This podcast is a weekly discussion regarding HBO\'s Game of Thrones series. Jonathan and Charli will review the episode, compare it to the books and discuss how they feel it stacks up. Visit our website for news, liner notes, and to post comments.
Welcome to the final episode of the season! As promised, this episode is a round table discussion of the final episode of Game of Thrones as well as an overall commentary on the season. At almost three hours long, it was a doozie to arrange and edit (hence the delayed posting). For this episode we welcomed back Johnny C (Jon 3), Jon Too, Julia, Charli and myself. The discussion got heated at times, especially between Charli and Johnny C, but by the end of the afternoon we all came away having had a great time talking about the show. This being the last episode of Game of Thrones, we don't yet know whether or not Chat of Ice and Fire will return, but until we do we want to thank you for tuning into our little show. We have really loved putting this podcast together and hope very much that you've enjoyed listening to it. As always let us know in the comments what you think of the episode and please feel free to reach out to us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com. Welcome to episode 5 of the podcast for this season. This week I was joined again by Jon 2. It was a lively discussion, mainly focused on the internet rage over Dani's turn to the darkside. Jon 2 and I came down on the side of basically feeling that although the plot may have demanded she go bad, the turn in the show was unearned. The fanbase for the show was so incensed by this that they have actually put out a petition to redo the entire season. At last count it had over 800,000 signatures. Personally Jon 2 and I feel this is a bit of an extreme response and feel that people need to just sit back and enjoy the ride for what it is. That being said, I was not immune to feeling betrayed by the show and even went so far as to leave this episode a 2 star review on IMDB. I have since recalculated that rating to a 5 or 6, mainly due to the excellent acting, cinematography, and special effects that went into it. The question remains, can the show makeup for our collective irritation with the finale this Sunday? I really hope so. Welcome to episode 4 of the podcast for this season. This week Jonathan is joined by his friend Sabreena as they discuss one of the most contentious and lowest rated episode in Game of Thrones history. It was a lively discussion with some fair considerations given over to the show and production staff for some of the decisions made by the show runners that have the people of the internet so up in arms. Welcome to episode three of the season. This week I'm joined by my friend Julia. Both of us loved the episode, but both experience the darkness issue reported by most people over the internet. We discuss that and much more, so thanks for joining us. As a special bonus at the end of this episode we have a recording Charli made giving her impressions from watching "The Long Night" and I have a brief response to her. We hope you enjoy it. Thanks for tuning in and welcome to episode 2 of our eighth season. For regular listeners you're getting a bit of a two for one as we are publishing two episodes in the same day. This week we welcome back Jon 2 to the show. This episode was recorded in one go and I think the audio ended up much better than last week. Let us know in the comments what you think and please feel free to reach out to us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com.
Welcome back to the eighth season of the podcast and the show! It's been a long road and we want to send out a HUGE thank you to those who have stuck it out with us. And to those of you who are new to our little show, thank you for giving us a try. This episode we're trying something new. Charli has very limited availability this season so we'll be having some guests in to chat with Jonathan. We are hoping to do a big round table discussion for the last episode of the season with Charli and hopefully Alex as well. Stay tuned for that. For today's episode we welcome John 3 to the podcast. Please note that we had some audio and scheduling issues with this recording (that's part of the reason why it's being posted so late). As such, you will notice a change in John 3's audio about half way through. Please bare with us as we hopefully won't have the same issues going forward. As always, we would love to hear from you, our listeners so please reach out to us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com. Welcome to our first interseason episode of the year. Since we have to wait until 2019 for the Game of Thrones Season 8, anticipate that there will likely be a lot more of these episodes than we normally do. That is if we can coordinate meeting up to record them on a regular basis. This episode was recorded in early February but due to life has been delayed in getting out to you. As per usual we will talk about the latest news we have been able to collect from the interwebs as well as discussion topics that sprang to mind. We jump around quite a bit, it was very freeform. We have toyed with the idea of, in past seasons, of adding to the podcast by chatting about other shows that we watch. Perhaps doing a Westworld podcast or a general sci-fi discussion. We would love to hear from you, our listeners, whether that is something you would be interested in. If so please reach out to us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com. We would love to hear from you. Enjoy!
Welcome to the last episode of the regular season. This is an extra long episode due in part to the addition of a special guest host, Jon Too, who is returning from hosting last season. We also get into some heated debates throughout the show and as a result of that we will be posting some poll questions on twitter so please take some time to answer them. Thanks again for joining us this season. We will be doing some interseason episode as usual in a few months time. We would love to hear from you, our valiant listeners, so please feel free to connect with us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com. *Special note: We had some audio complaints on this episode so I have raised the volume throughout the episode to address the issue. Please let us know if the problem persists. The penultimate episode, and what a crazy adventure it was. There was a lot of the debate online this week regarding the timeline and activity in this one and we do our best to address it here. We also say goodbye to two beloved show characters, Thoros of Myr and Viserion the dragon (we hardly knew you). They will be missed! Of course, we will see Viserion again but in an eviler form, which is exciting and scary. We would love to hear from you, our valiant listeners, so please feel free to connect with us @chatoficefire on twitter, or chatoficeandfire[at]gmail[dot]com. Hi everyone. Welcome to the second episode of the new season. It was a great episode and we are very excited to talk about it. So strap in! As mentioned last episode, instead of having a spoiler section at the end of the episode, we have now decided to change that to a theories and predictions section. If you don't want to listen to that part we will give you fair warning to turn off the podcast, but if you do want to listen we welcome your feedback and thoughts.
