    Who is your "ALIGNED" client?Hi. I'm Daniel Fox, business growth speaker and coach. And today we're talking about clientsIt seems like every time I start a business, it takes me a long time to really figure out who my ideal or "aligned" client is.I have wasted so much time because I was afraid to "restrict" people from doing business with me.What did I end up with? 
- People who were working with me for the wrong reasons. 
- People who didn't take our process seriously. 
- People who looked for ways out of taking responsibility
- People who would NOT likely give me a good review if they were asked.NO ONE WANTS THAT! It's a bad situation all around. Why did it happen?Because I was more interested in getting a client or their money than I was really using my intuition and values to see if they were ACTUALLY a good fit for coaching.Here's a list of restrictions that are too vague and you need to rethink if they represent most of your client requirements:- Anyone with money
- Anyone who eats food
- All men / All women / All non-gender conforming people
- Anyone who likes music
- Anyone who needs help with ____ (where the blank is a pretty general thing like "business" or "parenting"What constitutes someone who is aligned with you? How specific do you get?If you provide a personal service, you want someone who is going to be excited to work with you.     I act weird when I get out of movies.Hi. I'm Daniel Fox, business growth speaker and coach. And today I want to talk a little bit about the influences we surround ourselves with.There's this thing that happens inevitably when I'm walking back to the car with the kids or whomever I'm out with, and I'll start mimicking one of the characters in the movie.My whole affect changes. My body language, my actual language, my gait, my tone of voice, even my accent.Sometimes I can't get out of it. I get stuck in character!So listen, I know that's weird and I don't expect that everyone is as susceptible to that as me, but it's something that I've decided to consciously use to my advantage.But maybe you've heard this idea? "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." It's a Jim Rohn quote.The culmination of these two ideas inspired me to engage in an old practice of consciously curating what I take in.The conscious part comes when I start asking questions:
What are my goals? 
Do I want a life similar to the person I'm listening to (and not just money, or influence, but heart and relationships and social impact and joy)?This goes for media as well as personal relationships. I want my peers to be the most successful, biggest hearted, most joyful, smart and kind people that I can find - and that has become my standard.I absolutely will hang out with people who don't have their shit together in all those ways, and that's because I value teaching and mentoring other people, (just like I have teachers and mentors).So I keep looking at the lives of the people closest to me and the media I consume because if I'm not careful, I'll end up walking around in a diaper with a dog best friend talking in a pseudo-British accent about taking over the world and no one wants that.Wanna learn more about how to create a 6-figure business or add another 6-figures to your bottom line?     It's so important to be committed to something larger than money.Hi. I'm Daniel Fox, business growth speaker and coach.Let's talk about money for a minute. In maybe the most physical sense, when it's not numbers on a screen, money is actually paper, that we can pull out of an ATM and see and touch.Now, it's a very odd person who loves money only for the sake of actually enjoying the object and aesthetic of the bills.For most of us, money isn't actually about the money itself but what it means about us and what we can do with it.Consider that you're not actually motivated in your business by money, but either what you can do with the money, or what the money means about you.I think what people do with money can be fairly obvious. You can buy a boat and travel, you can pay rent, donate it to an important cause, anything. What you DO with money is really why you want money.There's also what having money means about us - and fewer people take the time to examine. Does it mean you've made it? Does it mean you're safe or that you can let your guard down? But there's another way I like to look at it.I like to see starting a business as a path to personal growth.The amount of risk that entrepreneurs take, the amount of exposure that innovators face by doing things that not many have tried to do, all while being in the public eye can feel enormously risky.Add to that your family and people who are counting on you for paychecks, and the pressure can be tremendous.Some people buckle - and there's actually nothing wrong with failed attempts and expansion. But some people are so convinced of the power of their vision that they find a way to change themselves in the face of the pressure.For me, this personal transformation is one of the most beautiful parts of owning a business.
