    The Trustees of Reservations is proud to protect and steward numerous threatened and endangered species around the state, and along the coast.  This summer, the Piping Plover population on Crane Beach had a record year, with 49 pairs of plovers fledging 96 chicks. In this episode, two Trustees ecologists detail the triumphs, tragedies and inside story of just what it takes to steward and manage a shorebird season on our beaches.   ### ABOUT The Trustees on the Coast Podcast: The effects of climate change are all around us, impacting our daily lives, our homes, where we work, where our children play, and the places that we love.     Argilla Road, a key point of access for the Crane Estate and Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA, is facing increasing challenges because of rising sea level and more frequent and severe storms.
