The Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release marine animals. In doing this, they also seek to inspire the human spirit. David Kinne, Training and Development Specialist at CMA, tells the inside story of several of the aquarium’s residents and the impact they have on the lives of visitors, staff, and volunteers. Larry Knauer co-founded the sailing program at Adaptive Adventures, a nonprofit whose motto is "Freedom Through Mobility". He describes the specially designed boats they use to take people with a range of disabilites (including sight impairment) out on the water and teach them to sail, and the positive impact the program has on the partivipants and volunteers.
