"Sparketype, the essential nature of work that fills you with meaning and lets you feel fully-expressed, alive with purpose and absorbed in flow ("sparked"). Your Sparketype serves as one of the single biggest clues in your quest to figure out what to do with what the poet, Mary Oliver, called your "one wild and precious life." [Source: https://www.goodlifeproject.com/sparketest/] Through years of research, Jonathon Fields identified ten main categories that define what sparks a person. He created an assessment tool to help people determine their Sparketype. A person could then use this to help them either increase the spark in their current work or to fulfil their Sparketype’s core desire by changing careers. There are ten known Sparketypes: The Maker The Scientist The Maven The Essentialist The Performer The Warrior The Sage The Advocate The Advisor The Nurturer You can do the free Sparketype test at: https://www.goodlifeproject.com/sparketest/ For full notes about this episode, check out my blog post that also has a video version of this podcast!
Today on a training I participated in online, Awaken Your Stage with Rachel Jayne Groover and Datta Groover, we were asked the question: “What would you share if you have ten minutes?” We were instructed to bring out attention to our body, drop into our belly and heart space, and to breathe. As music played in the background, we were given a few minutes to write from our hearts, without editing, without taking our pends off the page. I was a little surprised by what I wrote.: We have the power to choose how we live our life. There are ways to deal with our issues when we are triggered so that we can deal with whatever is coming up for us in the present moment. The key is to shine the light of consciousness on whatever we are feeling, without judgement, and to simply be present with it. Only then can we choose who we will respond (rather than going automatically into reaction) or even not respond at all. It can be so freeing not to live in a reactive state and to be able to choose who and when we respond. What would you share with the world if you had 10 minutes? I’d love to know. Comment below. Much love, Ayesha xox PLEASE NOTE: This was recorded Live on Facebook.
Most of us do no look like the ideal woman. We are not all barbies. Maybe we have small boobs, big boobs, hips, bellies. Short hair, long hair. What if all women felt beautiful? What if you felt more beautiful? Prettiness can diminish, but beauty can increase over time and immediately with the power of feminine presence. What is Feminine Essence? Every woman has a powerful Feminine Essence that lives within her. It’s an energetic, empowering, and magnetic quality that has nothing to do with the way you look on the outside. It’s juicy and sensual. When a woman embodies her Feminine Essence she becomes attractive, radiant, sensual, and grounded. What is Presence? Have you ever noticed that there are some women that just walk into a room and everyone notices them? They have an air of confidence that is very attractive. And then there are other women that walk into a room and no one notices them. It is as is they are invisible. If you have presence, people notice you, they remember you, they are attracted to you, they trust you. While you either have presence or you don’t, it is in fact a skill you can learn and embody. Many women experience an inner tug of war between a two-fold desire. On the one hand, they really want to be seen and heard. On the other hand, they don’t want anyone to see them and want to remain invisible. Fear often means that the cloak of invisibility wins over having presence and confidence. In this era of women juggling so many demands on their time – work, children, families, partners, aging parents, etc. – many women have disconnected from their feminine essence. If you are disconnected from your feminine essence, it affects so many aspects of your life, including attracting and keeping a passionate and lasting love, relationships of all kinds, the state of your health, fulfillment in your work, and a disquieting sense of competition with other women. The Art of Feminine Presence Classes/Workshops Empower You to: Develop a physical and energetic presence that attracts the personal and professional attention you want. Feel more comfortable with your sensuality and accepting positive attention. Experience more passion in your life, particularly your love life. Feel more comfortable and at ease setting clear boundaries with others. Look and feel more confident and radiant. Feel safe, supported and seen in a circle of women. My invitation to you is to join me for an introductory session to the Art of Feminine Presence. Much love, Ayesha PLEASE NOTE: This was recorded Live on Facebook.
My biggest secret for beautiful skin! And I didn’t have to buy anything! When I hit my 40, I felt like my skin aged overnight. It was stressful. I’d always been known for having great skin – thanks to my grandmother’s genes as well as a healthy lifestyle. But all of a sudden my skin deteriorated. I tried also sorts of creams (I spent a fortune), derma rollers, and facials. And while these all contributed to making sure my skin was a healthy as possible, they were not the thing that created the biggest change. You may already know what the secret it. Can you guess? It was sleeping on my back. When you lie on your side or on your stomach, it pushes your skin into awkward positions. And if you’re like most women, you are sleeping from 6-8 hours a night. That’s a long time for your skin to be squashed into a pillow. Now that I am technically in my mid-forties (as of last week), my skin is looking better than it did four years ago. If you struggle to sleep on your back, try doing it for a just part of the night at first. Then as you get more used to it, up the amount of time you spend lying on your back. If you have lower back pain, what I have found to be most beneficial is having a pillow under my knees. If you really must sleep on your side to be comfortable – after all there’s not point looking gorgeous if you’re in pain or don’t get enough sleep – invest in a satin or silk pillowcase. There are some very expensive ones out there, but I just got myself a cheap satin one from Spotlight. It has the added advantage of keeping your hair smooth as well. Have a wonderful day! Much love, Ayesha
Today I woke at 4am in agony. If you have ever had a diverticulitis flareup, you will know exactly what I mean. Agony. When I first had diverticulitis, I was hospitalised. It was so intensely painful, it felt as painful as childbirth (which I have experienced twice). At 6am, I ran a hot bath and went overboard with the Epsom salts, hope the heat and magnesium would help with the pain. I stayed in the bath for two hours and read Rachael Jayne Groover’s Book Powerful and Feminine, in between the more severe pain points. Interestingly the part I was reading about was when Rachael Jayne attended a Tony Robbins event for the first time. Almost as soon as the event started, so did the fire walking. Rachael Jayne was afraid of getting burnt, but she did the firewalk, chanting cool moss, cool moss, cool moss, over and over again. She walked the 15 feet and her feet did not burn. The next time Rachael Jayne went to a Tony Robbins event, she knew she would be firewalking again, and she was afraid again. She chanted cool moss in her head, but this time it didn’t work. Her feet burned. She quickly went to the first aid tent where she immediately soothed her feet in a bucket of cold water. One of the helpers said something like this to her, “Feel into this experience and see what it has to teach you?” The helper then left her, giving her space to sit with the question. What Rachael Jayne discovered from this experience was that even if she did get hurt, or burned in this case, she would be okay. So as I lay in my bath, adding more hotwater as needed, I realised that even though in this moment, it hurts like hell, I will be okay. I put the book down on my grandmother’s stool beside the bath, and I let myself truly feel the pain. I’d love to say that just the mere fact that I gave my poor stomach the attention it was clamouring for, that the pain dissolved. It didn’t. Though I have experienced instances where I have given a headache my full attention and it has abated. I’m still in pain as I write this. But I wanted to share this a’ha with you and also honour my commitment to doing Facebook live videos. So my invitation for you right now is to tune into your body and get really present with what is showing up. Scan your body from your toes up to your head. Where do you feel areas of tension and lack of flow? Where do you feel good or relaxed? Just tune in and be with whatever is present in your body. And if you are in pain, which I know many of you are, can you sit with it for a few moments without thinking of the past or projecting into the future? I have many friends with chronic illnesses that means they are in pain all day, every day. If this is you, I have to acknowledge your for keeping going. I can only appreciate the amount of energy that takes to live in pain constantly. PLEASE NOTE: This Episode was recorded Live on Facebook.
