kinds of longing, worry, and relational anxiety — especially if you love deeply and notice closeness and distance acutely. In this episode of Love Each Other Better, I dive into Marshall Rosenberg's famous metaphor: "I want to be flowers on your table, not oxygen for your lungs." I break down what this means through the compassionate lenses of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and attachment theory, including: The difference between universal human needs (like connection) and the particular ways we meet them in a relationship How anxious attachment patterns show up, and how I suggest caring for your inner child without making your partner responsible for your emotional survival What "flower-love" looks like in practice: freely chosen, generous, and joyful You'll come away with practical insights for nurturing secure, adult love — honoring both your need for connection and your partner's autonomy. ✨ Learn how to love each other better, without shame, pressure, obligation, or resentment. Listen to today's podcast... Have you found that when your plate is overloaded with work and family responsibilities, or when you are in a professional, financial, or relationship crisis, your self-care tends to fly out the window? For some of us, self-care is a luxury that we feel we can not afford to indulge in. There is a quote that I like that says, “How thin can I spread myself before I no longer exist'” Self-renewal is about transforming yourself. It can give you a fresh take on life. You feel better and more able, more competent and more effective. Self-care is like oxygen. It is essential in order to live a balanced and fulfilled life. If grit is what keeps you going, and resilience is what picks you up, self- renewal is what helps you stay energized. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!      Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Self-Renewal Day: Tip #1 Do A Body Scan. As soon as you wake, ask yourself, “Physically, emotionally, or spiritually, what do I really need to focus on today'” Self-renewing activities include looking after your well-being. Tip #2 Find Your Tribe. “Build your support network,” When we gather together to “tend and befriend,” our body releases more of the stress-reducing hormone, oxytocin. This makes us feel more hopeful, grateful and resilient. Looking for resources to build your resiliency? Check out my Live Smart blog at worksmartlivesmart.com #mentalhealth #hr

From the beginning of Scripture to the end, we can see the thread of TRUST in everything God is calling His people to. The question for every one of us is whether or not we will truly relinquish control and allow the Kingdom of God to move in us and through us! We are created in God's image. If you're treating the Gospel like a product, you're not worshipping—you're consuming.  Connect with us: YouTube: YouTube.com/@soul02-oxygen Facebook: @LP.Oxygen https://www.facebook.com/LP.Oxygen Instagram: LP.Oxygen Twitter: @Soul025 Buzzsprout: Soul02-Buzzsprout Spotify: Soul02 - Spotify Apple: Soul02-Itunes Stitcher: Soul02-Stitcher

SpaceTime with Stuart Gary Gary - Series 29 Episode 9In this episode of SpaceTime, we unravel the enigma of the universe's mysterious little red dots, delve into groundbreaking insights from Jupiter regarding the evolution of our solar system's planets, and mark the commencement of construction on Earth's largest gamma-ray observatory. The Mystery of the Little Red DotsA fascinating new study reveals that the enigmatic little red dots observed in early images from the NASA Webb Space Telescope are, in fact, young black holes cloaked in ionized gas. Researchers from the Niels Bohr Institute's Cosmic Dawn Center have determined that these black holes, much smaller than previously thought, are in the process of consuming gas, which creates immense heat and radiation, giving them their distinctive red appearance. This discovery sheds light on the formation of some of the universe's earliest black holes just 700 million years after the Big Bang.Jupiter's Role in Planetary EvolutionNew simulations indicate that Jupiter may contain up to 50% more oxygen than the Sun, providing fresh insights into how the planets in our solar system formed. By developing a comprehensive model of Jupiter's atmosphere, researchers have resolved a long-standing debate regarding the gas giant's chemical composition. The findings suggest that Jupiter's atmosphere circulates much more slowly than previously believed, which could alter our understanding of planetary migration and formation processes.Construction of Earth's Largest Gamma-Ray ObservatoryEngineers have officially begun construction on the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory, set to be the largest gamma-ray telescope ever built. Located in Chile's Atacama Desert, this observatory will significantly enhance our ability to study high-energy cosmic phenomena, such as black holes and supernovae. With over 60 telescopes across two sites, the observatory will allow astronomers to observe gamma rays with unprecedented accuracy, potentially unlocking new discoveries about dark matter and the fundamental laws of physics.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesNature JournalPlanetary Science JournalAdvances in Atmospheric SciencesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-your-guide-to-space-astronomy--2458531/support.(00:00:00) New study reveals little red dots in Webb images are young black holes(00:07:30) Jupiter may have 50% more oxygen than the Sun, reshaping planetary formation theories(00:15:45) Construction begins on the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory(00:22:00) New data confirms 2025 saw record ocean heat storage(00:25:30) Advances in autonomous driving technology showcased at CES 2026.

Brittany Murphy, the talented actress known for Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, and Uptown Girls, died at age 32 on December 20, 2009, in her Hollywood Hills home from accidental pneumonia, severe anemia, and prescription drug intoxication. Five months later, her husband Simon Monjack died in the same house from nearly identical causes. Official investigations ruled both deaths accidental and preventable, with no evidence of foul play, illegal drugs, toxic mold, or poisoning. Despite this, speculation continues around toxic mold, heavy metal poisoning (based on a disputed hair test), Sharon Murphy's possible role (as Brittany's devoted mother, sole heir, and close companion to Simon after the death), the home's eerie history (previous owners Madonna and Britney Spears reported unsettling “haunted” experiences), and even far-fetched links to Sean “P Diddy” Combs. As of 2026, experts maintain the deaths were tragic coincidences due to untreated illness and self-medication, with no credible evidence supporting conspiracy theories.   This episode supports The Branch of Hope Foundation January 2025 sponsored charity: The Honey & Barry Sherman Legacy Foundation -  A charitable organization established in 2020 by their daughter Alex Krawczyk to honor the memory and continue the philanthropic vision of Barry Sherman, the founder of Apotex, and his wife Honey, following their tragic deaths in 2017. Its primary purpose is to support charitable organizations focused on healthcare equity, human rights, scientific education and research, and Jewish community institutions, thereby furthering the couple's unfinished philanthropic aims. The foundation directs grants to initiatives that improve lives, advance medical care and accessibility (such as donations to hospitals and vision care programs), promote scientific discovery, and strengthen community organizations. By building on the Shermans' long-standing commitment to giving it creates a lasting legacy of impactful philanthropy.   Sources: Chubb, H., & Krauser, E. (2025, December 20). The discussion contrasts liquid oxygen products with how the body actually absorbs and uses oxygen through respiration, examines the limited research on oxygenated water and performance, and separates plausible mechanisms from marketing language like “supercharged” or “instantly available oxygen.” It also covers who these products are marketed to, potential placebo or hydration effects, safety considerations, and how consumers should evaluate evidence and regulatory standards when faced with bold energy and recovery claims, ultimately aiming to give listeners a grounded, critical framework for assessing this category rather than a purely promotional take.Relevant Links:Get Liquid Oxygen Here: https://go2life.com.au/ Who Is Liquid Oxygen For:https://go2life.com.au/who-its-for/mioksi-revitalising-oxygen-mist/The Supplements Lucas Recommends Here: https://www.inb4supps.com/ Hosted on Acast. What if the core of fatigue, brain fog, and “getting old” is really an oxygen problem? We sit down with Brad Pitzele to unpack how exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT) and red and near-infrared light can reboot cellular energy, open microcirculation, and dial down inflammation in a way that's fast, practical, and measurable. Brad's story moves from autoimmune arthritis and melanoma risk to a sustainable routine that restored clarity and stamina—without spending hours in a chamber or crushing workouts. We break oxygen down to first principles: aerobic vs anaerobic ATP, why lactic acid spikes when cells are starved, and how oxygen use declines about 1% per year after 25. From there, we get tactical. EWOT leverages exercise-driven vasodilation to flood plasma with oxygen, reaching capillary “nooks and crannies” red blood cells can't. Hyperbaric oxygen raises partial pressure and helps specific cases like non-healing wounds or those unable to exercise, but EWOT's 15-minute sessions, lower cost, and vessel-friendly physiology often make it the go-to choice for daily use.Light therapy adds the second lever—demand. Red and near-infrared wavelengths signal mitochondria to take in more oxygen and make more ATP, supporting skin renewal, muscle recovery, and cognitive performance. Use them together for a supply-and-demand loop: EWOT first, then light for longevity; light first, then EWOT for performance. We also cover safe ramp-ups to avoid Herxheimer reactions, how to start if you're deconditioned, what biomarkers to track, and myths to ditch about “no pain, no gain” and red light overdosing. If you've wondered whether brain fog can lift, whether energy can return without heroic protocols, or whether oxygen and light can support long COVID, Lyme, or cognitive decline strategies, this conversation offers clear steps and honest limits. DENSIFICATION AND THE CRUSHED SODA CAN Colleague Eric Berger. Berger explains the technical leaps required for the "Falcon 9 Full Thrust," specifically the use of densified propellants. By super-chilling liquid oxygen to nearly -300°F, SpaceX increased propellant density by 10-12%, drastically improving payload capacity. This innovation accompanied the challenge of landing boosters on ocean barges. Berger compares the fragility of an unpressurized rocket stage to a soda can, noting how easily they were crushed or exploded during early attempts to land on moving drone ships. These upgrades, including the "Octaweb" engine arrangement, were essential for creating a reusable fleet capable of frequent flight. In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, Darin sits down with Hagen Thiers to unpack one of the most misunderstood journeys in health: why doing "everything right" still doesn't always work — and how true transformation requires decoding the body's survival signals, not fighting them. Hagen shares his remarkable physical transformation after decades of extreme metabolic adaptation, chronic gut inflammation, and stress-driven physiology. Together, they explore metabolism, inflammation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, protein intake, discipline, and why sustainable health is built through patience, self-leadership, and listening to the body's intelligence.     What You'll Learn in This Episode Why extreme dieting and endurance stress can permanently slow metabolism How survival adaptation can block fat loss despite "perfect" habits The overlooked role of gut inflammation in weight retention Why fat is a protective organ, not just stored energy How leptin signaling and inflammation dictate fat loss resistance The difference between calorie math and biological reality Why healing must precede weight loss for many people How protein intake preserves muscle during fat loss Why discipline beats motivation every time The role of hyperbaric oxygen in reducing inflammation and restoring function How oxygen delivery impacts fat tissue, gut health, and recovery Why consistency over months—not hacks—creates lasting change How physical freedom directly impacts happiness and life quality     Chapters 00:00:03 – Welcome to SuperLife and the mission of sovereignty and health 00:00:32 – Sponsor: Fatty15 and cellular health 00:04:14 – Introducing Hagen Thiers 00:09:43 – Hagen's transformation and why this conversation matters 00:11:26 – Doing everything right but still being stuck 00:13:28 – Discovering severe metabolic suppression 00:14:54 – Extreme endurance, starvation adaptation, and survival metabolism 00:17:04 – Why chronic calorie restriction backfires 00:20:56 – Gut inflammation as the real barrier to fat loss 00:22:41 – Healing before weight loss 00:23:26 – Fiber diversity, probiotics, and microbiome repair 00:24:30 – Enter hyperbaric oxygen therapy 00:27:57 – Why calories in / calories out breaks down 00:30:30 – Stress, inflammation, and metabolic shutdown 00:31:53 – Protein requirements and muscle preservation 00:35:47 – Discipline as a long-term lifestyle 00:38:54 – Eating frequency and metabolic signaling 00:43:39 – How hyperbaric oxygen works 00:47:31 – Why results accelerate after consistency 00:50:23 – 170 lbs lost and metabolic breakthrough 00:54:32 – Oxygen quality and chamber safety 00:58:22 – Breathwork vs hyperbaric oxygen 01:03:40 – Building an internal healing environment 01:05:05 – Life after transformation 01:06:42 – Discipline, the gym, and honest feedback 01:09:26 – Health as freedom, not restriction 01:11:39 – Inflammation as the missing piece for most people 01:12:45 – Closing reflections and hope for listeners     Thank You to Our Sponsors Therasage: Go to www.therasage.com and use code DARIN at checkout for 15% off Our Place: Toxic-free, durable cookware that supports healthy cooking. Stress, anxiety, trauma, poor sleep, burnout. These aren't edge cases anymore. They're the operating system most people are running on.In this episode, I sit down with Jim Poole, CEO of NuCalm, for one of the most illuminating conversations I've had about the brain, stress, and performance. Jim has spent the last 17 years pioneering a field most people have never heard of but desperately need to understand: applied neuropsychobiology, or how the brain actually regulates stress, fear, sleep, and focus.Jim shares his personal background, from growing up with two psychotherapist parents and moving 14 times before graduating high school, to working in private equity and mental health institutions, to ultimately finding his life's work through NuCalm. He explains why stress is responsible for 95–99% of disease, why our nervous systems are stuck in survival mode, and why most people don't fail because of mindset, but because of physiology. This conversation breaks down complex neuroscience in a way that finally makes sense. We talk about the amygdala, oxygen, brainwave frequency, sleep architecture, trauma, and why mindfulness works when it works—and why it often doesn't.If you've ever felt like you're doing “all the right things” but still living in stress, exhaustion, or fight-or-flight, this episode will change how you understand your brain and what's actually within your control. What We Talked About:Bullets:Why chronic stress is at an all-time high and how the nervous system is wired for survival, not modern lifeThe role of the amygdala, oxygen-rich blood, and brainwave frequency in stress, anxiety, focus, and sleepWhy mindfulness works physiologically, not philosophically, and why most people struggle to practice itHow trauma and prolonged stress trap the brain in high-frequency survival statesThe science behind NuCalm and how it guides the brain into specific states like deep sleep, focus, creativity, and recoveryWhy sleep is non-negotiable for health, performance, and longevityHow entrepreneurs and high performers can self-regulate without burnout3️⃣ ⏱ TimestampsThese come after the bullets. PUSHING BOUNDARIES WITH DENSIFIED PROPELLANT AND BARGE LANDINGS Colleague Eric Berger. Following the 2015 launch failure, SpaceX introduced the "Falcon 9 Full Thrust," which utilized densified propellants—super-chilled liquid oxygen—to increase fuel mass by up to 12% for greater efficiency. This technology required tight launch windows but was essential for the company's reusability goals. Simultaneously, the company attempted to land boosters on an ocean barge, a process described as trying to land "nine Dixie cups" in a storm. These efforts were driven by the need to recover and reuse delicate rocket stages that are easily crushed when not pressurized. NUMBER 4 MARCH 1958
