In January 2023, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal launched a new series called "Weird West Texas," where we explore some of the most odd, eccentric and, sometimes, just plain weird things in our region — from the state's northernmost town of Hitchland, down into the Big Country, eastward to the Rolling Plains and all the way to El Paso. Our audience quickly became fans as they learned new and interesting facts about their home, so we decided to take it a step further and produce "Weird West Texas: The Podcast." Here, we will discuss some tidbits from our research and the favorite topics we covered throughout the month. We'll also share some readers' comments and emails, so we encourage you to reach out and share your opinions. New episodes will go live the second Wednesday of each month. Now let's get weird, y'all!
