An investigation by The CITY, built from a database of more than 1,200 lawsuits filed against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, found that of the 430 street arrests it documented across the New York City area, more than 93% targeted Latinos -- far out of proportion to their share of the undocumented population. Gwynne Hogan, senior reporter covering immigration and homelessness for The CITY, and Rosalind Adams, investigative reporter for THE CITY, share their findings and what the numbers reveal about how ICE is operating across the city. Locations where White people deliberately prohibit black people from residing or even visiting illustrate what it means to be racially classified as White and the intentional White labor necessary to maintain a global system of domination. We'll discuss Montrie's 2022 publication, Whiteness in Plain View: A History of Racial Exclusion in Minnesota. This text examines how generations of Whites in this region functioned to make sure very few black people made it that for north. This text contains a great deal about minstrel shows and caging black people in insane asylums. Comment on the Show by Sending Mark a Text Message. What happens when a workplace equity agenda clashes with the rights of an employee? Join Mark Carey in this gripping episode of Employee Survival Guide® as they dissect the landmark case of Leslie Chislett vs. the New York City Department of Education (DOE), a pivotal moment in the ongoing battle against racially hostile work environment discrimination in the workplace. This episode dives deep into the intricate legal landscape of workplace equity policies, focusing on the complexities of proving systemic discrimination under federal civil rights law, specifically Section 1983 and what is a racially hostile work environment. Chislett's claims of disparate treatment, hostile work environment, and constructive discharge raise critical questions about the balance between equity initiatives and employee rights. Our hosts analyze the Second Circuit Court of Appeals' split decision that allowed Chislett's hostile work environment claim to proceed while dismissing her other claims, shedding light on the demanding legal standards of causation and the concept of municipal liability. As we navigate through the challenges Chislett faced in her pursuit of justice, we uncover the harsh realities of proving that her demotion and resignation were directly tied to race discrimination. This episode is not just about one individual's struggle; it's a wake-up call for public sector organizations to actively monitor workplace equity training and prevent hostile environments that can lead to severe employee distress and legal disputes. Listeners will gain valuable insights into the implications of this case for all employees, especially those navigating employment law issues such as retaliation, discrimination, and workplace harassment. Comment on the Show by Sending Mark a Text Message.Start with a high performer, add an ugly burst of harassment, and end with a firing justified by a $600 regulatory fine—then ask what the law actually sees. We walk through Kittle v. Mavis Tire to unpack how retaliation can survive early motions while discrimination claims stumble on doctrines like “stray remarks” and the severe or pervasive standard. The story moves from profit turnarounds and bonuses to alleged slave-era taunts, a Nazi salute, and a warning that reporting the issue would “cost you your job,” followed by a rapid transfer and termination. That tight timeline becomes the spine of a viable retaliation claim, even as the court initially dismisses the federal discrimination and hostile environment counts. We get practical about proof. Where's the link between the people using slurs and the people who made the firing decision? How do comparators work, and why do courts demand names, dates, and matching details? We also dig into the DMV waiver pretext: approved by management, paperwork allegedly in hand, and yet transformed into the official reason for termination. When Kittle amends his complaint, he does two big things—alleges behind-the-scenes influence on the decision-makers and pivots to the New York State Human Rights Law's “treated less well” standard, a crucial shift that lowers the bar for a hostile work environment claim compared with Title VII.The final turn is about technology and fairness. If a company auto-deletes audio and video after 30 days, how can anyone prove brief but severe harassment? We explore how data retention policies, legal holds, and fast reporting can make or break a case, and why retaliation claims often become the path to accountability when direct evidence of bias is thin. Listen for a clear, candid map of performance records, timelines, pretext analysis, and state-versus-federal standards—and walk away with a sharper sense of how to document, escalate, and protect yourself when the stakes are high. If this breakdown helps, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a review to support more deep dives like this. Gus has been studying the recent shooting of Maria Florinda Ríos Pérez de Velásquez, a non-white housekeeper who went to the wrong address. A 62-year-old White Man shot her to death through a closed door because he was “afraid.” Gus T. remembered the work of Racist Suspect James Loewen and correctly identified Whitestown as a Racially Restricted Region - an area where black people are forbidden. The conversation concludes with practical advice for analyzing legal problems related to land use restrictions, emphasizing the importance of understanding the balance between private agreements and public interest. In the world of property law, real covenants and equitable servitudes play a crucial role in shaping land use and ownership rights. Imagine buying a piece of land only to discover hidden restrictions that dictate how you can use it. This blog post unravels the complexities of these legal concepts, ensuring you're well-informed before making property decisions.Understanding Real Covenants: Real covenants are promises that run with the land, binding not just the original parties but also future owners. These covenants can dictate everything from building heights to the types of activities allowed on the property. For instance, a real covenant might restrict commercial activities in a residential neighborhood, preserving its character and tranquility.Exploring Equitable Servitudes: Equitable servitudes, on the other hand, are similar to real covenants but are enforced in equity rather than law. They often arise in situations where a formal covenant might not exist, yet the intent to restrict land use is clear. A classic example is a neighborhood agreement to maintain a uniform aesthetic, ensuring property values remain stable.Key Differences and Legal Implications: While both real covenants and equitable servitudes aim to control land use, their enforcement mechanisms differ. Real covenants are typically enforced through legal action, whereas equitable servitudes rely on equitable remedies. Understanding these distinctions is vital for property owners and developers to navigate potential legal challenges effectively.Real covenants and equitable servitudes are powerful tools in property law, shaping the landscape of land use and ownership. Recent attacks on members of the Indian community in Ireland are "despicable" and "diminish all of us". That's the view of President Michael D Higgins, who was speaking following recent attacks on Indians in Ireland. President Higgins condemned the attacks, saying they "stand in stark contradiction to the values that we as people hold dear". This Sunday's India Day festival at Farmleigh in Dublin's Phoenix Park will not go ahead because of fears over safety. The Indian embassy in Dublin recently warned citizens “take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially in odd hours”. Are unsavoury, racially motivated incidents against Indians confined to Dublin? Alan Morrissey was joined by Shazia Shaikh, an Indian woman living in Shannon. She says that she and her family have been the victims of racially driven bullying and anti-social behaviour.

They didn't steal. They didn't even know their victims. All they wanted was blood. By the time police figured out what they were dealing with, fifteen people were dead and the city was on the brink of collapse. We have some big news in the coming weeks… But we're giving you a chance to guess this week!Is WOKE dead in Hollywood, and is SNOW WHITE the killer? The new Snow White movie is an anti-romance, socialist nightmare, and shocker… nobody went to see it. We discuss if woke is finally dead and if Rachel Zegler is the poisoned apple that killed it.Racially diverse casting only goes one way, it seems. The vilification of white males continues in Netflix's crime drama ADOLESCENCE. We examine why the story of a black teenage knife-killer is being used to promote an anti-white-male narrative. Also, we mourn the death of the great American writer and, of course, wokeness is killing it off.Lastly, we bring you the unfortunate news that there's a new Gosnell, but hopefully not for long. Ann brings you the latest on the malpractice lawsuit against the so-called “Equity” clinic in Illinois and the horrors that “Jane Doe” had to endure at the hands of Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, and the lies that could've killed her. There are many, many Gosnells out there, and we will continue to expose them.
