Dark Vandalia - True Crime, Folklore and Paranormal

The Sheepsquatch is a cryptid mostly reported in West Virginia. Similar to bigfoot, the elusive beast is heard of mostly in tall tales, but there are several accounts of people having encounters with the creature. The monster has been witnessed in Mason and Boone counties of West Virginia and in parts of Virginia.

Random murders brought an entire region to a standstill in 2003. The people of Charleston, West Virginia were terrified to go out in public. This was thanks to the Kanawha Sniper who went on a shooting spree at multiple locations targeting people out doing mundane activities. It would be 8 years before anyone would be brought to justice for these crimes. The horrific randomness of the murders shocked a small community after seeing similar events take place in various places around the nation.

In September 1952, five boys and one woman encountered an extraterrestrial on the ground in Flatwoods, WV. The experience would change their lives forever.
