FEATURING: An unlocked episode from the NWR Patreon: It's time for our September RFN Patreon episode, and it is Round 3 of "Name that Review." Guillaume is now quoting PGC Reviews from 2003, and challenging his co-hosts to guess the game. Someone squeezed a Denis Dyack quote in where it absolutely does not belong, and James is incensed.
Comentarios: https://t.me/comentariosindiepodcast

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We're missing Randall this week, but Kevin & John have all sorts of video gaming goodies to discuss, so let's get right into the action! Kevin gets the ball rolling with a couple of Wii U games that he recently scooped up, as he continues to round out the games in his collection. After that, we briefly give some first impressions of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, before ultimately deciding to table the discussion until Randall is back in the mix. Finally, John closes things out with a couple of games that he's been enjoying — and having a really hard time putting down — on his PC lately. fWotD Episode 2914: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Sunday, 27 April 2025, is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is a 2000 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was the second The Legend of Zelda game to use 3D graphics, following Ocarina of Time (1998). Designed by a creative team led by Eiji Aonuma, Yoshiaki Koizumi, and Shigeru Miyamoto, Majora's Mask was completed in less than two years. It features enhanced graphics and several gameplay changes, but reuses elements and character models from Ocarina of Time, which the game's creators called a creative decision made necessary by time constraints. The story takes place months after Ocarina of Time. Link arrives in a parallel world, Termina, and becomes embroiled in a quest to prevent the moon from crashing in three days' time. The game introduces gameplay concepts revolving around a perpetually repeating three-day cycle and the use of various masks that transform Link into different forms. As the player progresses through the game, Link learns to play numerous melodies on his ocarina, which allow him to control the flow of time, open hidden passages, or manipulate the environment. Characteristic of the Zelda series, completion of the game involves successfully navigating through several dungeons that contain complex puzzles and enemies. Majora's Mask requires the Expansion Pak add-on for the Nintendo 64, which provides additional memory for more refined graphics and greater capacity in generating on-screen characters.Majora's Mask earned universal acclaim from critics and is widely considered one of the best video games ever made. It received praise for its level design, story, and surrealist art direction, and has been noted for its darker tone and themes compared to other Nintendo titles. While the game only sold about half as many copies as its predecessor, it generated a substantial cult following. The game was rereleased as part of The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition for the GameCube in 2003, via the Virtual Console service for the Wii and Wii U, and the Nintendo Classics service for Nintendo Switch. An enhanced remake for the Nintendo 3DS, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, was released in 2015.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:48 UTC on Sunday, 27 April 2025.For the full current version of the article, see The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Gregory.

Nintendos Würfel feiert in diesen Wochen seinen 20.

The Nintendo Direct was today, the Switch 2 was officially revealed, and digital games will cost $80. No, that wasn't a typo. Also some games won't even be on a cartridge, the cartridge is just a key to unlock the downloads... or something. $450. Are you buying a Nintendo Switch 2 at launch or nah? Nintendo Switch 2 games will cost an unprecedented $80 for digital and $90 for physical copies, potentially setting a new industry standard for game pricing. Digital-only games will require a separate cartridge key to unlock downloads, raising concerns about game ownership and digital rights management. The Switch 2's $450 price point combined with expensive games risks a Wii U-like failure, potentially impacting the entire gaming industry. The new controller's C button for game chat and GL/GR buttons are viewed as unnecessary gimmicks by some critics. The console's 2.5-6.5 hour battery life is seen as inadequate for extended gaming sessions. The Switch 2's 4K output and HDR support are considered by some as expensive gimmicks that don't justify the increased costs. After a fissure in space time opened in Chicago, multiple eras of Connectivity hosts were pulled together into an Air B and B. Then completely unrelated Nintendo decided to have a Nintendo Direct so we quickly and poorly recorded a podcast with whatever we had sitting around. Connectivity has joined Twitter, so be sure to follow @ConnectivityNWR to be up to date on any announcements. We are wanting more listener participation, so feel free to ask questions, they may show up in the show! Living here in New LA, fighting villains from afar. You got to find first gear in your giant robot car. The Xenoblade saga on Switch is now complete with the inclusion of Xenoblade Chronicles X (Xenoblade Cross if you're nasty). But it's been 10 years since the original release on WiiU; has it aged well? The very idea of video games "aging well" is a concept invented by tech-capitalists so don't ask me that. Instead ask "How much of the current open-world RPG landscape do we owe to it, do the gameplay elements designed for the WiiU transpose to the Switch well, and exactly how fantastic a game is it?" All these questions and more will be answered by Kat, Nadia, Eric, and Victor on this interstellar episode of Axe of the Blood God!
