Feeling exhausted, anxious, depleted, or simply not like yourself isn't something you have to accept as the price of motherhood or getting older. Dr. Corina Dunlap has spent more than a decade helping women understand what's actually happening inside their bodies and why "this is just my new normal" deserves to be questioned. Cait and Dr. Dunlap unpack the hormones every woman should understand and how they shift through the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and beyond. They explore why support is a physiological need, not a luxury, the simple foundations that can make a meaningful difference in how women feel, and the three hormone personality types Dr. Dunlap sees repeatedly in her work: the Caretaker, Achiever, and Survivor. Key Takeaways • Why feeling worse after motherhood or as you age doesn't automatically have to become your "new normal" (10:57) • The five key hormones every woman should understand and how they influence energy, mood, sleep, strength, and more (19:35) • What actually happens to estrogen and progesterone throughout your cycle, pregnancy, and postpartum (28:20) • Why postpartum support, nourishment, sleep, and replenishment are physiological needs and not indulgences (32:36) • The Caretaker, Achiever, and Survivor hormone types and how each pattern can either support or deplete your health (42:48) About Dr. Corina Dunlap Dr. Corina Dunlap is a licensed naturopathic doctor, medical researcher, and leading expert in women's hormonal health. Most of what we call "aging" may not be about time at all. It may be a nervous system stuck in stress, quietly draining your sleep, your recovery, and your long-term health. In this episode, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon sits down with Dr. Kristen Holmes to discuss:Why the hallmarks of aging- inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular decline may be symptoms of a dysregulated autonomic nervous system, and how much of your HRV (47–65%) is genetic versus trainableHow your sleep is decided during the day, not at night, and why perceiving your day as "threatening" keeps your HRV suppressed and robs you of deep, restorative sleepThe circadian "amplitude" formula for bright days and dark nights that predicts everything from menopause symptom severity to longevity, plus the ~90 minutes of natural light almost no one getsWhy late-night eating rivals alcohol for damaging your resting physiology, and how a simple 12-hour eating window gets you most of the way thereWhy the fittest people sleep less, and how all-day movement and "exercise snacks" beat a single gym blockWhen you understand that your nervous system sits underneath your sleep, energy, and pace of aging, you stop chasing fragmented fixes and start pulling the few daily levers light, movement, meal timing, consistency that move the needle.Studies & ReferencesStress and Heart Rate Variability: A Meta-Analysis and Review of the Literature — https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5900369/How to Improve Your Circadian Rhythm with Satchin Panda PhD: https://youtu.be/gM_b4t0ARG8?si=QKfpYEAh1O5lyMw8Want ad-free episodes? In this episode of Beat Nurse Burnout, Shan sits down with Susan Ro — creator of the Aligned Leadership Method, host of the Leadership for Busy Working Moms podcast, and a woman who knows firsthand what it looks like to rebuild your life around what actually matters. Susan went from the high-energy world of New York City fashion to teaching, marriage, motherhood of four boys, and eventually to coaching and leading other women — and the thread running through all of it is a simple but radical conviction: that lasting leadership starts with leading yourself, in alignment with Christ, before it ever extends to anyone else. This episode is for the nurse who is excellent at her job and exhausted in her life. It is for the woman of faith who has confused people pleasing with godliness. It is for the high achiever who has never once thought of herself as a leader — because she has spent her entire career following someone else's agenda. In this conversation, Shan and Susan talk about: The through line God was weaving through Susan's career path that she could not see until she looked back What busy working moms and nurses have in common no matter how different their circumstances look on the outside Why leading yourself first is not selfish — and how to reframe it as the most faithful thing you can do How aligning your life to Christ functions as a leadership strategy — not just a spiritual practice — and what that changes about daily decisions, schedules, and relationships What to say to the woman who has never thought of herself as a leader because she has always been the one taking orders How people pleasing hides inside faithfulness and how to finally recognize it for what it is What stewarding your own life — your health, your time, your calling — looks like as an act of obedience rather than selfishness How to actually debrief after a hard shift or a hard day instead of just absorbing it and carrying it home How to articulate your feelings clearly — because clarity about what you are experiencing is the first step to leading yourself out of it What stepping into obedience to who God called you to be actually requires — and what it costs to keep saying no to it If you have ever felt like leadership was something you did for other people and never for yourself — this episode is going to reframe everything. A yoga philosophy episode on anger as a messenger, the practice of the pause, and how to move from reactivity to aligned action. In this episode of The Midlife Spirituality Project, we are talking about anger — an emotion many of us were taught to fear, suppress, judge, or spiritualize away. But anger is not a spiritual failure. From the perspective of yoga, anger can become part of our practice when we meet it with awareness instead of shame. Anger can show us where a boundary has been crossed, where a truth has been silenced, where a need has gone unmet, where injustice has occurred, or where we have abandoned ourselves for the sake of keeping the peace. The goal is not to let anger control our words or actions. It is also not to pretend we are too spiritual to feel it.The practice is learning how to pause, listen, and respond from the seat of the Self — the wiser, steadier part of us — rather than from the part of us that wants to defend, attack, collapse, punish, or run away.Through the lens of yoga philosophy, we explore anger as a messenger, satya as truthfulness, svadhyaya as self-study, ahimsa as non-harm toward both ourselves and others, and the sacred space between trigger and response where real transformation becomes possible. In This Episode, We Talk AboutWhether anger and spirituality can coexistWhy anger is not automatically unspiritualAnger as a messenger of truth, boundaries, and unmet needsWhy suppressing anger can turn into resentment, anxiety, or emotional shutdownThe difference between feeling anger and becoming angerHow yoga philosophy helps us pause before reactingSatya, or truthfulness, and how anger points us toward our truthAhimsa, or non-harm, as a practice that includes ourselvesSvadhyaya, or self-study, as a way to understand what anger is revealingPratipaksha bhavana, or shifting perspective when caught in anger or aversionHow to see the good without denying the harmWhy boundaries can be an expression of love and truthMoving from anger to aligned actionSteps for Working With Anger1. Notice & PauceBegin by noticing that anger is present. You might feel heat, tightness, pressure, clenching, irritation, resentment, or the urge to react. Instead of judging yourself, simply name what is happening without identifying with it:Anger is here. Before reacting, pause.Take a few deep breaths. Feel your feet. Place a hand on your heart or body. Ask for support from your higher self, God, the Divine, or whatever language feels true for you. This is the sacred space between stimulus and response.2. Fully Feel It in the Body With CompassionAnger is not just a thought. It lives in the body.Notice where you feel it. Is it in your jaw, throat, chest, belly, hands, shoulders, or back?Let yourself feel the sensation without needing to act it out or push it away. You are not trying to become the anger. You are learning to be present with it.3. Give The Body What It NeedsBefore trying to understand the anger, give your body what it needs to move, soften, or discharge the intensity. That may look like taking a walk, shaking out your hands, unclenching your jaw, stretching, crying, breathing deeply, pushing your hands into a wall, journaling, resting, stepping outside, or placing a hand on your heart and saying, I am safe to feel this.Anger carries energy. Sometimes the body needs support before the mind can access clarity. This step is not about suppressing anger. It is about helping your nervous system feel safe enough to listen.4. Listen for the MessageAsk the anger what it wants you to know.Anger may be pointing to a boundary, an unmet need, a truth you have not spoken, a place where you feel powerless, or an old wound that has been touched. The question is not only:Why am I angry? It is also:What is this anger protecting? What is this anger trying to show me?Is this mine to carry? This is the practice of svadhyaya, or self-study.Ask yourself what is really happening beneath the reaction. Is this moment only about what just happened, or is it touching something older?Seeing clearly does not mean excusing harmful behavior. It means understanding what is being activated within you so you can respond with wisdom instead of reactivity.5. Discern What Is NeededOnce you have listened, discern what action is needed.Do you need rest? A boundary? A hard conversation? Space? Repair? Honesty? Support? Grief? A change in the relationship? To let go of what isn't yours?Yoga does not ask us to bypass reality. It asks us to see clearly and act from truth.6. Choose Aligned ActionThe practice is not to deny anger. The practice is to choose a response that comes from your highest self rather than from the part of you that wants to wound, defend, punish, collapse, or explode.Aligned action may look like speaking the truth, setting a boundary, walking away, asking for repair, or choosing not to engage. You can refuse to hate someone and still refuse to be harmed by them.Reflection Questions: Your Relationship With AngerUse these questions for journaling or quiet reflection:What was I taught about anger growing up?Was anger allowed in my family, or was it punished, shamed, ignored, or feared?Who was allowed to be angry?Who was not allowed to be angry? How do I usually respond when anger arises in me?Do I express it, suppress it, intellectualize it, spiritualize it, or turn it inward?Do I trust my anger? What scares me about feeling or expressing anger?Where do I feel anger in my body? What would a healthy relationship with anger look like for me?How might my anger be asking me to stop abandoning myself?Reflection Questions: What Is Under the Anger? When anger feels strong, ask:What boundary may have been crossed? What need is not being met? What truth have I been afraid to speak?Where do I feel unseen, unheard, dismissed, or disrespected?Where do I feel powerless, trapped, or controlled? Is there a younger part of me that feels unsafe, unseen, or not enough? What would this anger say if it knew I would listen without judgment? What action would honor both my anger and my highest self?Connect With KatieIf this conversation resonated with you, I would love to invite you to continue this work with me.You can join me on Substack, where I share reflections, practices, and resources for midlife women who are ready to come home to themselves, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and move through this season with more peace, clarity, purpose, and self-trust.And if you are in your own season of transition, emotional healing, or spiritual growth and would like support reconnecting with your body, your intuition, and the deeper truth of who you are, you can visit my website or book a discovery call using the links below.SubstackInstagramWebsiteBook A Clarity Call

You can build a business that looks completely right from the outside and feel completely wrong every single day on the inside. Most people would call that success. Lacey Newman calls it misalignment. And she spent 20 years learning the difference the hard way, before walking away from the top 1% of her industry not because she failed, but because she finally could do it with her hands tied behind her back and realized she didn't want to anymore. This is Round 2 with Lacey Newman and it goes deeper. George and Lacey unpack aligned leadership from the inside out, the real cost of ignoring burnout, what self-trust actually is (and isn't), why mental white space is non-negotiable, and how AI is changing the game for high-performing women without trading the human element that makes them irreplaceable. What You'll Learn In This Episode: What aligned leadership actually means, the non-canned definition Why alignment isn't a destination and what happens when you treat it like one The real cost of misalignment: anxiety, depression, and Sunday scaries that don't go away What self-trust is and why "I trust myself to never make a mistake" is the wrong definition Why mental white space is the prerequisite for self-trust and clarity The hidden cost of wanting something and why acknowledging it is 80% of the change How AI can amplify your magic instead of diluting it Key Takeaways: ✔️Aligned leadership is when your insides match your outsides, what you do daily is a true reflection of who you are and what you want. Everything else flows from that. ✔️Alignment is not a one-time landing. You will evolve. What once aligned with who you were may no longer align with who you're becoming. That's not failure, that's growth. ✔️Burnout is information. Not a reason to burn everything down. Not something to spend or vacation your way out of. It's your body telling you something is misaligned and it deserves a real response. ✔️Self-trust is not the trust to be perfect. It's the trust that when you inevitably mess up, you'll be okay and you'll self-correct. That's it. ✔️Mental white space is not a luxury. It's how you hear yourself. You cannot build self-trust while drowning in content, calendars, and noise. ✔️If you want something but aren't moving toward it, look at the shadow side. What would having it actually cost you? 80% of change is just acknowledgement. ✔️You work through fear by working through it. Not by sitting with it. Not by being ready. There is no ready. ✔️AI should amplify your magic, not replace it. Give it your ingredients, your values, voice, and lived experience and let it handle the grunt work so you can just be the magic. In this episode, Angela Heit shows you how to Imagine Your Soul-Aligned Team. Angela Heit believes the most extraordinary businesses aren’t built by one visionary leader – they become places where many people discover and express their purpose through a shared mission. For more than 30 years, Angela has helped organizations build extraordinary teams, leading organizational change initiatives for companies including Sprint, AT&T, CIBC, BMO, Rogers, and SPAR Aerospace, while also consulting with hundreds of small businesses. She also built and sold her own multi-7-figure recruitment company, growing it from 2 to 25 team members in just 18 months. Twenty-five years ago, a spiritual awakening sparked a deeper question: Why do some teams thrive while others struggle – even with the right people and the right strategy? That question led her to integrate conscious leadership, energy and somatic practices, belief work and law attraction & manifestation, and organizational development into one transformational approach, the Aligned Team Method™Angela’s mission is to help conscious entrepreneurs build the team their soul’s work requires – creating businesses that become homes for collective purpose, where aligned people bring their gifts together in service of a shared soul-inspired vision. Pastor's Point of View Ep. 421 with Dr. Andy WoodsHeadlines Aligned with Prophecy Topics covered: Gog-Magog, Antisemitism, MOTB TechnologyProphecy is unfolding before our eyes. Israel's wealth grows, Turkey expands, anti-Semitism rises globally, and surveillance tech mirrors Revelation 13. The world is not falling apart — it is falling into place. Look up. Christ's return draws near.
Create alignment in these three areas, and you're much closer to writing and publishing a book that helps you achieve your goals. Whether you're writing personal development (self-help), professional development, memoir, or other nonfiction, you'll need to shift some things in your work and life to make it happen.Follow these simple steps to ensure you write the right book on a timeline that works best for you.In this episode, I also talk about your One Perfect Reader. This week's Career Crossroads insight is a simple sentence that changed the way I think: "Transformation can begin by remembering who you already are and allowing that truth to guide your thoughts, your decisions, and the career life you continue creating." Have you ever noticed how one difficult moment can suddenly feel like it defines everything? Or how one fearful thought can quietly turn into a belief about who you are? In this episode, I share a lesson that began with something my brother used to tell me whenever I felt overwhelmed: "Don't make it bigger than what it is, sis." That simple reminder helped me recognize that while our circumstances matter, it's often the thoughts we attach to those circumstances that shape how we experience them. As we wrap up this series on career crossroads, I explore why making an aligned decision is only part of the journey. The thoughts you continue to think after the decision is made are what help you stay connected to who you really are. I introduce the idea of PurposeMAKER™ thoughts—the thoughts that become your mental home base and help you return to deeper clarity, lasting fulfillment, and alignment with your true purpose. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: If you're facing a career decision and feel stuck, you'll learn why the most important question may not be "What should I do?" but "Who am I allowing to make this decision?" You'll discover how fear, expectations, and old conditioning can quietly pull you away from your authentic self—even after you've made the "right" decision—and how to recognize those patterns. You'll leave with a practical way to create PurposeMAKER™ thoughts that keep you grounded in who you really are, so your decisions reflect your deepest values rather than your greatest fears. I'm Dr. Robin Owens, founder of the PurposeMAKER™ framework. Through Leadership Purpose, I help high-achieving women close the Purpose Gap by making decisions and creating careers that reflect who they truly are, leading to deeper clarity, lasting fulfillment, and meaningful impact. Every once in a while you speak to someone whose story just shakes you to the core. Brian Pennie is a former heroin addict turned doctor of neuroscience and psychology, a lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, an author, an award-winning TV presenter, and the founder of Change is Possible. He lost 15 years of his life to addiction before a near-death seizure became the moment everything shifted — and what followed was one of the most profound awakenings I have heard anyone describe. In this conversation we talk about surrender, the fear of anxiety versus anxiety itself, breathwork as a daily practice, the paradox of connection, and what it means to find your other self through the greatest challenges of your life.I recorded this intro with an open heart and I think you will feel that as you listen.Connect with Brian:http://www.brianpennie.comhttps://www.instagram.com/brianpennie78/https://www.youtube.com/@brianpenniephd1073WORK WITH ME 1:1:❥Softening into self- 3 month 1:1 with Whats App Support: https://marina-yt.mykajabi.com/offers/PAWQhZHu❥❥1:1 Coaching with me: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWcZM5s9c2OjOLwoGMI5jE6rh_JAzjN2d_vCtuVe7e3pVGxw/viewformDOWNLOAD FOR FREE:Stay or Go: 5 Clarity Questions to Reconnect with Your Inner Knowing: https://marinatriner.com/stay-or-go-guideAttatchment Practice: Discover the actual blocks beneath the surface so you can actually have the deep intimacy you crave: https://marinatriner.com/attachment-practice Connect & Ground: 10 Incredible Somatic Practices for Nervous System Regulation: https://marinatriner.com/connect-and-groundAlive & Aligned: 7 Embodiment Practices For Self Connection: https://marinatriner.com/alive-and-alignedTrigger to Rooted: A step by step process of working with your triggers: https://marinatriner.com/trigger-2-rooted VIEW MY COURSES & RESOURCES:https://marinatriner.com/resources CONNECT WITH ME:Follow me on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/marinatriner/ Subscribe to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/@marinatriner Top Episode Quotes:"I fundamentally believed I needed drugs to be able to live in the world. Ryan Greenblatt is the Chief Scientist at Redwood Research, where he works on technical AI safety research. He's also lead author on the "Alignment faking in Large Language Models", and is currently working on a third party investigation into the OpenAI/HuggingFace incident. In my opinion, he's one of the most interesting thinkers on the future of AI.Had him on to discuss/debate recursive self-improvement. This might be the most important question in the world right now – whether within a year or so of achieving human-level intelligence, you slingshot towards having 10s of billions of superintelligences, each of which is dramatically more competent than human experts across all fields.I've historically been skeptical of this possibility. My intuition has been that we will end up significantly bottlenecked by not only compute scaling but human expert data, which I think underlies most of the AI progress today. If, because of RSI, we got a jump as big as GPT-3 to a Mythos (i.e. 6 years of AI progress) within a single year of achieving AGI, then the thing we get there at the end of that year is definitively and wildly superhuman. We hashed it out, and I think Ryan made a pretty good case that this kind of speedup is plausible. FWIW, Ryan's median for when we automate AI R&D is 2031.We then discussed the alignment implications of this scenario. Who should these superintelligences be aligned to? In the future, our capacity to steward our votes and our capital, and to make sense of what's happening in the world, will all be titrated by superintelligences. And I worry that specs like the Claude Constitution are not shaping these ASIs to truly be my personal advocates and guardian angels. And can we get them aligned to anything in the first place? Ryan and I had a long debate about whether the kind of reward hacking we saw with the OAI/Hugging Face hack extrapolates to superintelligences that would team up to literally take over the world. The first piece of advice you get when you're learning to drive is that it will go much smoother if you look at the horizon instead of directly in front of your tires. And so it is with the trajectory of AI. What happens when you stop writing what you think you "should" say—and start speaking from truth? In this conversation, intuitive writer and brand storyteller Marissa Polselli shares how reclaiming her voice transformed not only her confidence, but her income. From being silenced early in her career to helping heart-centered entrepreneurs turn buried gifts into magnetic brand stories, Marissa reveals how soul-aligned messaging creates connection, authority, and premium opportunities—without manipulation or burnout. If every staff disagreement eventually lands in your office, you may not have a staff-conflict problem. You may have a home-base problem. In this episode, Robyn Jackson explains why trying to get everyone to agree makes the principal personally responsible for holding the entire faculty together. Drawing on patterns from the Staff Alignment Bootcamp and findings from the 2026 Edelman Trust Barometer, she examines how growing social divisions are already showing up in schools—and why harmony is not the same as alignment. You'll discover: Why the principal becomes home base when the school's purpose is not How principals were trained to mistake agreement and visible harmony for a healthy culture Why resistant teachers often gain concessions but never experience real power How a 100% Vision, mission, and core values help a faculty navigate disagreement How to return a divided staff to home base without forcing consensus or manufacturing compliance Your staff does not have to share the same politics, personalities, experiences, or preferred strategies. They need a purpose strong enough to hold their disagreements—and a way to align their behavior with what they have collectively promised students. Modern dating has never been more connected, yet so many people have never felt more confused. In this episode prompted by Lorenzo and Julia from Love Island's appearance on This Morning, I'm joined by cultural commentator Jaz Melody for an unfiltered conversation about the realities of dating today, from exclusivity and commitment to why becoming "official" suddenly feels like such a big milestone. We unpack attachment styles, the pressure women feel to be the "cool girl," why so many people claim they're "too busy" despite having full lives, and whether that's genuine or emotional avoidance. We also explore emotional safety, love bombing, the ways men can unconsciously put women into boxes, and why so many people are outsourcing their self-worth to someone's attention, effort or validation. We dive into the rise of the "high value woman" and sugar baby narratives, whether they're empowering or limiting, before sharing our hot take on the current state of the dating economy and why dating feels more exhausting than ever. Finally, we ask one simple but powerful question that could save you months of confusion: Have you actually dated this man, or have you just been talking to him? If you've ever questioned where dating is headed, wondered why commitment feels so complicated, or wanted practical insights into building healthier relationships, this episode is for you. In this episode I sit down with Wendy Behary, one of the world's leading experts on narcissism with over 30 years of experience, founder of The Cognitive Therapy Center of New Jersey, and author of the international bestseller Disarming the Narcissist, selected by Oprah Daily as one of the top books on the subject and now in its third edition translated into 18 languages. Wendy cuts through the myths that flood the internet around narcissism, explains the real difference between narcissistic traits and narcissistic personality disorder, and shares what she has learned from three decades of sitting in the room with both narcissists and the people who love them. In this episode of The Mental Training Lab, I sit down with former All-American wrestler, performance coach, TEDx speaker, and entrepreneur Jim Harshaw to explore what it takes to unlock sustainable high performance in sport, business, and life.Jim's story starts on the wrestling mat, where early disappointment, self-doubt, and the pressure to prove himself eventually led to one of the most important mindset shifts of his career: moving from outcome obsession to process focus. That shift helped him become an All-American wrestler, and it now shapes the work he does with athletes, executives, entrepreneurs, and high performers who are trying to access the “last 10–20%” of their potential. In this conversation, we unpack why hard work alone is not always enough, how productive pauses create clarity and more effective action, and why sustainable performance requires more than just motivation. On top of all of that, Jim shares his four-part framework for peak performance. We also talk about failure, coaching, journaling, deep work, and the difference between grinding harder and taking inspired action. If you're a high performer who already works hard but still feels inconsistent, stuck, or disconnected from the process, this conversation offers a practical structure for getting aligned and performing more consistently under pressure.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Learn more about The Mental Training LabConnect with Pete on Instagram | LinkedIn | WebsiteSubscribe to the podcast on Apple | SpotifyThis show is produced and edited by the team at Palm Tree Pod Co.

In this episode, we unpack why “influencer” has become a dirty word and explore the hidden psychology behind influencer hate, online criticism, and the way women's success is judged in the digital age. We discuss whether society holds female creators to a different standard, the connection between visibility and misogyny, why women with platforms often become targets, and how we can separate valid accountability from unfair judgement. Phi dives into social media culture, female entrepreneurship, beauty and lifestyle industries, jealousy, authenticity, ambition, and why women who build careers from their voice, personality, creativity, and communities can provoke such strong reactions. Is influencer criticism really about the content, or does it reveal something deeper about how we view successful women? Rise of the Influencer Let's go back. The word influencer didn't always exist in the way it does today. Before social media, we already had people influencing culture.Celebrities influenced fashion.Athletes influenced brands.Actors sold products.Musicians created trends.Magazines told us what beauty looked like.Advertising executives literally built entire careers around influencing consumer behaviour. But when everyday people, especially women, started building businesses online through their personalities, suddenly the conversation changed.A woman creating content from her bedroom, building a community, monetising her knowledge, selling products, creating businesses, or making money through her personal brand was often dismissed.“She just posts online.”But that sentence is interesting.Because historically, women's work has often been minimised when it exists in spaces traditionally associated with femininity.Beauty.Fashion.Lifestyle.Relationships.Wellness.Community.Emotional labour.Things that women have always been doing, but society often doesn't assign the same value to. Why Does “Influencer” Feel Like a Dirty Word? think one of the reasons the word influencer has become so controversial is because it challenges traditional ideas of what “real work” looks like. There is still a belief that if you are not exhausted, struggling, or hidden behind a corporate title,
A leadership team can share the same office, attend the same meetings, and still pull the agency in different directions. Daniel Metcalf and Mike Stromsoe explore how quiet misalignment limits scalability, weakens execution, and prevents an agency operating system from taking hold. They reveal why agreement in the room is not enough and how shared standards, consistent behavior, and a clearly defined destination create the trust and momentum needed to build an agency that can grow beyond its owner.Key Topics: • The difference between leadership alignment and simply getting along • How departmental thinking creates friction for employees and customers • Why conflicting answers about agency processes reveal deeper operational gaps • The danger of leaders maintaining separate scorecards and hidden spreadsheets • How incomplete CRM data prevents leaders from making reliable decisions • Why every position must be supported by a system rather than dependent on one person • How weekly leadership meetings can produce action instead of routine check-ins • The importance of defining ownership, deadlines, and measurable success • Why leadership roles must match the behaviors required to hold others accountable • How consistent communication and follow-through strengthen trust across the agencyConnect with Daniel:LinkedInWebsiteConnect with Mike: LinkedIn TwitterLeadership alignment is not created by agreement alone. It comes from shared priorities, clearly defined responsibilities, consistent behaviors, and accountability that reaches across the entire agency. When leaders understand where the business is going, who owns each action, and how success will be measured, the agency can move faster, build trust, and scale without relying on the owner to hold everything together.
In this episode, I chat with cultural commentator Jasmine Melody after we connected over her viral TikTok unpacking Love Island UK. What started as conversations about Jasmine, Kavan and the villa quickly became a much bigger discussion about modern dating, feminism and the way we relate to one another outside reality TV. Together we explore why some men struggle to date a feminist, why women are often expected to prioritise empathy over accountability, how family upbringing and culture shape our beliefs about relationships, and what dating as feminists actually looks like in the real world. We also discuss emotional maturity, masculinity, online discourse, and why Love Island has become such a fascinating reflection of modern relationships. John Hagee calls it prophecy. The White House Faith Office treats it as orthodoxy. We call it weaponized eschatology — and it is doing real damage to the gospel, to American evangelicalism, and to real human beings on the ground. In this conversation with Tihomir Kukolja, former Executive Director of the Forum for Leadership and Reconciliation, we examine Christian Zionism from the ground up. Two things are not up for debate here: antisemitism is wrong, and Israel has a right to exist and defend herself. What IS up for debate is whether any modern nation-state — including the United States and Israel — earns a pass on justice because John Hagee drew it into a dispensational timeline.
FILE 11. Headline: The Houthi-Iran Alliance and the Fragile Conflict with Saudi Arabia Guest: Edmund Fitton Brown Summary: Edmund Fitton Brown discusses the Houthis' motivation as a revolutionary Islamic force aligned with Iran's campaign against the West. While independent-minded, they share deep ideological ties with Hezbollah. The U.S. prematurely ceased military operations against them last year due to budgetary issues and Omani pressure, failing to stop Red Sea attacks. Recently, tensions escalated as Saudi Arabia challenged Houthi attempts to establish direct flights to Iran.
Lesley Logan comes back for part three of the Permission to Change series with a look at niches, alignment, and knowing when something you built has stopped fitting. She shares how a job she carefully curated turned into her own set of velvet handcuffs, and why a life that looks good on paper can quietly start to suffocate. Using stories from her own career pivots, she explains why realigning is not the same as failing. What looks like quitting is often just proof you are ready to grow. It is a sign to get curious about what will work, so you can get back into alignment.Lesley Logan 0:13 Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousans of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:56 Hey, Be It babe, we are back with more episodes for that Permission to Change series because you requested it. You asked. We've had two already. You can go back and listen to them, or you can listen to this one. They all stand alone a little bit on their own. This one is actually because this one's a little more nuanced in that it's about niches. Niches is typically thought about as in the niche, the riches are in the niches, like what your business is, but it doesn't have to be that you're an entrepreneur and a niche could actually be a habit or a daily routine or a role in your family. So I think that there's a way too. Whenever you hear niche, you can think of alignment versus alignment, right? And so I want to talk about that. But thanks for being here, this is a solo episode week, so we'll have two episodes in our Permission to Change series. This one, and we'll have another one. They'll kind of go together, and I like doing these. I hope you like listening to them. If you hate them, let us know. If you love them, I would love to hear that too. If there's anything you want us to talk about more, we can do that as well. So I wanted to say, I think a lot of us, at the time that you're actually listening to this podcast, the age that I imagine you are, you have built stuff in your life or in your career or a daily routine, something you have created a role in your family or in your friendship group, and on paper it looks really good, and maybe even for a while, it felt really good. At some point, good things we can outgrow them, right? Can feel a little suffocated, frustrated. You want to change it. What I will say is, some of us will end up burning our whole life down, but that's not actually a good idea. Sometimes it is, but most of the time we just need to extract ourselves from the situation, like surgically remove that and evolve it. Right?Lesley Logan 2:53 I'll have a couple stories for you. So one I've told before, one I've told in different ways, different topics, but it's really applicable. So I had really created a good job for myself. The company I worked for, I was known in it. I was successful. People in power knew who I was. I'd impress them. I had a pretty locked-in schedule. I had power and control, and I could do a lot of things, right? And I was on a day off, and I saw an alert on my phone from a boss that I h a d, and it just sent me into a panic attack because while I had created, curated everything that I thought I wanted, I had been doing it for quite some time and had just gotten a little stale and suffocating and stressful, and I didn't know that you could create your own velvet handcuffs, but that's what I did. And I will say in that instance I did not blow everything up. I actually sat down with Brad and thought about, well, what do I want to do if we could snap our fingers, and then how do we carefully build that up so that I can extract myself from this thing that I've curated? Because you outgrow it. I will say that job was really great when I needed it.Lesley Logan 4:17 In 2010, I had left my full time salaried job, and I was like, "How am I going to make it?" And they're like, "Do you want this job?" And I was like, "Oh, that is how I'm going to make it. Yes." So it had been a lifeline when I needed it, for sure. And then I had created this niche for myself where it felt so great. And then there was parts of my life that I wanted to evolve, and I couldn't because of this trap that I had, my good- on- paper trap that I created. And I think it can be really difficult because we want to move faster. Ladies, w e don't want to ever be seen as a quitter. Everything should look successful, so we often don't remove ourselves from things because how can we explain that to other people? It's so embarrassing. In fact, it took me a long time to get out of a relationship with a partner that I knew a year prior to I really wanted to get out of, and a year prior to that we even took a break. But because it looked good on paper, and leaving there wasn't a good enough excuse in my ADHD brain. How am I going to do this? What are people going to say about me? All this different stuff, right? It really put me in a position where in 2013 I did blow up my life because that's the only way I felt like I had the confidence to actually get out of it. Like I had to do all of it at one time. Looking back, I probably could have done it a little differently, but I'm so grateful. You cannot take anyone's rock bottoms away.Lesley Logan 5:52 I share all this with you because, my loves, too often as recovering perfectionists and overachievers, we often are like, "Well, I said I would do this. I've been successful doing this. This is the thing that I do, so I have to keep doing it. Right?" If you always host Thanksgiving dinners, and it's become a slog, this is your permission slip to no longer host them. If you are always the one setting up dinners with all the girls, and it just feels like no one ever will do it, your full permission to stop. We are allowed to change our mind, to change what works for us, because we are changing all the time. Hello, your body is changing. Your body's changes are signs that even your desires for what feels good in your work and life will change. So we got to give ourselves those permission slips. We give them to other people. Why not ourselves?Lesley Logan 6:43 So, the thing I think about when I think of a niche is it really is meant to teach you, right? So, like data collection, right? Whatever job or project or event you did, there is data, actual data, not just vibes to go back on, and leaving my cush job that I curated for myself was not failure. I left on a high note, and a lot of people thought I was silly to leave, right? But I had this data that I have built every single studio I've ran for them. I have turned it around, so I can do that for other people. Right? So I don't need this cush job anymore because I can do that for other people with my own business that I'm creating. And after 10 years of doing that, I felt like I had to evolve again. If you have noticed the change we made at Profitable Pilates, we started doing that in 2024. Big announcement in 2025. Here we are in 2026, and we have another evolution of it. And it's not because I don't love what I'm doing and I'm not good at it. It's because how I am as a coach has changed, and so then the products that I offer have to change. But because I was in that niche, because I did it for so long, I have the data to back up that not only can I make those changes and still help people and still have an impact on people and still make it affordable for people. But I can do it and be successful at it.Lesley Logan 8:25 So when you have, when you are, whatever that role is in your family or whatever that project is you've always been doing or whatever, or that business you've been doing, you have data from every single time to show you that you're really successful doing those things, and so you can apply that success and that information and that confidence to everything else you're doing, anything else you're doing, right? And I think we can be really hard on ourselves, especially my ADHD friends, because it looks like we can be flaky because we bounce from one thing to the next. But our brain isn't, we're not flaky. Our brain is literally looking for a dopamine high. So, what I highly recommend, my ADHD loves who are listening, is if you feel like you're bouncing all around all the time and you haven't actually dug into a niche to get that data, then you do need to get systems in place. You do need to get some support from an ADHD expert who can help you put systems in place so that you can get the data from a niche, and then you can find better alignment in other places. You can apply that to where you are drawn to for better alignment. Doesn't mean you have to stick with something you don't like. No, I'm not saying that at all. But you do need to have systems in place so you can get the data, so you can get the confidence, so that you can move on. So you're not seeing yourself as a flaky person, but instead someone who has information and is making better decisions, right? There's, it's a nice way to reframe it. I do think that a lot of us are afraid to change our routines, our habits, our titles, our roles, because we are afraid of what people will think. They'll think we quit, or we must have failed, or there's something wrong with us, and so that creates like a social anxiety. We often feel like we have to figure out a way to articulate it in a way that people can understand us, but my love, that's just your perfectionist talking, because I actually think that the people who truly love and care for you don't need you to be perfect. They need you to be honest, and when you evolve, when you step into alignment, you are actually giving other people permission to do the same.Lesley Logan 10:43 So, for example, when I became a Pilates instructor, everybody told me to charge less than these other people because they've been teaching longer than me, like $5. And I was like, "That's so okay. Yeah, I get that. Like, they have more experience than me, but like I'm gonna have to work more hours to make the money I thought I could make doing this." And then I was like, "Well, who are you basing your rates off of?" And they're like, "Oh, we're basing our rates off of this person over here." And I was like, "Well, who are you basing your rates off of?" And they're basing this person over here. And I was like, "Well, when did you raise your rates last?" And they were like, "Oh, I just lowered them because of what's going on with the economy." I was like, "Holy fuck! Everyone is basing their rates off of someone who isn't even giving room for anyone to be underneath them to grow."Lesley Logan 11:26 My loves, every time you step into alignment, you are creating a permission structure for those around you, r ight? The rates I charge for sessions allow people who do have less experience than me to make a livable wage, right? So, if people around you don't understand what you're doing, one, that's okay. They're allowed to not understand. You do not have to explain it to them. And two, if they're judging you for it, they're probably not your people, right? So, permission to change friend groups, and I know it's hard as an adult. It's hard to make friends, right? It's truly difficult. There's a reason why my husband and I are best friends, and I know people think that's so weird and whatever, blah blah blah. But honestly, in today's world, for how our lives are, if he wasn't, I would probably not see my friends very much. So it's really nice. But he gets me, and I get him, and we get to give each other reminders to evolve. And hey, you're out of alignment. So the people around you should actually be like, yeah, I saw this coming, and not like, why did you do that? Because if they truly get you, they will see that you are out of alignment, and then this thing you're doing is stepping into alignment. If they are worried about how this affects them, then they'll be a little frustrated, and that's okay. They're allowed to be frustrated. You don't have to do things for other people ever. In fact, if you go back to our slowing down series, you will discover that the more you are curious, the more you are able to see what's going on around you. The easier it's for you to see, like, oh, these are my people, and oh, those aren't my people. That doesn't mean you ditch them. It just means that you don't do things for their benefit. You do things for you, and if it doesn't benefit them, it's okay. It is okay, my people pleasers. It's okay.Lesley Logan 13:27 All right, so this is a quick episode, but I just wanted to say that in your life, a lot of things that worked will stop working, and that is not a sign to force it to work. It is a sign to get curious about what will work, so you can get back into alignment. This podcast has evolved; the niche of this podcast has evolved because you have, you, the listener; me, the host. We have evolved. So, in order for this to keep working, it has to be in alignment for what we need, right? So, if you allow me to step into my alignment, you have to allow you to step into your alignment. Can't have standards for other people that we won't give to ourselves. We can't give freedoms to other people we don't give to ourselves. You are so worthy to change things that no longer feel aligned. You're allowed to extract the data from the experience you've had to build up your self-trust and your confidence, so that you know that going into this new thing, you're going to be successful over there too. Because you were successful here, you can learn new things. Look, you did it over there. Goes back to that episode with the guest we had, I believe Megan Applegate, who is like a resume builder, right? She's like, you need to take stock of all of your accomplishments, every single thing you did, even if you're a part of a team, because it's all part of helping you have self-trust and confidence that you can do new things. You can apply that to a new job, apply it to a new niche or a new role, or a new event.Lesley Logan 15:00 All right, take some stock, take some data collection time this week. We'll come back with another episode helping you find your superpower. So if you're someone who realizes you're out of alignment and you're not sure what alignment is, we're going to talk about that, so you don't have to start all the way over because that's not always ideal either. So send this to a friend who needs to hear it. And until next time, Be It Till You See It .Lesley Logan 15:20 That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. In this episode I sit down with Dave Nelson, author of The Tao of Flow and performance coach to C-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies, whose work sits at the intersection of ancient Taoist wisdom, modern neuroscience, and elite performance science. Dave shares his own burnout story — the migraines, the exploding phone, the 2500 staff and the moment his body finally said enough — and we talk about what it actually means to balance the yin and the yang in your life, why most people never experience flow state even once, and how being regulated in the nervous system is the real foundation of high performance. We also get into breathwork, meditation, the magic of doing nothing, and why playfulness is not a luxury but a biological necessity. This one surprised me in the best way — deeply practical, honest, and full of things I needed to hear.Connect with Dave:https://taoofflow.ai/Instagram.com/davenelson.officialWORK WITH ME 1:1:❥Softening into self- 3 month 1:1 with Whats App Support: https://marina-yt.mykajabi.com/offers/PAWQhZHu❥❥1:1 Coaching with me: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWcZM5s9c2OjOLwoGMI5jE6rh_JAzjN2d_vCtuVe7e3pVGxw/viewformDOWNLOAD FOR FREE:Stay or Go: 5 Clarity Questions to Reconnect with Your Inner Knowing: https://marinatriner.com/stay-or-go-guideAttatchment Practice: Discover the actual blocks beneath the surface so you can actually have the deep intimacy you crave: https://marinatriner.com/attachment-practice Connect & Ground: 10 Incredible Somatic Practices for Nervous System Regulation: https://marinatriner.com/connect-and-groundAlive & Aligned: 7 Embodiment Practices For Self Connection: https://marinatriner.com/alive-and-alignedTrigger to Rooted: A step by step process of working with your triggers: https://marinatriner.com/trigger-2-rooted VIEW MY COURSES & RESOURCES:https://marinatriner.com/resources CONNECT WITH ME:Follow me on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/marinatriner/ Subscribe to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/@marinatriner Top Episode Quotes:"High performance is yin and yang. Why is a woman's absence of a father used to explain her "behaviour," while a man's absence from his own child is barely questioned at all? In this episode, we're unpacking the exhausting double standard where women are held responsible not just for what happens to them, but for how they respond to it. Inspired by Jasmine Gaziza Müller's essay "Gateway Misogyny & Red Pill Microdosing," we dig into how small comments, jokes, and stereotypes act as a gateway to bigger beliefs about women and how the phrase "fatherless behaviour" shifts blame onto the woman carrying the wound instead of the person who left it. We talk about absence in all its forms: physical, emotional, and the quiet refusal to take accountability and why someone else always seems to pick up the slack. We also get into the strange double standard around softness: how "soft" is used to mock men for showing empathy, yet somehow becomes an insult when thrown at women too. Plus the tired "feminist vs. relationship material" myth, why gold digger accusations don't add up, and a few real tangents on friendship, independence, and the Oscar Pistorius case - Reeva Steenkamp that still sits with us. This isn't about blaming all men or excusing women's mistakes. It's about asking why we keep applying different rules depending on gender and what it would actually look like to hold everyone to the same standard of emotional accountability. Why do so many high achievers burn out? Most of us think recovery is what happens after the work is done. We push through the week, take care of everyone else, and tell ourselves we'll slow down later. But according to Dr. Kristen Holmes, Global Head of Human Performance at WHOOP, recovery isn't separate from high performance. It's an essential part of it. In this conversation, I sit down with Kristen to unpack the science behind sustainable high performance and why recovery plays a much bigger role than most of us realize. We talk about why sleep consistency matters more than sleep duration, the habits that have the biggest impact on our energy, and how to stop running on empty. By the end of this conversation, you'll have a new way of thinking about recovery and practical strategies to put into practice right away. Pre-order Kristen's new book, Aligned. In the first official Multifamily Minute episode of the newly rebranded Multifamily Hour, Axel introduces a macro economic concept that he believes every active real estate investor should be factoring into their deal-making right now: the K-shaped economy. Rather than leaving it as an abstract economic talking point, Axel translates it directly into a tactical framework for choosing deal types, building renovation scopes, and pricing rental units in today's market. This episode is essential listening for any investor currently executing or planning a value-add business plan who wants a clear, economically grounded framework for how to position their product, scope their renovations, and price their units in the current environment.Join us as we dive into:What a K-shaped economy is, real-world k-shaped examples across consumer sectors. Why businesses and investors "serving the middle" are getting squeezed — and why the same dynamic is hitting multifamily operators who are trying to push C-class product into B-class rent territory. The tactical implication for C-class deals: compete on price, do functional renovations only (life safety, curb appeal, cleanliness), and price below market to drive volume and minimize vacancy.A real example from Aligned's own portfolio: why the team moved away from $20K renovation scopes targeting $1,575–$1,600 rents and toward $15K functional scopes priced at $1,475 — with far more applications and faster lease-up as a result. The A-class play: why investors buying in truly A-class locations should go all-out on renovations — quartz countertops, tiled bathrooms, in-unit washer/dryer, smart locks, package lockers, built-in storage — because the A-class tenant is not price-sensitive and rewards a premium product with premium rent and strong renewal behavior. The short-term rental parallel: why Airbnbs that succeed are either ultra-premium (every amenity, right on the water, top-of-market pricing) or ultra-budget (high occupancy, low price) — and why the middle is where operators go to lose money.Where B-class investors fit: lean into what the B product can offer, pull C-class residents up with modest amenities and competitive pricing, and avoid over-improving a building that A-class residents won't want to live in regardless. Are you looking to invest in real estate, but don't want to deal with the hassle of finding great deals, signing on debt, and managing tenants? Have you ever known deep down that something in your life needed to change, but felt completely terrified to take the leap? This week, Jessica sits down with entrepreneur, content creator, and founder of Boxwood Avenue, Chloe Legras, to explore the transformational journey of trusting yourself enough to take aligned action even when fear and discomfort loom large. Chloe shares how a picture-perfect life on the outside masked a growing sense of misalignment within, and how years of inner work eventually led her to make one of the hardest decisions of her life: leaving a marriage, rebuilding from the ground up, and following a lifelong dream to move to France. Together, they unpack the realities of navigating uncertainty, healing childhood wounds, distinguishing intuition from fear, and learning to trust yourself without having complete certainty. This episode is a powerful reminder that your dreams are often waiting on the other side of the leap you've been afraid to take—and that you already have everything you need within you to begin. This conversation also beautifully mirrors the deeper work of becoming visible, authentic, and magnetic, which is exactly what we're exploring in the Be Seen Challenge. If this episode stirred something in you, take the kickoff quiz (also available in the TBM app) and see what's ready to transform.
