Gary Greenberg discusses the passage of Erin's Law in NYS
Today on the Eye on NY podcast: • An interview with Erin Merryn and Gary Greenberg about their advocacy for Erin's Law. The legislation named in honor of Merryn would require New York schools to provide age-appropriate sex abuse education. The lessons would teach children about appropriate versus inappropriate touching. Greenberg, who recently advocated for passage of the Child Victims Act, is joining Merryn to push for passage of Erin's Law. • A state budget update! There has been some progress on the 2019-20 state budget. I'll review some of the key agreements so far, including a plastic bag ban, additional voting reforms, school aid and prison closures.

Erin Merryn is the founder and president of Erin’s Law, a law that has been credited for preventing dozens of child predators from harming countless children throughout the United States. Erin has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC Nightline, TODAY Show, TLC, and CNN, as well as many other popular programs and publications. About Erin's Law: The first U.S. child sexual abuse prevention education law requiring children be educated in school about identifying sexual abuse. Thus far, the law has been passed in 31 states with 17 additional states preparing to vote on the bill in 2017 or 2018.
