In this sermon, Daniel Sumoge continues the series 'The Road to the Resurrection' by discussing the relationship between pain and spiritual growth. Reflecting on passages from the book of Luke, Daniel explores Jesus's journey and the immense physical, emotional, and spiritual pain He endured, emphasizing how this pain led to greater gains such as hope, healing, and redemption. The sermon encourages believers to lean into God during times of suffering, rather than retreat or seek quick fixes, and to support each other in prayer and presence. The message culminates with the importance of Jesus's sacrifice, inviting the congregation to partake in Holy Communion while remembering the love and surrender that ultimately brought salvation.00:00 Welcome and Introduction00:36 Series Overview: The Road to the Resurrection01:06 Understanding Pain: A Personal Anecdote02:08 The Concept of Pain and Gain03:29 Jesus' Spiritual Pain in the Garden of Gethsemane14:34 The Betrayal and Denial: Emotional Pain24:58 Jesus' Physical Pain and Endurance29:39 Practical Steps to Respond to Pain31:30 Communion and Closing PrayerClick here to donate to the programClick here for more sermonsOC Church of Christ

How to really know what your audience is thinking. To be a great communicator, you have to get out of your own head. But that's not all, says Matt Lieberman. According to him, you also have to get into the head of someone else.“Mind-reading is this remarkable ability that humans have,” explains Lieberman, a professor of psychology, director of UCLA's Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, and author of Social: Why Our Brains Are Wired to Connect. But even as we engage in perspective-taking, Lieberman says our attempts to mind-read often miss the mark. Instead, he advocates for “perspective-getting” — where we don't just intuit what others think, we ask them directly. “That is where more productive conversation comes from,” he says.In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Lieberman and host Matt Abrahams explore insights from social neuroscience that can help us communicate more effectively. From understanding how our brains process social interactions to recognizing our own assumptions, he reveals why successful communication requires both humility and genuine curiosity about how others see the world.Episode Reference Links:Matt Lieberman Matt's Book: Social: Why Our Brains Are Wired to ConnectEp.24 Feelings First: How Emotion Shapes Our Communication, Decisions, and ExperiencesEp.39 Brains Love Stories: How Leveraging Neuroscience Can Capture People's Emotions Connect:Premium Signup >>>> Think Fast Talk Smart PremiumEmail Questions & Feedback >>> hello@fastersmarter.ioEpisode Transcripts >>> Think Fast Talk Smart WebsiteNewsletter Signup + English Language Learning >>> FasterSmarter.ioThink Fast Talk Smart >>> LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTubeMatt Abrahams >>> LinkedInChapters:(00:00) - Introduction (02:14) - The Social Brain (05:15) - Neuroscience in Business (07:14) - The Science of Persuasion (11:46) - Social Pain & Connection (15:04) - Tackling Loneliness (17:56) - The Final Three Questions (24:01) - Conclusion ********Become a Faster Smarter Supporter by joining TFTS Premium.

In this episode, I'm diving into the real, raw, and often messy ways we handle emotions. We typically deal with them in three ways: bury them, pretend they don't exist, or actually feel them. Sound familiar? Whether you're the type to shove emotions down and “forget” about them, ignore them until they erupt at inconvenient times, or face them head-on, we're unpacking what each of these approaches really does to your mind and body. I'm sharing the hidden effects of ignoring or suppressing emotions and why allowing yourself to feel can be freeing. So, tune in and let's talk about why embracing your emotions might just be the key to unlocking a healthier, happier you. The 5D Academy with Zarathustra explores universal wisdom to foster total freedom from suffering in all areas of your life; health, wealth, love, and self. Each Academy podcast contains valuable insights and takeaways to become the best version of yourself and create an authentic, fulfilling life. Zarathustra transmits 5th Dimensional Quantum frequencies in each episode with transformational tools while discussing different topics to help you maintain this new frequency in your daily life.Zarathustra has created a practical system of transmitting the truth to his audience allowing transformation and freedom from suffering. Spiritual development requires an open heart. It is virtually impossible for a seeker to advance to higher consciousness if they don't love themselves. The belief system which has been ingrained in our cellular memory from childhood that we are not good enough results in a conditioned mind. The conditioned mind holds the false belief that there is something missing in our lives, that we are incomplete, that we need to gain something in order to become happy and whole, which is not true. After a life time of searching, Zarathustra has blended a practical system of Eastern and Western methods and techniques to help the Academy members to free themselves from anxiety, negative thoughts, lack of self-love and self-acceptance and destructive emotional patterns through a systematic way to raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency, which enables you to live a vibrant life of freedom and happiness. The Key Elements To Freedom:Zarathustra recognizes continuity and consistency are the key elements to freedom. In order to help you achieve your spiritual goals, it's best to have a highly effective spiritual practice, free of dogmas, false beliefs and superstition that helps you raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency as well as the ability to maintain this newly found higher level of consciousness. This translates to a life filled with inner peace, self-love and happiness which is the goal of every spiritual seeker.New knowledge and benefits are gained with each replay. “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” ― C.G. JungIs it true that our thoughts create our reality? Do our beliefs replay so frequently in our minds that they can manifest physically in our bodies? If you ask me and many other healers, psychologist, & spiritualists the answer is yes. What manifests in our lives and in our bodies is a direct result of our thoughts which come from our feelings/beliefs. So if you want to see a change in your outer/physical world, you gotta go with in and do some excavating. On this Identify & Heal solo episode I share about my unique healing session with the amazing Dr. Jolyn Starling. It is something that she developed to heal chronic conditions by using the inner child and unconscious/subconscious mind. It is a remarkable and thorough approach to connect with long held pain in the body to inquire as to why it is there, when it came to be there, what is keeping it from resolving, and what would it be like to let it go. These may seem like simple questions yet they can be buried beneath years (lifetimes) of fears, sadness, grief, doubts, insecurities, protection mechanisms, you name it. There are many reasons why we subconsciously produce the experience of pain and discomfort in our bodies. Luckily Dr. Starling is here to inform us and set us straight so we can end the chronic pain and regain peace. If you want to experience this healing you can contact Dr. Starling or book a session here:Dr. Jolyn Starling, www.drstarling.ca Join the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken

I met Jaime Henle at a weekend retreat I ran back in 2022 in North Carolina. Jaime had no idea what she was getting into, walking into a room with the hope of, "a relaxing weekend with meditation." Well, she did get that to some extent, but she got a LOT more. Jaime had been suffering from chronic back pain since her first daughter was born, and in retrospect, many other TMS symptoms over the years. She had never heard of me, but after only a couple hours and a single JournalSpeak session, Jaime knew she was onto something big. Join us for a wonderful story of recovery, expansion, and community. Jaime even wrote a children's book about her experience - Why Does my Body Hurt? A Children's guide to the Mind-Body Connection, and how Repressed Emotions Lead to Physical Pain. In this episode, my guest is Coleman Ruiz, a former Tier One U.S. Navy SEAL joint task force commander. He served in Afghanistan and Iraq and as a BUD/S training officer. He shares his journey from childhood through the Naval Academy to elite Navy SEAL special operations. He shares the physical and emotional challenges he has overcome and discusses his struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He also talks about the key role of mentors, family and friends in building resilience. Coleman gives us a raw, humble account of hitting rock bottom. He tells of the intense pain, fear, depression and suicidality in his journey of redemption. Coleman's story is a real-life hero's journey. He tells it with extraordinary vulnerability and humility. He explains the challenges and sudden tragedies that helped to ground, shape and renew him. His story will inspire listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
