There's a part of the interview process almost nobody thinks about.  The emails you send after the interview. Or throughout the hiring process. Or when you get an offer. Most job candidates assume email is the safest way to communicate. Technically, it's the riskiest. I've seen candidates try to rewrite an interview in a thank you note, send multiple follow-up emails, ask important questions over email, and even negotiate compensation. Oy! Here's the problem.  Email strips away nearly everything that makes communication effective. Your tone. Not to mention your charming personality. You can't explain what you mean. Or why you're asking what you're asking.  When you need to communicate something important, email is the worst tool. When people think of the Calgary Stampede, they probably picture rodeos, chuckwagon races, the famous parade, or perhaps deep-fried Mars bars on the midway. But how about kosher pancake breakfasts, Israeli tech entrepreneurs, and the Jewish businessman who created Calgary's iconic white cowboy hat in 1949? For more than a century, Calgary's Jewish community has woven its own traditions into Alberta's “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” What began with Jewish homesteaders, ranchers and merchants has evolved into one of the busiest weeks on the Jewish community's calendar. Even before the 114th Calgary Stampede officially begins on July 3, the Jewish community has already hosted two kosher pancake breakfasts: the Calgary Jewish Academy's Mishpacha & Maple Syrup celebration June 14, while the House of Jacob-Mikveh Israel's annual community pancake breakfast held on June 27 attracted hundreds for flapjacks and pony rides. It's co sponsored by the Calgary Jewish Federation and the city's Paperny Family JCC. Still to come later this week are the annual “Spuds & Suds” gathering, co-hosted by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (CJPAC), where Jewish leaders and elected officials mingle over kosher latkes; and the Israeli Embassy's ShukTech showcase at the Stampede is also set to highlight Israeli innovation and entrepreneurship. During the entire special session of the Georgia General Assembly, Democrats managed - time and time again - to withstand GOP efforts to offer property tax cuts while putting the burden on local electeds to find ways to make up the funding gap such cuts would put on county and municipal budgts. One such locally elected official - Jimmy Furst, Chamblee city councilman - provided his thoughts in an op/ed for the Atlanta Journal Constitution - and of course, so did I.Meanwhile the chief (we're told) reason for the special session was a looming July 1st deadline to eliminate QR codes from Georgia ballots. A half-measure with no Democratic party input sought to put the task off until 2028 but also mandating hand recounts for the top two races on any ballot. Oy!- - - My hometown (Grovetown, Georgia) has changed a lot since I was a kid in the 1980s. When I was a kid, we had a former Klansman as our fire department chief. Today, Grovetown's a racially diverse thriving bedroom community of 10,000-plus with Black city council members. A former city councilperson and mayoral candidate - Ceretta Smith - is now the Democratic party nominee for Georgia's 12th Congressional district. I got to know more about the former US Army medic and national union leader about what drives her to continue to want to serve her country.

Of course, I have no proof for that, but 80 for Brady is so completely bizarre that if AI wasn't involved, I'd like to know what the filmmakers were smoking. As they start spending more time together, sparks fly. Jake helps Nikki work through her fear of singing in public, and they almost kiss — until he's interrupted by a phone call. His band's music is really taking off in the city.Soon after, Jake learns that a record label wants to meet with him. He has to go, even though it means missing the big performance. At first, Nikki asks him not to leave because she's nervous about singing again, but she ultimately encourages him to go. It's his dream.At the performance, Nikki's voice cracks at first — but she powers through. Just when it matters most, Jake shows up, and they sing together.Afterward, Jake tells her the meeting was brief: the label wants to sign them and send them on tour. But he's worked out a plan so he won't be gone for long stretches — he'll move back home and commute to the city for recording.They finally kiss.
