A few morons misinterpret all your favorite classic and modern literature. Tune in to find out what masterpiece we're going to butcher this week!
Does your life feel like a meaningless slog from one bender to the next? Same, dawg. Welcome to the podcast, where today we read Post Office by Charles Bukowski. We also cover such fun topics as experimental taser therapy, the stimulant cycle, and the rapidly encroaching inevitability of death. Love you
There's not very much Oy in this one so it's basically a waste of time. We read the first section of "Wizard and Glass," book 4 of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, and realistically, most of it should've just been the end of the last book. On a related note, why do streaming services keep the "recap of last weeks episode" segment of a show when they know I'm going to watch all the episodes back to back? It's bewildering.
If you're wondering, "Can this fucking book please just be over already?" then the answer to your question is yes! But first, let's do an 80 page chase scene; it's like an action movie written by hippies. Enjoy!
We spend a lot of time not discussing the book this week, but luckily I cut a lot of it out so I wouldn't have to do any editing. You're welcome!
We spend most of this episode discussing Michigan No Fault Auto Insurance laws, but eventually we get back to Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles series. Don't miss Nic doing some questionably racist accents and impressions.
Hey class, welcome to another delightful episode of At a 4th Grade Level. Tonight, we're working through the second quarter of "The Monkey Wrench Gang" by Edward Abbey, and it's a real doozy. Hold onto your pants and enjoy!
In this episode, we finish up book 3 of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, The Waste Lands. We try to skip all the dumb "plot" and "character development" and such and focus on what you're really here for, which is Oy billybumbling his was through life. What a fun little guy :)
Have you ever wanted to commit wanton vandalism under the guise of environmentalism? Well boy do I have the book for you. Welcome to The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey. In this episode, we tell fun paramedic stories and read the first 7 chapters of the book.
You might be asking yourself, "Why do they keep making these episodes so fucking long?" Well this time we did it for your benefit: to prevent the creation of a part 2. That's right, we did the whole damn thing in one go. Stay tuned to the end to hear about Tony's book, coming to stores near you in 30 or so years.
Hey class, welcome to our first episode on Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series. We try something new this week which is starting 300 pages into the 3rd book in an 8 book series. Let us know how terrible of an idea it was by just sending me a mean text.
We talk shit about our friends, Nic tells a story, and we once again fail to make any meaningful progress through the plot of Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle series. Can you call it a series if it only has two books? Find out in this episode (spoiler: we're not really sure).
In this episode, we introduce our new segment, "Fuck me, I was wrong" where we find out that all of our bold predictions were just absolutely terrible. Also, we finish the book and give it a rating.
In this episode, we hear some of Nic's adderall fueled theories on why every character is actually a fae in The Wise Man's Fear (Kingkiller Chronicle book 1) by Patrick Rothfuss.Tune in to find out how you can contribute to ending Patrick Rothfuss' decade long dry spell and get this fuckin series finished!
This time, our technology issues are fixed, but we do a bad job reiterating a lot of what we said in episode 1 because we thought it was lost. Sad :'(Also, we continue through the middle of Artemis by Andy Weir.
On this choppy, shitty episode, we mostly struggle with technology, but also have our first discussion on Artemis by Andy Weir.
