Welcome to Sunday Club*! Your weekly dose of escapism from the acute misery of life right now - a vaccine against Sunday blues if you will. I'll be looking back at the week and sharing stories from life plus chatting to guests and sharing their stories too. *The real life Sunday Club was created when a friend was going through heartbreak and every Sunday we would meet and have dinner and put the world to right.
SURPRISE!! Sunday Club is back for a one-off special So many people said they listened while out for a run/walk and at the specific request of Alice Meehan who is one of the hundreds of incredible people running the London Marathon this weekend, I sat down with the fitness
Its the final episode of the series! If there's one thing that will unite those who will emerge from x3 lockdown's with their physical health in tact, is that we can all wear team colours of 'I did it'. Hear about a cutla major team fails on my part and a huge team success story in the form of Fleur Cousens, founder of Goaldiggers FC and pun queen.
On a scale of 1-10 how pumped are we to be back with our friends, in a pub, obnoxiously screaming the group's ‘song'? Hear about one of my group songs and an unforgettable accompanying moment. Plus I chat to not one but TWO guests - Lauren Bennett and Cookie aka Nicola Cook about our 12+ years as friends.
Want to know about finding happiness? Then look no further as I look back on one of my favourite moments from my time at the 'happiest place on earth', Disneyland Paris...plus I talk to someone who chases happiness more than most people I know, Dan Gregory, who let's us in on his job(s) as crew at Virgin Atlantic, with Disney Special Events and tells me what makes him happy...I tell you what makes me happy, a 45min episode rather than your usual 30min. ENJOY. (happy much?)
January and February are notoriously quiet periods in many industries, especially in TV so this week I look back at some of the more unusual jobs I've done during these quiet spells. Plus I'm joined by friend, colleague and Youtuber Kyra Wills who is a ray of sunshine that we could all use this Sunday - if only to help melt the icicles that have formed on any bit of exposed skin...IT'S SO COLD.
In the week that saw our nation collectively get over the latest 'hump' of you-know-what, I have indulged myself in thinking about travelling - namely, deciding on a month-long trip to the Philippines two days before the offish pandemic announcement. Plus I'm joined by dancer and officially one of London's best instructors, its Kiwi-born, New York-lived, now London-based, Jono Selvadurai.
This week I contemplate the wild highs and crippling lows of pursuing passions but also trying to get through a day at work. Plus I'm talking to friend and producer Lori Duncan Allan who left London to make her mark on the music industry in Scotland. Oh and also finds time to run events, play the drums, teach yoga...the list is endless.
This week, with every inch of my soul pining for a professionally cooked meal served on a plate and not in a sweaty, flaccid, non-recyclable container, I reminisce on dining out, why cooking makes us happy, and look back on one of many memorable moments working in restaurants. All joined by neighbour, friend and actor Will Merrick who is about to burst onto our screens in a brand new series of Dead Pixels, on E4.
Allowing myself a fleeting break from the permanent terror of developing a tickly cough, I reminisce on an equally horrifying moment that led to the demise of my short lived career as a singer and chat to the only possible contender for episode one, Ruth. Who is about to take over the fitness world…as soon as we're allowed out the house.
Welcome to Sunday Club! First episode coming this Sunday
