Send us Fan MailIntro; Top 10 Zelda games.

PROGRAMON! Comentarios: https://t.me/comentariosindiepodcast

In today's Daily Fix:A Bank of America analyst thinkgs Grand Theft Auto 6 should retail for $80, if only to help justify the high pricepoint for other games. Bank of America's Omar Dessouky thinks other game companies would have a difficult time justifying $80 for games, at a time in the industry where games are struggling to make their development budgets back and a higher pricepoint would help alleviate some of the struggle. In related GTA 6 news, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on why there's no PC port of the game at launch, and it's because their core audience is on console. Like previous GTAs, GTA 6 is expected to come to PC eventually. And finally, former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime explained what happened with the Wii U, blaming the failure on a slow release schedule of first-party exclusives.

Back on Episode 105 we had a look at party games, and during that episode it was some people's opinion that online games don't count as party games. For a party, you have to all be together and in the same room - so that's just what we did! All 8 founding members of the Beat of the Month crew got together for a full day of gaming, which just so happened to have 8 games. So surely everyone picked a game to play, right? Wrong! Instead this was combined with Brian's deep dive and he chose 8 party games for everyone to play.So what are the games? It's quite the assortment - We've got some Dreamcast games with Power Stone 2 and Chu Chu Rocket. We've got some Switch games with Everybody 1-2 Switch, Nintendo World Championship, and indie gem Hidden In Plain Sight. We've also got an obscure PS1 game called Poy Poy, one of the few Wii U games doomed to never leave the system - Nintendo Land, and then DVD board game turned video game for Xbox 360, Scene It. It was a packed day filled with gaming (and also some wings and donuts to keep our energy levels topped off)! Don't have a group of friends to play party games with? Well come join us for the next 90 minutes and have some fun regardless!
FEATURING: Syrenne joins the two greatest sages in business, the enlighted duo and J and J DreamFactory, to talk about the state of the industry, the attention economy, and just how much of a mess everything is. At some point we also talk about meme games. No timecodes this week because the entire episode is unstructured.

Special thanks to St. Jodee, St. August, and St. Wyatt for joining me in the outro. Intro was recorded on Shure SM7B dynamic microphone running through a Cloudlifter Preamp for superior sound quality. Outro was recorded on AudioTechnica AT2020 condenser microphone for better ability to pick up sounds further away from the mic (important when capturing four different people standing or sitting varying distances away from it). All were recorded using the Focusrite 4i4 XLR-to-USB audio interface into a mix of Audacity and Ardour in Fedora Linux Pt 2 releases simultaneously to Pt 1.
Part 2 of a 2 part series. Okay, pt 1 turned out to be a backwards episode after all, didn't it (who could've predicted?!) But that doesn't mean that pt 2 has to be that too, right? Maybe pt 2 will be about VGM which uses the fibonacci sequence to reinforce fourier operations in Fortnite. Or maybe a sob story about how a chip shortage on the YM2612 is resulting in poachers hunting and killing Sega Genesis…es… to harvest their YM2612 chips for boutique jewelry. Or heck, maybe it's just the Excitebike soundtrack. I guess you'll just have to find out, won't you? Special outro music is First time Setup from the Switch 2 - composed by Kazumi Totaka (and might I add, one of the biggest teases in the history of video games for Switch 2 adopters like myself who still missed the music-filled Wii and WiiU system suites and were given a little jolt of false hope by it for the new system). Here is a link to a document which contains details (and links) on every previous NNR April Fools outing: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1K2I0F04kBy4vEAKLAfY3QrIEHVvr9uOIuTJBepoI39c/edit?usp=sharing As well as this link to the spreadsheet I used to plan out these two episodes (apologies for the partially corrupted data. I'm not even sure how that happened). :-D https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sVAx-IQdvs1gXuB0nA7bJX1yepXAx47fTb5Y5GsPNlQ/edit?usp=sharing NOTE: I had intended to pull from not just “St. John” episodes, but from every best-of episode 2019-2025, but ran into my 100 before even getting to the non-St. John episodes. I'll include reversed copies of each mixtape (both used and unused) on this spreadsheet as SUPER BONUSES over on Archive as well as “Backtracks UNBACKED” and “Backtracks - Back-to-Front”. So you can hear everything I heard in the process of putting this together. Intro and outro recorded on Shure SM7B dynamic microphone running through a Cloudlifter Preamp through the Focusrite 4i4 XLR-to-USB audio interface into a mix of Audacity and Ardour in Fedora Linux. Pt 1 released simultaneously to Pt 2.
Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We've got the full crew in the house once again this week, and a whole slew of gaming goodies to discuss, so let's get right into the action! Kevin kicks things off with a trio of metroidvania (and metroidvania-adjacent) indies — including a quick wrap-up from last week's episode, and a couple of modern day classics (unfortunately) published by Nicalis. Randall takes things from there, and digs into his time with the Twilight Princess HD remake on Wii U, so far — which he & his daughter have been playing through on the weekends. Finally, John closes us out with a couple of massive, open-world adventures — as he finally polishes off Tears of the Kingdom, and continues to venture forth in Death Stranding.
