What if nature isn't simply good for us—but foundational to human health and wellbeing? In this episode of ROOTED, I sit down with naturopathic doctor and NatureQuant advisor Dr. Owen Wiseman to explore the growing evidence connecting nature exposure to better physical health, mental wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life. But this conversation goes beyond individual health habits. Together, we explore how cities, healthcare systems, schools, workplaces, and communities are shaped by access to nature—and what happens when generations become disconnected from the natural world. Owen introduces concepts like environmental generational amnesia and shifting baseline syndrome, explains how nature prescriptions are being integrated into healthcare in Canada, and makes a compelling case for viewing nature not as a luxury, but as essential infrastructure. If we are nature, what are the consequences of designing lives and systems that keep us apart from it? This conversation invites us to think differently about health, wellbeing, and the role nature plays in helping both people and communities thrive. Most mortgage professionals have no idea how many critical housing decisions are being made behind closed doors in Washington, D.C.While most of us are focused on rates, inventory, and closing loans, there are people working every day on Capitol Hill to influence the policies that will shape the future of homeownership, housing affordability, and mortgage lending. One of those people is Justin Wiseman. As the Mortgage Bankers Association's leading voice in Washington, Justin is in the room where many of these conversations happen. In this episode of Laugh, Lend & Eat, we discuss:• Why housing affordability has become a national political issue• What Congress is doing about housing supply• The Road to Housing Act and what it could mean for consumers• The regulatory issues mortgage professionals should be watching• How policy decisions made in D.C. ultimately impact borrowers and lenders across AmericaWhether you're a mortgage professional, Realtor, industry executive, or simply someone who cares about the future of housing, this conversation provides an inside look at what's happening in our nation's capital.Who's fighting for you in Washington, D.C.?Justin Wiseman. That's who.
In April, the four crew members of NASA's Artemis II mission were the first humans to ever glimpse something that cannot be seen from Earth—the so-called dark side of the moon. The mission's commander, the former Navy captain Reid Wiseman, is fifty years old, which also makes him the oldest person ever to travel beyond low Earth orbit. Wiseman sat down recently with the New Yorker contributor David W. Brown. They talked about the challenge of NASA returning to the moon after many decades, Wiseman's struggle to parent his two daughters while training, and the strangeness and beauty of returning to Earth. “One thing that really did surprise me was how quickly Earth gets so small out the window,” Wiseman explains. “It's like a fingernail, almost; the size of a quarter. It's just impossibly tiny out there. There's a little tiny super-bright crescent of an Earth.” Further reading and listening: “The Leader of NASA's Artemis II Mission Is Still Moonstruck,” by David W. Human value story on right conduct and character development. A young plant can be moulded but a tree will break when we attempt to. Right values should be inculcated at a young age and any wrong actions should be nipped at the bud. A stitch in time saves nine. The earlier one develops right values it will go deep down and have positive impact. Similarly when wrong or bad habits are cultivated; it is very difficult to eliminate if it is not addressed at the right time.http://saibalsanskaar.wordpress.com

Things Said Wk2 - Pastor Ross Wiseman by Ross Wiseman
Remember God loves you so much he sent his Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for your sins. You are of great value. Jesus loves you and He is just a prayer away!
Stories Covered 1. Pentagon Releases 162 Declassified UAP Files (May 8, 2026) • The Pentagon launched a public portal at war.gov/UFO on Friday 8 May, releasing 162 declassified files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. • Files include 120 PDF documents, 28 videos, and 14 images — spanning sightings from the 1940s to 2025. • The PURSUE program (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters) will release additional files on a rolling basis every few weeks. • The files show no evidence of extraterrestrial contact or government cover-up; they are classified as 'unresolved cases.' • Notable items include footage of a football-shaped UAP near Japan, a white orb over Syria, and Apollo 17 lunar imagery showing unexplained lights. 2. SpaceX Starship V3 Super Heavy — Full 33-Engine Static Fire (May 7, 2026) • SpaceX completed the first successful full-duration, full-thrust static fire of the Super Heavy V3 booster at Starbase, Texas, on 7 May. • All 33 Raptor V3 engines fired simultaneously — the most powerful ground test of any rocket first stage in history. • Previous tests on 15 April ended early due to ground equipment issues; the 7 May test went the full duration. • The Starship V3 Ship upper stage also completed its static fire in April — both vehicle halves now cleared for flight. • SpaceX is targeting 15 May for Starship Flight 12, a suborbital test mission. Starship is central to NASA's Artemis lunar landing system. 3. SpaceX CRS-34 — ISS Resupply Launch (12 May 2026) • Launch: 7:16 PM EDT, Tuesday 12 May from SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. • Cargo: approximately 6,500 pounds, including scientific experiments, food, equipment, and crew supplies. • Autonomous docking scheduled: ~9:50 AM EDT, Thursday 14 May, at Harmony module's forward port. • Key payloads: Laplace (planet formation dust study), STORIE (space weather / ring current monitoring), wooden bone scaffold (osteoporosis research), and red blood cell / spleen change investigation. • Watch live on NASA+, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and NASA's website from 7:00 PM EDT on 12 May. 4. JWST Reveals the Birthplace of Cosmic Buckyballs — Planetary Nebula Tc 1 • Western University astronomers returned to planetary nebula Tc 1 (10,000+ light-years away, constellation Ara) using JWST's Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI). • First detected buckyballs (buckminsterfullerene / C60 molecules) in space here in 2010 using Spitzer; now JWST reveals the full structure for the first time. • Buckyballs are concentrated in a thin spherical shell around the central white dwarf — arranged like 'one giant buckyball.' • JWST imagery also reveals an unexplained upside-down question mark feature at the nebula's heart. • Current theoretical models don't fully explain the buckyballs' observed infrared emissions — multiple new papers are in preparation. • Buckyballs found in meteorites on Earth; understanding their space origins provides clues about organic chemistry and possibly life's building blocks. 5. Artemis 2 — Far-Side Moon Images (Published May 2026) • Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy collaborated pre-mission with Commander Reid Wiseman to plan detailed lunar photography during the Artemis 2 flyby. • McCarthy's image-stacking technique — applied to Wiseman's far-side photographs taken during the 6 April lunar flyby — has produced unprecedented colour mineral maps of the far side. • Colours reveal mineral composition variations (browns, blues, reds) not visible to the naked eye — described as 'cyborg vision' for the Moon. • NASA has released the full Artemis 2 photo archive: 12,217 images now publicly available. • Full archive: NASA astronaut photography public archive (link in episode resources). 6. The 2026 Fireball Surge — AMS Analysis (Published May 2026) • The American Meteor Society reports an anomalous spike in large fireball events in Q1 2026 that 'warrants serious investigation.' • Total Q1 event count (2,046) is only marginally above historical norms; the anomaly is in the SIZE of events — the largest fireballs are happening at roughly double the historical rate. • March 2026: 40+ major events, including a 3,229-witness fireball over Europe (8 Mar), an Ohio sonic boom explosion (17 Mar), and a meteorite through a Houston roof (21 Mar). • 79% of Q1's high-witness fireball events produced confirmed sonic booms — a strong physical indicator of large, dense incoming objects. • Anthelion sporadic source (opposite the Sun) is producing roughly double its normal activity; activity concentrated in a single 1,000-square-degree patch. • Ruling out explanations: not a new shower, not seasonal variation alone, not reporting bias. • AMS calling for expanded automated all-sky camera networks and better cross-referencing with radar, infrasound, and satellite data.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/astronomy-daily-space-news-updates--5648921/support.Sponsor Details:Ensure your online privacy by using NordVPN. Stories in This Episode 1. The Atmosphere That Shouldn't Exist Japanese astronomers have detected a thin atmosphere around trans-Neptunian object 2002 XV93 — a Kuiper Belt body just 500 km across. Published in Nature Astronomy, the discovery challenges long-held assumptions about which bodies can retain atmospheres. Possible causes include cryovolcanism or a recent cometary impact. Lead researcher: Dr Ko Arimatsu, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. 2. NASA Releases 12,000+ Artemis II Photos + Artemis III Update NASA has published more than 12,000 high-resolution images from the Artemis II mission, captured using Nikon cameras and iPhone 17 devices by the crew of Wiseman, Glover, Koch, and Hansen. The archive includes lunar far-side close-ups, Earthset images, star trails, and a solar eclipse from space. Meanwhile, the Artemis III SLS core stage has arrived at Kennedy Space Center for assembly, with a mid-2027 launch targeting a 460 km Earth-orbit docking test. 3. Blue Origin's Endurance Passes NASA Vacuum Test Blue Origin's Blue Moon Mark 1 uncrewed cargo lander (nickname: Endurance) has completed thermal vacuum testing inside Chamber A at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston. The lander is targeted for the Moon's south polar region later in 2026, carrying stereo cameras and a laser retroreflector array. MK1 informs the development of the crewed Blue Moon Mark 2. 4. Solar Activity Accelerates Space Debris Reentry A study published today in Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences tracked 17 pieces of orbital debris through three solar cycles (1986–2024). Researchers at India's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre found that once sunspot numbers reach ~70% of their cycle peak, orbital decay rates increase sharply due to thermosphere expansion and increased drag. Lead researcher: Ayisha Ashruf. 5. Radar Drones Could Map Hidden Water Ice on Mars A new study in Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets proposes using low-flying radar-equipped drones to precisely map debris-covered glaciers on Mars. Tests on Earth's Galena Creek Rock Glacier in Wyoming demonstrated the technique can resolve the ice-debris boundary with unprecedented precision — information critical for future human missions planning to use Martian water resources. 6. Comet C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS — Now Visible from Southern Hemisphere Having passed perihelion on 19 April 2026 (at ~75 million km from the Sun) and peak northern hemisphere visibility, Comet C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS is now emerging in southern skies. Currently in Eridanus and heading toward Orion, the comet will pass within ~2° of the Orion Nebula 10–12 May. Best viewing conditions: around new moon 16 May. The comet is on a hyperbolic trajectory and will not return. Today in The Episcopal Consecrations, we continue building the case for a state of necessity by examining the heart of Catholic life: the liturgy. Fr. Wiseman explores how the widespread changes to the Mass and the sacraments have affected the spiritual life of the faithful—and even the identity of the priesthood itself. What happens when the Church's worship no longer clearly expresses her doctrine? How does the way we pray shape what we believe? Drawing on the principle lex orandi, lex credendi, this episode shows how liturgical changes can create a grave and general threat to souls, and why this crisis cannot be ignored. Jonathan Wiseman, General Counsel and Chief People Officer at Ocado Retail, joins Scott Brown to share practical lessons on influence, adaptability, and building a truly commercial legal career. In this episode of Lessons I Learned in Law, Jonathan reflects on his dual role leading both legal and people functions within a fast-growing retail joint venture between Ocado and Marks & Spencer. He shares why the most effective in-house lawyers don't stay confined to their “legal lane,” but instead operate confidently in the grey areas between legal risk, commercial decision-making, and broader business strategy.Jonathan's second lesson centres on career progression—encouraging lawyers to take opportunities when they arise, even when they don't perfectly align with a pre-defined plan. He candidly discusses his initial hesitation in stepping into a Chief People Officer role and how that decision ultimately expanded his leadership capability and perspective. His final insight focuses on commercial judgement. Rather than trying to “win” every legal point, he explains why the best long-term outcomes come from building sustainable relationships and balancing legal precision with business reality. It's a reminder that success in-house is as much about collaboration and trust as it is about technical expertise.Listeners also get a glimpse into Jonathan's personal side, from navigating music choices on family car journeys to his reflections on how AI is already reshaping both legal and HR functions. This episode is brought to you in partnership with Wordsmith AI — the legal AI platform built specifically for in-house teams.Wordsmith Legal AIGuest RecommendationsSong: Waterloo Sunset – The Kinks Resources & Links Mentioned in This EpisodeRegister your interest in joining The Lodge In-house Legal Community: https://bit.ly/TheLodgebyHB Listen to the PodcastSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/ Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/4 YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/Connect with Heriot Brownhttps://heriotbrown.com/ About Heriot Brown: At Heriot Brown, we help lawyers find fulfilment in their careers. In this episode of the Alcohol Minimalist Podcast, Molly talks with J.W. Wiseman, founder of Curious Elixirs, about the rise of craft non-alcoholic cocktails and why they matter so much for people who want a more peaceful relationship with alcohol. J.W. shares how his own desire to drink less led him to create one of the earliest brands in the non-alcoholic beverage space, long before “sober curious” became a mainstream term. Together, Molly and J.W. explore the idea that drinking less does not have to mean settling for something boring, basic, or deprived—it can still feel elevated, flavorful, social, and deeply satisfying. From the origins of Curious Elixirs in 2015 to the role of functional herbs, adaptogens, and intentional drink design, this conversation offers a fresh look at how non-alcoholic beverages can support people across the sobriety spectrum. Molly also challenges the common belief that a drink needs alcohol to be worth enjoying, reminding listeners that taste, ritual, and experience matter too. In This Episode, You'll Hear: Why J.W. started Curious Elixirs before the term “sober curious” even existed How non-alcoholic beverages can support a more intentional relationship with alcohol Why flavor, ritual, and connection matter more than alcohol itself How Curious Elixirs helped pioneer the craft, functional non-alcoholic cocktail category The role of herbs and adaptogens in creating drinks that feel sophisticated and supportive Why “less alcohol” does not have to mean “less fun” How J.W.'s own drinking habits pushed him to rethink what he wanted alcohol to do in his life Key TakeawaysJ.W. explains that people do not need alcohol to have fun—they need connection, intention, and something that genuinely feels good in their body. That idea aligns beautifully with the Alcohol Minimalist philosophy: creating a relationship with alcohol that is conscious, peaceful, and free from all-or-nothing thinking. This episode also highlights an important mindset shift: non-alcoholic drinks are not “less than.” They can be crafted, complex, beautiful, and worthy of the same appreciation people often reserve for alcoholic beverages. Molly and J.W. discuss how that reframe opens up more options for people who want to drink less without feeling like they are missing out. And finally, J.W.'s story is a reminder that change often starts with curiosity. What began as a personal effort to cut back and reset his tolerance eventually became a company built to help others find more freedom and flexibility in how they drink. About the GuestJ.W. Wiseman is the founder of Curious Elixirs, one of the early leaders in the non-alcoholic cocktail movement. Stay connected with us at americangroundradio.com, on Facebook, and Instagram. You're listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for April 17, 2026. We open with a story that is equal parts political scandal and perfect metaphor — Gavin Newsom's political PAC spent $1.5 million buying 67,000 copies of his own memoir and handing them out to donors, manufacturing a bestseller label out of thin air. We break down what the FEC rules actually say, why this may or may not be legal, and why it doesn't matter — because the real story is that Gavin Newsom is exactly as artificial as this stunt suggests. A plastic politician buying his own book to build a presidential resume is not a campaign strategy. It's a confession. In our Top 3 Things You Need to Know, Iran has announced it is reopening the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping — and oil prices dropped 10% worldwide within hours. We give you our honest read on whether Iran's sudden cooperation is genuine or a strategic ruse, why Trump's blockade of Iranian ports remains in place as leverage over the nuclear program, and what it means that the first ship through the newly reopened strait was a cruise ship. Then we dig into the House blocking a FISA extension — the same surveillance law the Obama administration used to spy on the Trump campaign — and why the Democrats who used it are now suddenly against it. Plus, a Soros-backed Minneapolis district attorney has issued an arrest warrant for an ICE officer who drew his weapon during a confrontation on the highway, while refusing to prosecute a single activist for weeks of violent attacks against ICE officers in that city. Our American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson tackle one of the most personal and emotionally complex questions families face — what do you do when one sibling carries the entire burden of caring for an aging parent while the others aren't showing up? We get into the difference between checking in and actually showing up, why resentment is a trap even when it's completely justified, how childhood dynamics resurface when parents need care, and why open communication may be the only thing that keeps a family from fracturing under the weight of it all. Then we dig into a stat that should stop every American who's been told we should be more like Europe dead in their tracks. According to a study by the Institute of Economic Affairs, if Britain became the 51st state, most Brits think they'd rank seventh in GDP per capita. The reality — they'd be dead last. Below Mississippi. We walk through where Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and most of Europe actually fall on the list, explain why open borders, green energy mandates, and free speech regulations have quietly gutted European living standards, and make the case that Europe should be trying to be more like America — not the other way around. We also cover the Artemis II mission's spiritual aftermath — Commander Reed Wiseman, who describes himself as not a particularly religious man, immediately sought out the Navy chaplain on the rescue ship when they splashed down in the Pacific. When the chaplain walked in wearing a cross on his collar, Wiseman broke down in tears. We talk about what it means when the farthest journey from Earth any human crew has ever taken ends with a man weeping before a chaplain he'd never met. We discuss Elon Musk's proposal for universal high-income checks funded by AI and robotics — and why, even if the robots are doing the work, universal government income is still communism. Scripture is clear. Genesis places man in the garden not to sit idle, but to tend it. And we close out with Fairfax County, Virginia — right next to Arlington National Cemetery, 50 miles from the Pentagon — canceling Veterans Day as a school holiday while keeping Indigenous Peoples Day. We call it what it is. And a 91-year-old woman in Westlake, Ohio didn't answer her daily wellness check call, didn't answer her family, and didn't answer the door when police knocked. Officers used the garage code to get in. They found her alive and well in her bedroom, chasing her all-time high score on a video game. May your pursuit of happiness bring you joy. Franchise financing has become one of the most important factors shaping how franchise brands grow in today's market. As franchise candidates become more informed, more cautious, and more analytical in how they evaluate opportunities, financing is no longer just a backend transaction. It has become a defining part of franchise development strategy, influencing how brands attract qualified candidates, support expansion, and sustain long-term performance. For Edith Wiseman, President of FRANdata, franchise financing sits at the center of a much larger conversation about data, decision-making, and growth intelligence. With more than two decades in franchising, Edith has built a reputation as one of the industry's most trusted authorities on franchise performance, lender confidence, and financial readiness. Her work helps franchisors, lenders, and advisors understand what drives stronger franchise systems and why access to accurate information matters more than ever. At a time when many businesses rely heavily on assumptions or surface-level market signals, franchise financing requires a deeper understanding of how brands actually perform. Lending decisions are increasingly tied to unit economics, growth consistency, resale patterns, and franchisee stability. That means franchisors seeking stronger growth must think beyond lead generation and recruitment messaging. They must also understand how their brand is perceived financially by lenders and how their system compares within the broader franchise marketplace. That is where FRANdata has created lasting value across the industry. By tracking franchise performance, ownership patterns, growth trends, and lending criteria across thousands of brands, the company has become a critical resource for organizations looking to remove uncertainty from major growth decisions. Rather than relying on anecdotal feedback or broad assumptions, brands can use data to identify where they stand, where friction exists, and what changes may improve financing outcomes. The importance of franchise financing has grown as the profile of today's franchise buyer has changed. Modern candidates often arrive with more research, more questions, and greater awareness of available options. Many already understand franchise disclosure documents, compare categories across sectors, and evaluate return potential before ever entering serious discussions. That level of sophistication means franchisors must communicate financial strength clearly and back growth plans with credible evidence. For established brands, financing also affects how quickly multi-unit operators move. A franchisee may sign development agreements, but capital decisions often depend on competing opportunities, portfolio priorities, and overall confidence in brand performance. In many cases, ownership today is far more layered than it appears at first glance. A single operator may hold interests across multiple brands, sectors, or partnerships, making growth decisions far more complex than traditional franchise development models assumed. This complexity is why franchise financing can no longer be treated as a separate department or lender issue. It touches development, operations, franchise relations, and strategic planning. Brands that understand this connection often make stronger decisions because they view financing as part of the larger health of the system rather than a simple approval process. Ford Saeks has long emphasized that growth decisions improve when leaders ask better questions before choosing tactics. Data alone is not enough unless it is interpreted correctly and tied to a specific business challenge. In franchising, that means understanding not only whether a brand wants to grow, but what type of growth it is prepared for, what barriers exist, and how those realities affect financing confidence. That perspective is especially important as more business leaders turn to artificial intelligence and public tools for quick answers. While technology can surface broad trends, franchise financing depends on clean, verified, and highly specific information. Small inaccuracies in investment ranges, unit economics, or brand comparisons can quickly distort major decisions. Directionally correct is often not enough when capital, lending relationships, and long-term development are at stake. The brands that continue to outperform are often the ones willing to look closely at what the numbers actually reveal. Sometimes that confirms a strategy. Other times it exposes blind spots that would otherwise remain hidden until growth slows or financing becomes harder to secure. Through FRANdata and The Franchise Registry, Edith Wiseman continues to help franchisors navigate that reality with clarity. Her work reinforces a simple but powerful truth: franchise financing is not only about securing capital. It is about creating stronger systems, reducing uncertainty, and building growth on facts rather than assumptions. As franchising continues to evolve, brands that understand financing as part of their strategic foundation will be better positioned to expand with confidence, attract stronger operators, and compete in a market where information increasingly determines opportunity. The Preacher turns from his experiments to face the one fact that wrecks every human résumé: the wise man and the fool end up in the same hole. Qoheleth hates life for a minute because all his toil will be handed over to someone who did not work for it, and who may turn out to be a fool. Then he pivots. Eat, drink, and find enjoyment in your toil, because even that comes from the hand of God. To the one who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; to the sinner He gives the business of gathering and collecting, only to hand it to someone else. The Rev. Sean Willman, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsdale, MI, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Ecclesiastes 2:12–26. To learn more about St. Paul's in Hillsdale, visit stpauls-hillsdale.org. What does a man gain from all his toil under the sun? Solomon asked that question three thousand years ago, and it still cuts. Ecclesiastes is the Bible's most unflinching book about work, wealth, wisdom, and the ache nothing in this life can fill. It is also one of the most pastoral, because the Preacher tells the truth about death, time, and meaning without leaving the reader in despair. Pastor Booe and guest pastors from across the Synod study it verse by verse, following Solomon's argument to where it finally lands: fear God and keep His commandments. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. The Artemis II mission is paving the way for humans to land on the moon in 2028, and Mars further on down the road. Like most NASA missions and vehicles, the name is taken from mythology, with Artemis specifically chosen because of her relationship with Apollo. While conspiracy videos are a dime-a-dozen on the Internet, with every paranoid schizophrenic identifying supposed anomalies, there are some serious questions that are both recent and date back to 1969 that require asking. While most conspiracy videos are nonsense, Reid Wiseman and President Trump have seemingly stated that this will be the first trip to the moon, something that seems to confirm cryptic statements from Buzz Aldrin. In the recent movie “Fly me to the Moon,” a government gent attempts to fake the 1969 moon landing under a program called Project Artemis, a sort of new Capricorn I. Artemis II also launched on April Fool's Day. Considering that NASA has distributed petrified wood as moon rock samples and even deleted the original footage, more questions are left unanswered every year. Also, does NASA actually mean “deceive” in Hebrew and what could reverse speech from Bob Lazar tell us about space? There is also the possibility that we are being lied to with blatantly flawed space mission videos to convince us all it is fake in order to cover for a much more sophisticated space program.https://www.space.com/nasa-apollo-11-moonwalk-lost-tapes-auction-statement.html https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna32581790 https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/sp-4402.pdf*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. To celebrate NASA's Artemis II test flight, scheduled for launch on Wednesday, April 1st, we're re-casting Preston's conversation with NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman from May 2023. The Artemis II test flight will be crewed by Commander Reid, Pilot Victor Glover, Astronaut Christina Koch, and Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen for the 10-day lunar flyby mission, which will test the Orion spacecraft's life-support systems for the first time with humans aboard. In this Teamcast episode, originally aired on May 24, 2023, Preston and Reid discuss the transition from extensive training to real operations and why it is inevitably chaotic in mission critical work. Wiseman describes arriving on the ISS after four years of training and initially feeling “useless,” emphasizing mastery and learning rapidly rather than expecting perfection. They explore selection for “rate of learning,” humility, mentorship, shared situational awareness across small crews, and mission control. They also address human-machine automation, the need for human override, the integration of new team members, and curriculum elements such as small-team work in unpredictable natural environments, repeated rehearsals with failures, and getting comfortable being uncomfortable.Commander Reid Wiseman is an American astronaut, engineer, and naval aviator. He served as Chief of the Astronaut Office until November 14, 2022. He was a member of the Expedition 40/41 crew, which launched to the International Space Station on May 28, 2014, and returned on November 10, 2014.If you find value in this discussion, the best way to support our work and stay up to date on future episodes is to subscribe and leave us a quick rating or review. What steps can you take to better integrate all areas of your life? In this episode, Jeff and Mordechai discuss: How his Jewish grandparents came to follow Yeshua and how that affected his life. Making the sacrifices to follow where God is calling you. Integrating theology, life, and business. Unique challenges and truths of redemptive business in Israel. Being a successful business leader while avoiding the fate of the Rich Young Ruler. Key Takeaways: Trust in the Lord - He will take care of you, even if not the way that you expect. Business can be an effective tool to change the kingdom if you allow it to be and allow God to lead. Every human, all the time, is worshipping. The question is, who (or what) are you worshipping and what are you looking to receive on the other side? See your business as your calling. They can be the same, and are not separated. The love of money is the great snare of the human heart. As such, the successful believer can be one of the most dangerous places to be if you do not plant the foundations with God and not with your own success. "This idea that we have this bifurcated worldview, where we serve God and then we make a living, is completely un-Biblical." — Mordechai Wiseman About Mordechai Wiseman: Mordechai is a third-generation Jewish follower of Yeshua (Jesus). He is the International Director of Israel Firstfruits, Managing Director of Firstfruits Funds, and Founder of the Messianic Business Fellowship. The Firstfruits team serves the faith-driven marketplace community in Israel, composed of Jewish and Arab followers of Yeshua. We are united in our purpose to empower marketplace leaders and grow businesses in Israel to advance the Kingdom of God. Our goal is to help start and grow thousands of redemptive businesses that will employ 100,000 Israelis and positively impact 10% of Israeli society through good jobs, quality service, and a winsome witness. With nearly 30 years of international management, marketing, and technology development experience in various industries, Mordechai has served companies and non-profit organizations ranging in size from small start-ups to Fortune 500 multinationals. He obtained a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University and is also a veteran of the Israeli Defence Forces. In this episode of Behind the Stays, Zach Busekrus sits down with Scott Wiseman, CEO of Nocturne Luxury Villas, to explore what luxury vacation rental brands can learn from hotels — and where the villa category is building a playbook all its own. Drawing on leadership experience across Accor, Abercrombie & Kent, Cox & Kings, Apple Leisure Group, and now Nocturne, Scott shares a clear-eyed perspective on brand building, loyalty, service, acquisitions, and the future of luxury travel. From why recognition matters more than rewards to how Nocturne balances local brand identity with platform-scale infrastructure, this conversation is a thoughtful look at what it takes to build trust in a category where no two homes are the same. The conversation explores: What luxury hotels get right about marketing experience over function Why the tension between hotels and vacation rentals may have been overstated How Nocturne thinks about portfolio branding, local brand identity, and direct bookings What repeat rate, guest journey design, and live feedback reveal about true brand value How Scott evaluates acquisitions, luxury markets, and homeowner acquisition in an increasingly competitive landscape This is a practical, strategic conversation for anyone building, marketing, or scaling a hospitality brand in the luxury travel space.
