The Interpreter: Sharing a candidate's message w/ the deaf and hard of hearing

Mona Jean Cedar is a sign language interpreter who works at political events. I met her at a Beto O'Rourke rally in Los Angeles where she was on stage the entire time with the candidate. She interpreted Beto's passionate message for the deaf and hard of hearing community. I had the pleasure of speaking with her on my stream about her background with American Sign Language (ASL) and what it is like to be on stage with a candidate running for President of the United States of America. I'm a firm believer that bringing your unique talents to activism can be an amazingly rewarding experience. And hearing Mona Jean share her stories was the affirmation I had always hoped for. Running for Congress in one of the most Republican districts in America

Chris Rowe is running for Congress and joined me for a conversation about his campaign, his policy positions, and so much more. Chris is running as a Democrat in one of the most Republican districts in the nation. Tennessee's 1st congressional district is R+28 according to the Cook Partisan Voting Index (CPVI or PVI). There are only THREE districts in the entire nation with a higher rating. The last Democrat who ran in this district lost by 77% of the vote. And the incumbent, Phil Roe (no relation to Chris), is a five-term congressman who wields a great deal of power in the House. The district is considered so safe for Republicans that Chris is running unopposed in the primary. But Chris is not deterred. And I have to say I am in awe of his passion and willingness to take on the challenge. IMO, running for office is the ultimate form of activism. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and know you will too. Jesse from Just Us Games Studios sat down with me to discuss a game he is developing called "Supreme Courtship." The game is a comedy visual novel adventure where you play as the newly appointed 9th Justice on the Supreme Court. You'll navigate through the American justice system while solving a political murder mystery and hanging out with young, stylish versions of the current members of the SC. In this interview, Jesse and I discuss why games are a great way to learn about an institution like the Supreme Court and we go into why he chose this subject for his game. Check out their Kickstarter at the website below and help make this game a reality!
