Indie studios make some of the greatest games. Many of them get overshadowed by large triple A games. Jonny Casino is setting out to play more indie games and meet new friends along the way. Join him on this journey where We Play Indie!
Today i spoke with royalty. He is the King of da Pirates, Brendan Myers. It was great. We spent an hour talking about Mr. Shifty and also got into why people need to check out more indie games. Follow Brendan: @King0fDaPirates Jonny Casino @jonny_casino @we_play_indie
I met TrashTurkey!!! Ok, maybe his real name is Jeremy, but he will always be TrashTurkey to me. Luckily for me, he really remembered the Unfinished Swan. We had a great conversation about it and some more current games. Basically, he thinks Nintendo stole a lot of this game to use in Splatoon! Speaking of games, Jeremy brought a game to play with him and it was fantastic.
This month, I am joined by the Nintendo Guru himself, Bobby Pauls. What a great time we had. Bobby had me play Steamworld Heist, a game he knows more about than any other person on Earth. Bobby starts off by telling the story of how he got to know the team from Image and Form, and then we talk about how great the game is and about the few things we did not like.
Barry Dunne, a lover of indie games, was gracious enough to join me this month and talk to me about 3 Souls on the WiiU. The game is short, so we were able to dive into our thoughts on indies as a whole and what we hope for indies on the Nintendo Switch.
I finally got to meet Gary Gray from the Broken Block. Man that was great. He had suggested I play Electronic Super Joy and so I did. We get into a little bit of who he is and then dive into the bizarre, music driven game. There are no spoiler, but hang on to your seat when Gary starts reading the descriptions for the sequel and DLC!
