House of the Dragon Season 3 Finale: The Treasons at TumbletonMary and James wrap up the final episode of House of the Dragon season 3 with a mix of praise, frustration, and a lot of dragon-related chaos. They break down the finale's biggest turns, from Rhaenyra hardening into full war mode to the destruction at Tumbleton and the emotional collapse of multiple characters. This episode is mostly a heated discussion of the finale's pacing, character motivations, and whether the season's ending choices actually worked. Mary and James also reflect on how the season set up season 4, and which claimants to the throne still feel believable.Key topicsIn this episode, Mary and James open by judging the finale as a strong episode, even if not the best of the season. They compare standout moments across the season, including the Battle of the Gullet and Aegon and Sunfyre's reunion. They debate whether the finale rushed Helena's story and Aegon's turn toward brutality.Rhaenyra's reaction to Aegon's return becomes a major turning point, especially as she leans further into prophecy, symbolism, and violence. They dig into Rhaenyra sending Mysaria away, reading it as either self-protection, mistrust, or damage control.Corlys, Baela, and Alyn all get attention as the discussion covers loyalty, inheritance, and the tension between family and survival. The Harrenhal storyline gets a deep dive, including Alys Rivers' tragic backstory and the history of the castle itself.Helena's confinement, hunger strike, visions, and eventual death are discussed as one of the finale's most confusing and emotional arcs. The Tumbleton battle dominates the second half, including Ormund's strategy, Hugh's betrayal, the army's breach of the city, and the collapse of the defense. A bold, immersive, and conversation-starting adaptation that the hosts both admire and dissect.Social Media:https://www.instagram.com/watchthatjawn/https://www.tiktok.com/@watchthatjawnpodc

Noam and Jen know that 2026 is hard and scary and that everyone wants to return to 2020. But alas, we do have to discuss the things happening in 2026, like El-Sayed's very slim win in the Michigan Democrat primary for Senate. As per usual the polling was wrong. The problem is, the polling was very, very wrong and people are starting to ask questions about if that happens for less than honest purposes.  Speaking of manipulation, Twitter announced that they will be rolling out a new content creator payment system that seems designed to demonetize those who aren't providing anything of use to the platform. The requirements for both content type and metrics will be much higher than they are currently, and it sounds like the platform will be keeping a tight lid on who will qualify for payouts. Will we finally see the end of engagement slop? Will influencers who no longer meet monetization criteria stop posting? We'll find out next month! For our WAWC, we discuss season three of House of the Dragon, which aired it's season finale this past Sunday. Overall the season is a mixed bag, but we do love that Aegon is now comic relief. And that Aemond's fiancee may turn him into a toad if he tried to take Aemond from her.

The third season of the fantasy drama television series House of the Dragon premiered on HBO on June 21, 2026, in the United States, and will consist of eight episodes. The season covers the events of the book Fire & Blood, a prequel novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. The season follows in the aftermath of the second season's final episodes, in which the war known as the "Dance of Dragons" between Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen continues, causing House Targaryen to become further divided. Aegon is supported by the Green Council and his mother Alicent Hightower, while Rhaenyra is supported by the Black Council and her husband and uncle Daemon Targaryen, both sides seeking allies from the great houses of Westeros and fighting for the support of their armies to claim their rightful positions to the Iron Throne.Hosted on Ausha. Send us Fan MailWhat a way to end the season. This episode gave us what we wanted. We had a battle, there was fire, there was blood. The dragons were doing dragon sh*t. We had intrugue, traitorous behavior, and lots of deaths, including that of major characters. We now have Rhaenyra in full mad mode and we now have an uneasy alliance between Aegon and Aemond. And so much more....The way they ended this will definitely have you ready for season 4.#watchdemthrones #houseofthedragon #hbomax #blackwithnochaser #demthrones #demdragons

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 3 Finale Recap — “The Treasons at Tumbleton”The Dance of the Dragons reaches a devastating turning point in the Season 3 finale of House of the Dragon, “The Treasons at Tumbleton.”In this episode, we break down everything that happened in the finale, from the brutal Battle of Tumbleton and the shocking betrayal that changes the course of the war, to Rhaenyra's increasingly ruthless rule, Helaena's tragic fate, and the return of Aegon II and Sunfyre.FULL SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 AND FIRE & BLOOD.We start with Tumbleton, where the forces of the Blacks and Greens finally collide. The battle quickly descends into chaos as dragonriders turn on one another and Ulf the White's betrayal completely changes the outcome. We'll break down the battle, Ormund Hightower's final stand, Roddy the Ruin's role, and the devastating consequences for both sides. We'll also examine some of the finale's biggest departures from George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood. The show has significantly altered the stories of Ulf the White and Hugh Hammer, changed the circumstances surrounding Tumbleton, and restructured several major characters and events. What do these changes tell us about where the series is ultimately headed?Rhaenyra's storyline takes an especially dark turn. As her desperation to win the war grows, so does her willingness to use fear and violence. Her confrontation with the High Septon and her claim to be the “Prince That Was Promised” raise major questions about Viserys' prophecy, Targaryen mythology, and how the show is connecting the Dance to the larger story of Game of Thrones. Then there's Helaena. Her death brings one of the season's most heartbreaking stories to a tragic conclusion while dramatically changing the future of the war. We'll examine her final moments, her prophetic visions, and the major changes the series has made to her story — particularly the decision to eliminate Maelor from the adaptation.Meanwhile, Aegon II finally returns alongside Sunfyre. Once thought to be a broken and defeated king, Aegon's reemergence completely changes the political landscape. His reunion with Aemond sets up what could be one of the most important conflicts of the final season, especially after everything that has happened between the brothers. And where does this leave Alicent? With Helaena gone, Aegon back, and Aemond increasingly consumed by the war, Alicent is more isolated than ever. We'll look at where her story could be heading and how her television arc continues to diverge from Fire & Blood. Finally, we look ahead to Season 4 — the final season of the series. With the Dance entering its endgame, we'll discuss the major events from Fire & Blood that could still be adapted, including the second Tumbleton, the remaining dragon battles, Daemon's ultimate fate, Rhaenyra and Aegon's final confrontation, and the eventual collapse of the Targaryen dynasty. We'll also examine the biggest changes the show has already made — including Daemon's involvement at Tumbleton and Rhaena taking the place of Nettles — and what those alterations could mean for the ending.Has House of the Dragon been building toward the same ending as the book, or are we heading toward something completely different?Join us for our complete Season 3 finale breakdown, our comparison with Fire & Blood, and our predictions for the final season of the Targaryen civil war.

Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed a live-action The Jetsons movie starring Jim Carrey on its Q2 2026 earnings call, and Frank breaks down why the casting is doing all the heavy lifting so far. A Jetsons reboot on its own would be an easy shrug. The Flintstones already ran that play in the 90s. What makes this one different is that Carrey is in the middle of a genuine second wind, coming off the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and heading into a Grinch remake.Frank makes the case that Warner Bros. has the tools to do something stranger than a straight adaptation. Barbie proved the studio will greenlight a meta take on a legacy property, and The Jetsons is sitting on an obvious hook: the retro-futurist world the show promised in 1962 is not the future anyone actually got. Pull George Jetson into the real 2026 and let him ask where his flying car went while he stares at a Roomba. That is a movie with a reason to exist beyond nostalgia. The segment closes with a look at the rest of the earnings call, which mostly reaffirmed titles already on the books. Aegon's Conquest from the Game of Thrones universe, the next Matrix installment, and the next Batman film all sit on the same post-2027 slate as The Jetsons.Solo segment, no guest on this one.0:00 Jim Carrey lands The Jetsons0:24 The Jim Carrey second wind, from Sonic to The Grinch0:40 What a Barbie-style meta approach could unlock0:58 Making a Jetsons movie worth watching1:11 Digging through the rest of the WB earnings callJim Carrey is attached to star in a live-action The Jetsons, presumably as George Jetson, confirmed on the Warner Bros. Greetings, Nerds! Sarah and Will break down House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7, "The Dragon in Winter" — and this episode gives us three huge storylines to dig into. First, the dragon fight. Rhaena is finally cornered by Daemon, Rhaenyra, and Addam on Sheepstealer, and we talk through why watching these dragons tear into each other hit so hard — Daemon's rare moment of vulnerability with his daughter, the size disadvantage that becomes brutally clear once the fighting starts, and what it means for Rhaenyra to learn the truth about who's been under that helmet all along. Then we head to Harrenhal for Alicent and Aemond's twisted reunion. We break down how Alicent slipped past Alys Rivers to get there, the deeply uncomfortable dinner scene, and the poisoned berries that follow — plus the big debate of the episode: did Aemond know his mother was poisoning him? We lay out the case for and against, from his "I tried to kill my brother too" confession right before drinking it, to Alys's suspicious "idiot" line that has us convinced she already has a cure ready. Finally, we close on the best scene of the season: Aegon's rally cry as Sunfyre rises from the trees. We talk through why this payoff works so well. Timestamps: 0:00 — Cold Open: "Sunfyre said let them meet fire" 1:30 — The Sheepstealer Dragon Battle 6:00 — Rhaenyra Arrives & Dragon Loyalty 10:00 — Daemon's Guilt & Mommy Issues 14:00 — Corlys Captured — "Get my wife's name out your mouth" 19:00 — Aegon's Rally & Sunfyre Rises 24:00 — Allison Poisons Aemond 30:00 — Helena's Dreams & Winter Is Coming 35:00 — Rhaenyra's Hardening Rule 39:00 — Team Aegon Now? House of the Dragon Season 3 Review | FINALLY Back on Track? (Episodes 1-4)

House of the Dragon is back... and after a divisive second season, Season 3 is finally bringing the fire! In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we break down the first four episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3, discussing the biggest battles, character arcs, political intrigue, dragon action, pacing, theories, and everything that has us excited for the rest of the season. While we had plenty of criticisms of Season 2, these opening episodes feel like a major step in the right direction. The story is moving, the battles are spectacular, and the Dance of the Dragons finally feels like it's building toward the epic conclusion we've been waiting for. FULL SPOILER DISCUSSION This episode contains full spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 Episodes 1-4. In This Episode We Discuss: Our full House of the Dragon Season 3 review Why Season 3 feels much stronger than Season 2 The incredible pacing of the opening episodes Massive battle sequences and dragon action The political maneuvering between rival factions Character motivations and shifting alliances Which characters impressed us the most Why some of the cast feels less complex than previous seasons Our favorite scenes and biggest surprises The strongest action set pieces so far What still isn't working Predictions and theories for the rest of Season 3 Who we think survives... and who probably won't One of our biggest takeaways is that House of the Dragon has recaptured much of the excitement that made us fall in love with this world. The first two episodes feature phenomenal pacing, outstanding action, and some of the biggest moments we've seen since the series began. That said, we don't think everything is perfect. While the spectacle has reached new heights, some of the characters don't feel quite as layered or emotionally compelling as they did in previous seasons. They're far from one-dimensional, but many of the personal conflicts and relationships haven't resonated with us as strongly as they once did. Even with those criticisms, we're having a fantastic time watching this season unfold. These first four episodes have us genuinely excited to see how the Dance of the Dragons reaches its conclusion, and we can't wait to see where the remaining episodes take Rhaenyra, Alicent, Daemon, Aegon, Aemond, Corlys, and the rest of Westeros. Whether you're a longtime Game of Thrones fan, a reader of Fire & Blood, or simply following HBO's biggest fantasy series, this episode is packed with in-depth analysis, theories, predictions, and spoiler-filled discussion.
