This week the pugs discuss the theologically profound and philosophically astute nineteenth century fiction writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Interacting with key aspects of this Russian Christians challenging life and intense suffering, they place his writings and their profound engagement with the human condition, looking at the idolatrous and soul destroying paths on many modernist ideologies, and highlighting the riches of Christian wisdom and grace for truly transfiguring that broken human condition from despair and enslavement to genuine freedom in God's life through Christ.Support the Theology Pugcast on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/thetheologypugcast?fbclid=IwAR17UHhfzjphO52C_kkZfursA_C784t0ldFix0wyB4fd-YOJpmOQ3dyqGf8Order Manmade: Saint Anthony's Guide to Surviving the AI Apocalypse: https://a.co/d/0brd2TR7Learn more about First Pres. What if one book could change the way you tell stories, connect with your audience, or even see your own podcast? In this episode of the School of Podcasting, I asked a simple question: “If you found out someone was a content creator, what book would you recommend?” — and the responses were pure gold. You'll hear from working podcasters, educators, business owners, and storytellers sharing the books that sharpened their craft, grew their communities, and kept them going when numbers and algorithms tried to wear them down. Along the way, I share my own must‑reads and pay tribute to a podcasting legend whose work shaped an entire generation of creators. If you're ready to level up your show — not with more gear, but with better thinking, storytelling, and heart — this is the episode you'll want to queue up next.ParticipantsKim NewloveThe Pharmacist Voice PodcastThe Perrysburg PodcastRalph Estep Jr.The Content Creators Accountanthttps://ralphestepjr.comChris NessiHouse of EdTechMark LawleyPractical Prepping PodcastNancy May (with co‑host Sylvia France)Family Tree Food Stories PodcastDave CohenThe Shakespeare MindsetTom HaleyBluegrass Region Voices and ViewsBooks MentionedFind Your Red Thread: Make Your Big Ideas - Tamsen WebsterThe Audience Is Listening: A Little Guide to Building a Big Podcast – Tom WebsterHow to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale CarnegieSacred Cows Make the Best Burgers – Robert J. In this episode, Dr. K and Kruti sit down with Lucas and Ory, a couple navigating an anxious-avoidant relationship while backpacking in Peru. Breaking down a recent conflict where they were both severely sick in a hotel room with mismatched needs, Dr. K provides a masterclass on how to navigate deadlocks, stop over-pathologizing yourself, and understand the hidden templates driving your partner's reactions. What to expect in this episode: The Anxious-Avoidant Dynamic: Why this pairing is notoriously known as a "match made in hell," but is actually the perfect karmic friction required for profound spiritual and personal growth. Conflicting Templates: How a simple action—like wanting to watch a video alone—maps to completely different emotional meanings (a healthy need for independence vs. a painful signal of abandonment) depending on your attachment style. The Danger of Over-Indexing: Why we shouldn't treat every single argument as a deep psychological issue to solve, and why sometimes you just have to "take the L" when both partners are physically sick, exhausted, and naturally regressing to old habits. Quantifying Your Needs: Practical communication tools for deadlocked couples, including rating your immediate needs on a scale of 1-10, and actively assessing how empty your partner's "tank" is before asking for support. Labeling the Flare-Up: How naming your attachment trigger out loud (e.g., explicitly stating, "My anxious attachment is flaring today") can remove confusion and help your partner understand exactly what you need. Over-Pathologizing Normal Needs: A deep dive into Lucas's specific guilt, exploring how recovering avoidants often demonize their perfectly normal need for space because they are terrified of failing their partner. The Illusion of Responsibility: Why true security requires learning to let your partner fall apart without internalizing their emotional pain as your personal failure, allowing you to pick them back up without drowning alongside them. In this episode of the Research Like a Pro Genealogy podcast, hosts Diana and Nicole discuss the features and effectiveness of FamilySearch's new "Simple Search" tool. They explore how this experiment allows users to search billions of full-text records using natural language queries rather than traditional forms. Diana shares her experience testing the tool with her father's name, Bobby Gene Shults, demonstrating how the artificial intelligence parses results and helps distinguish between individuals with similar names. Listeners learn practical strategies for using Simple Search effectively, such as starting with broad queries and utilizing filters for collection, year, place, and record type to narrow results. Diana highlights the utility of the tool by successfully locating military muster rolls that confirm her father's service history and hospitalization during World War II. By experimenting with different search terms, spelling variations, and searching for associates, researchers can better leverage this technology to discover new documents for their family history. Grace & Grit Podcast: Helping Women Everywhere Live Happier, Healthier and More Fit Lives
What if the goal that scares you most is the one that's most worth pursuing? Not because you're guaranteed to achieve it. But because of who you'll become in the process. In this episode, I revisit a concept I've taught for years: impossible goals. The goals that require you to grow beyond your current identity, habits, and comfort zone. Using my decade long journey of writing The Consistency Code as an example, I share why the pursuit of a meaningful goal often matters more than the outcome itself. You don't need certainty. You don't need guarantees. You just need a reason that's bigger than your fear. Ready to go deeper? Grab my book, The Consistency Code: A Midlife Woman's Guide to Deep Health and Happiness, at https://theconsistencycode.com #GraceAndGrit #ImpossibleGoals #MidlifeWomen #GoalSetting #TheConsistencyCode #SecondAct #WomensWellness #SelfLeadership #DeepHealth #GrowthMindset
Does wealth determine who your kids should be friends with? In this lively roundtable episode of Travis Makes Money, Travis Chappell is joined by producer Eric and guest co-host Brandon Birkmeyer to react to a viral parenting video claiming children shouldn't associate with kids from "broke families." The conversation quickly expands into a thoughtful discussion about parenting, limiting beliefs, character, friendship, and why financial status is a poor measure of someone's values. On this episode we talk about: Reacting to the viral claim that kids shouldn't be friends with children from lower-income families Why character, integrity, and values matter far more than financial status The difference between teaching an abundance mindset and judging people by their wealth How parents can thoughtfully guide their children's friendships without controlling them The importance of exposing kids to empathy, resilience, and diverse life experiences Top 3 Takeaways Character outweighs wealth. Financial success doesn't determine whether someone is a positive influence—values, kindness, and integrity do. Teach confidence, not elitism. Parents should instill healthy beliefs about money without encouraging children to look down on others. Guide instead of controlling. Rather than choosing friends based on income, parents should help kids recognize healthy relationships and positive influences. Notable Quotes "There's some shitty rich kids, some shitty poor kids, and some shitty middle-class kids." "If you're raising your kids with strong values, they're not going to be so easily shifted by one friend's opinions." "I'd be much more worried about my kids becoming rich douchebags than having a friend who doesn't have as much money." Brian Keane has built a fitness empire that most coaches only dream about — four bestselling books, over 580 podcast episodes, a top 0.5% global podcast, and more than a thousand coaches trained through his mentorship programs. But before any of that, he was a primary school teacher who realized twenty minutes into his first day that he'd climbed the wrong ladder entirely. In this conversation, Brian breaks down exactly how fitness entrepreneurs, gym owners, and online coaches can stay relevant — and even thrive — as tools like ChatGPT and Claude start answering the same questions clients used to pay for. He walks through his SCALE framework for building an unshakeable personal brand, why chasing universal likability is killing more coaching businesses than AI ever will, and the wild story of how a plane ride home from an ayahuasca retreat turned into a 16-hour writing session that became his most recent book. Wiley — St. Anthony's Guide to Surviving the AI Apocalypse ──────────────────────────────────────────[00:07:52]Pastors Who Use AI to Write Sermons Are Cheating Themselves and Their Congregation — Wiley Calls It a Disciplinary MatterIt inserts something between the pastor and his text; prayerful study of Scripture with his own people in mind is the calling; denominations should address it formally.────────────────────────────────────────[00:22:05]Wiley's Three Principles From St. Anthony: Go to the Analog, Discern the Spirits, Fight for Your BodyThe desert is no longer a location — it's the analog world; AI is a glorified calculator with nobody home; the internet of bodies is coming and you must refuse to become part of it.────────────────────────────────────────[00:25:17]Peter Thiel Compares Himself to Aragorn Using Palantir Against Sauron — Wiley Asked Afterward: Do You Have That Kind of Self-Mastery?Thiel argued private industry is always two steps ahead of government and functions as a restraint on the antichrist system; he explicitly rejected C.S. Lewis's Abolition of Man.────────────────────────────────────────[00:42:16]Thiel Equates Progress With Christianity — Calls Any Regulation of AI AntichristHe credited Christianity with the technological revolution; anyone who inhibits technological progress, including Pope Leo XIII, he considers antichrist; he praised Rushdoony's work on private education. ──────────────────────────────────────── ── Interview 2: Dr. Darrell Wolfe — DOD Protocol / Escape the Matrix ──────────────────────────────────────────[01:15:17]Trauma-Drama Chemical Dumps Happen 110-120 Times Per Day Since COVID — Up From 3 Per Month 75 Years AgoCortisol, adrenaline, and histamine are acidic; before COVID the body could recover; now most people never stop dripping stress hormones, creating chronic acidic inflammation.────────────────────────────────────────[01:16:16]There Is No Cancer — There Is Only Cellular Oxygen Suffocation Caused by InflammationNobel laureate Dr. Otto Warburg proved cancer is a 35% drop in cellular oxygen; cells switch to fermenting lactic acid to survive; the mutation narrative was designed to obscure this.────────────────────────────────────────[01:23:35]Children Are Now Medium Brown Inside at Age 10 From Chronic Inflammation — 75 Years Ago That Happened at 40Human tissue browns like meat in an oven; by age 30 most people are dark brown internally; Wolf says autopsists confirm it; inflammation is the fire, chronic chemical exposure is the fuel.────────────────────────────────────────[01:27:08]When Cellular Electrical Conductivity Drops 25%, Parasites Begin — at 35%, Cancer FollowsHealthy cells run at 0.04 volts; a 15% voltage drop cuts oxygen and creates pain; at 25% the body begins decomposing living tissue; at 35% cells switch metabolic pathways — that is cancer. ──────────────────────────────────────── Money should have intrinsic value AND transactional privacy: Go to https://davidknight.gold/ for great deals on physical gold/silver For 10% off Gerald Celente's prescient Trends Journal, go to https://trendsjournal.com/ and enter the code “KNIGHT” For high quality made in America products go to HomeSteadProducts.shop and use promo code “Knight” for 10% off your purchases Find out more about the show and where you can watch it at TheDavidKnightShow.com If you would like to support the show and our family please consider subscribing monthly here: SubscribeStar https://www.subscribestar.com/the-david-knight-show Or you can send a donation throughMail: David Knight POB 994 Kodak, TN 37764Zelle: @DavidKnightShow@protonmail.comCash App at: $davidknightshowBTC to: bc1qkuec29hkuye4xse9unh7nptvu3y9qmv24vanh7Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-real-david-knight-show--5282736/support.

In this week's episode of the podcast, the conversation focused on the critical role of home environment and systems in supporting executive function—especially for neurodivergent families. It's not about Pinterest-perfect organization, but about designing spaces and routines that work with your brain, not against it. Key Takeaways Design Over Discipline: Many executive function challenges are solved through smart environment design, not just motivation or checklists. Moving decisions from the brain into the environment can reduce overwhelm and increase independence. Zones Make Life Easier: Creating dedicated zones—like reading nooks, creative spaces, launch zones near exits, and recharge corners—helps reduce cognitive load and makes daily transitions smoother. Visible, Forgiving Systems Win: The discussion explored the power of visual cues (checklists, labels, color coding) over constant verbal reminders. Systems should be simple, obvious, and evolve as your family's needs change. Art Marketing Podcast: How to Sell Art Online and Generate Consistent Monthly Sales
I've worked out with my buddy Dom for years. There's normal Dom, and then there's the Dom who has a race coming up. Normal Dom shows up when I show up and does the same workout I do. Race Dom shows up thirty minutes early, goes for a run first, and then does our entire normal workout on top of it. Nothing changed about Dom. What changed is there's a race on the calendar. Want to join Patrick for a live webinar? He hosts one every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Register here: asf.today/webinar Q4 is that race. And it's the one you didn't realize I signed you up for. It starts October 1st, which is about two months out — and here's what most artists get wrong: mid-October isn't your launch. It's your deadline. Nearly half of holiday shoppers say they start before Halloween. By the middle of October, 40% already know exactly what they're buying. The big retailers figured this out years ago — Best Buy's own press release last year announced they were "putting the creep in holiday creep" and kicking the season off on Halloween. This episode is the broad game plan for getting ready. The tactics come next, week by week, between now and October. In this episode: Normal Dom vs. Race Dom — and the small detail in that story that's really the whole instruction manual Why the "Rule of 7" is marketing folklore with no study behind it, and the 1959 experiment that makes the point far better Effective frequency explained as reps and sets: the same 13 ads crammed into 13 weeks spike and then collapse; spread across a year, they hold The number that should worry you — by mid-October, 40% of shoppers already know exactly what they're buying Attention arrives in October. Money arrives in December. Why that's better news for artists than it first sounds Tell your story first, show your art second — and how that one reordering kills the "I don't have enough to post" problem for good Three questions to answer before you get out of the car: can you transact, are you open for commissions, are you actually marketing The Gallery Test pointed straight at December — what a real gallery does differently for the holidays, and the digital twin of every one of those moves The Bathroom Art Sale — how naming the destination removes the friction that quietly kills art sales, and why "under the tree" works even better Why commissions carry a hard deadline, and what that means for your October This week's homework: answer three questions honestly. Is your website set up so a total stranger can buy without having to ask you a single question? Are you open for commissions? And are you actively marketing right now — not in October, right now? Whichever one you answered no to is where the next two months go. Resources mentioned: Art Storefronts — the storefront engine for working artists Bankrate Holiday Spending Report — nearly half of shoppers start before Halloween NRF Holiday Survey — when shoppers really start browsing and buying Zielske, The Remembering and Forgetting of Advertising (1959) — the study behind the whole episode Related episodes: A Greek Warship, a Horse Named Sally — the full anatomy of a sale. Swap Mother's Day for Black Friday and run it Art-Selling Holidays You're Sitting Out — the calendar as a forcing function The Coffee Shop Test — why your social media is failing The Gallery Test — should artists list prices on their website? The Artist's Guide to Instagram Live — even if you hate being on camera Here's the takeaway. You've been creating for a long time. Not enough people have seen your art. You want to sell it — and Q4 is the single best window all year long to do exactly that. So enjoy your summer, genuinely, by all means. Just keep it in the back of your head that Q4 is coming, and start putting the reps in now. Your art will thank you. Stay Up To Date With The Latest https://linktr.ee/artmarketingpodcast
What do you do when the person who loves you most says something that makes you feel shame — even when they don't mean it that way?In this episode, we answer a question from Chase Club member Ashton, who's 31 weeks pregnant and navigating the emotional complexity of a husband who keeps checking in on her workouts. We explore the gap between what someone actually says and the story we tell ourselves about it, why seasons of life demand fundamentally different things from us, and how to communicate your real needs clearly and without judgment.

Send us Fan MailAnd….we're BACK with a fresh new season of the Bare Marriage podcast! I spent years collecting self help tools that never changed my life. Books. Podcasts. Courses. Certifications. I loved learning, but eventually I had to confront an uncomfortable truth: knowing what to do and doing it are not the same thing. In this episode, I explore the difference between self help and self leadership. One gathers tools. The other uses them. Both have value. But only one creates meaningful change. If you've ever felt like you know exactly what you need to do but still aren't doing it, this conversation is for you. Because the goal was never to become an expert in personal development. The goal was always to learn how to lead yourself. Ready to go deeper? Today I'm hosting Dr. Jordan Barber to uncover how sexual health is connected to pelvic floor dysfunction, nerve compression, trauma, toxins, hormones, and lifestyle choices. Dr. Barber shares how his background in Chinese medicine and acupuncture has shaped his approach to identifying the root causes of ED rather than masking symptoms with quick fixes. He also offers practical strategies men can use to support better sexual function and longevity. Crewing an ultramarathon is so much more than handing someone water and cheering from the sidelines. Over the past few years of crewing Kevin through multiple 100-mile races, I've learned that my role isn't just to support him. It's to help him get to the finish line. That mindset completely changed the way I approach race day. In this episode, I share the lessons I've learned, the mistakes I've made, and the systems we've developed that have made every race smoother than the last.Kevin also shares what it's like from the runner's perspective and what actually helps when you're hours into an ultramarathon and your brain is running low on energy. On this, our 335th Evolutionary Lens livestream, we discuss the time-traveling money printer in its newest instantiation: Trump's monetization of Truth Social, wherein you pay to get a microsecond advantage in the market. Like so many before him, he's becoming wealthy without generating wealth. But a president should be working to generate wealth for his country, and its citizens. Then: discussion of risk, exploration and frontiers in the context of Pa Ingalls and the Little House on the Prairie series, the fearful response to such things by many women, and the motorcycle accident that our son Toby was just in. One of history's most powerful rulers was shaped by a teacher he never met. In this episode, Ryan talks with Professor William O. Stephens about how Marcus Aurelius discovered Epictetus, why the former slave's teachings hit him so deeply, and how those ideas about freedom, power, and self-mastery helped shape the philosopher king.William O. Stephens is a philosopher specializing in Stoicism, ethics, and ancient philosophy. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and spent over 30 years teaching at Creighton University, where he is now Professor Emeritus. His work spans topics like friendship, ecology, and human nature, with a focus on Stoic thought. His latest book is Marcus Aurelius: Philosopher-King (2025), and he is also the author of Marcus Aurelius: A Guide for the Perplexed, Epictetus's Encheiridion: A New Translation and Guide to Stoic Ethics, and Stoic Ethics: Epictetus and Happiness as Freedom. Knowing when to refer and when to manage a patient yourself is one of the biggest clinical judgment skills you will build in primary care. It can also be a common source of confusion on NP boards, especially when referral feels like the safest answer. In this episode, Alex and I break down how to think through referral decisions using patient stability, red flags, scope of practice, and response to first-line treatment. We walk through primary care scenarios involving hypertension and diabetes to show why the same diagnosis may be managed in one situation and referred in another. Fifteen years ago, Eric Ries handed a generation of founders a playbook. When Eli was in a Palo Alto-based startup accelerator in 2011, The Lean Startup felt like the only book anyone in that ecosystem was talking about. It was in the middle of a wildly optimistic moment for tech. Marc Andreessen declared that “software is eating the world,” social media was blooming, and there was a widespread belief that technology was about to democratize everything and bring us closer together. Concepts like the MVP (“minimum viable product,”), the pivot, and build-measure-learn became the operating language of Silicon Valley. This is a preview of a premium episode. Listen to the full interview on our Substack: https://designbetterpodcast.com/p/eric-ries But a lot of the companies built on those ideas went on to get corrupted by forces Eric hadn't yet named. His new book, Incorruptible: Why Good Companies Go Bad and How Great Companies Stay Great, is his reckoning with what happens after you build something great — and how to keep it from falling apart. Buy the book In this conversation, we get into why speed itself wasn't the problem, but treating a rising stock price as proof of health is like assuming more exhaust means a faster car. Eric explains why doing the right thing 100% of the time is actually easier than doing it 98% of the time, and how companies behave like superorganisms with their own emergent character — a point he illustrates with a genuinely mind-bending study about ants solving a puzzle that no single ant ever could. We talk about the “harder is easier” principle through stories from Patagonia and the long-term stock exchange he built as a design challenge, and why the value a company makes comes from the design of its products. And because we couldn't resist, we get into AI slop, LLM psychosis, and Eric's clear, simple antidote: never ask these tools to make you an artifact — ask them to teach you how to make one yourself. Bio Over the last two decades, Eric Ries's ideas about continuous innovation, long-term thinking, governance, and market reform have reshaped company building and management practices. He is the creator of the Lean Startup method, and the author of the New York Times bestseller The Lean Startup; The Leader's Guide; and The Startup Way. As a founder, he has put his own ideas into practice with The Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE); Answer.AI, an AI R&D lab; the Lean Startup Co, which teaches and supports the implementation of Lean Startup; Virgil, a legal services startup; and IMVU, where the ideas that became the Lean Startup method were forged. On his podcast, The Eric Ries Show, he talks to guests including world-class technologists, thought leaders, and executives working to build profitable companies for the long-term benefit of society. Eric has served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Harvard Business School and IDEO. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and three children. *** Premium Episodes on Design Better This is a premium episode on Design Better.
