This episode I am reading from Lynne McGinnis's book 'Overcoming Adversity by Embracing the Higher Truths: One Woman's Journey to Spiritual Awakening'.Lynne McGinnis grew up feeling defective—bombarded by parental atheism, messages that there was "something wrong" with her, relentless bullying, and a deep-seated panic over death. She sought refuge in compulsive achievements, excelling as a top-ranked law student and later as an attorney. Yet, her prestigious career only masked her chronic anxiety, struggles with body image, and ingrained belief that she was worthless. Father Nathan Castle Talks About Helping Stuck Souls Cross Over Our guest today is a longtime Seek Reality friend. He is the wonderful Father Nathan Castle, who is a leader in the field of doing afterlife rescue work, and he is with us for the 12th time. We have known Father Nathan here for perhaps seven years, ever since his first book came out, and Roberta could not believe at first that his spirit rescue work was something that the Catholic Church would even allow! But not only do they allow it, they seem to actively support it. So, very good for them indeed! Father Nathan Castle is a Dominican priest who lives and works in a community of Dominican men and women serving the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is a lovely, gentle, and very spiritual man, and something like thirty years ago, he was recruited by elevated beings not in bodies to do spirit rescue work with them. As it turns out, almost twenty-five percent of people will go off-track for a time when they die, and they often do that by their own choice. And our wonderful friend Father Nathan is one of those who is trusted to help to rescue some of those people, once they feel ready to complete their afterlife journeys. Father Nathan's terrific first book, which was called Afterlife, Interrupted – Helping Stuck Souls Cross Over, came out in 2019, and Roberta tells us that everything in it was completely consistent with what she had learned during all her decades of doing afterlife research. Then that book was followed by books two and three, with similar titles. (This podcast was previously published on April 7, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God calls HIS Word to our mind by HIS Spirit.  We must learn to stop and focus on "that" word when this happens.   Or if we are reading Bible and a scripture stands out to us as we are reading, stop and focus on "that" scripture for there is a special message from God to us in that verse and it will fill a hole in our heart at that exact moment if only we will stop and focus on that scripture.   James 1:   17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.   18 Of HIS own will begat HE us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of HIS creatures.   19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:   20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.   21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.   22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.   Consider this:  What was the last scripture brought to your attention by the Holy Spirit?   Look at that scripture for it is a special message from God to you and it will fill a need in your heart at this point in time.   Learn to collect these scriptures and look through these scriptures throughout the day.  They will strengthen you and help you to keep faith in God in the midst of darkness of this present world.   Here is a scripture which delights me and excites me and encourages me to speak things of God.   Philippians 2:15-16    Paul says:  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life;   When I am with someone, and God reminds me of a scripture, I try to have courage to share that scripture or that concept for that is what that person needs at that exact moment.   I don't plan ahead what I will say.  I often pray asking God to have me to speak only that which HE wants spoken when I am with another person.   Then when I am reminded of that scripture or concept, I speak.   Then I know that is God doing the work, and not me.

W.E.B. Du Bois is remembered as a civil rights leader, sociologist, and author of The Souls of Black Folk. But before he became famous for his empirical studies of Black life in America, Du Bois was a graduate student at Harvard studying cutting-edge economic theory. In 1891, at age 23, he submitted a 158-page manuscript entitled A Constructive Critique of Wage Theory to a Harvard prize competition. The manuscript sat in the Harvard archives for over a century, largely unexamined by trained economists. Author Daniel Kuehn recently requested that Harvard digitize the manuscript so that he could analyze its contents. In a paper in the Journal of Economic Perspectives, he explores how Du Bois anticipated the application of marginalist ideas in economics to the determination of wages.  Kuehn recently spoke with Tyler Smith about Du Bois's contributions to wage theory, why these contributions went unrecognized, and how his time in Berlin redirected him toward the historical and empirical work for which he is known.
