Racism and colorism are both extremely prevalent in our society, and recent events have made that clearer than ever. Racism is when one racial or ethnic group discriminates against another racial or ethnic group, whereas colorism is when one person from one racial or ethnic group discriminates against another person within the same racial or ethnic group. Both are terrible issues in our world, and the judgement of people based on their looks needs to stop. In this episode, I discuss colorism and the fair-skin ideology with my friend Shravya, and we both learn a little more about the way skin color has a lasting impact on your life. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mahathi-gopinathan/message
