For this year's annual Bowery Boys Ghost Stories podcast, Greg and Tom take a road trip to Long Island to explore the region's most famous haunted tales from legend and folklore, 'real' reported stories of otherworldly encounters that have shaped this historic area of New York state. When you think of Long Island and scary stories, your mind might immediately go to the Amityville Horror houseor perhaps even the Montauk Monster. But let us introduce you to a series of far older stories which incorporate Long Island's extraordinary history:-- The Sag Harbor Goblin: A restless soldier from the Revolutionary War period harasses the residents of this charming Hamptons retreat.-- The Wraiths of Raynham Hall: In Oyster Bay, a beloved landmark is sometimes called 'the Grand Central Station for ghosts' thanks to its population of historic spirits -- including that of a famed Revolutionary War traitor!-- The Bolt From Beyond: Winfield Hall is better known as the Woolworths Estate, best known for its eccentric owner Frank Winfield Woolworth. But the house is also known for a series of unfortunate events -- and the secrets which its marble hallways may still hold.-- Dancing In The Ghost Light: The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport celebrates 75 years of regional theater this year -- and a few ghosts have returned to join the party.-- The Hermitage of the Red Owl: A spooky tale of folklore in Brentwood, featuring a utopian community, a talking bird and the ancient, unburied bones of a warrior. This episode was produced and edited by Kieran GannonGet tickets to our LIVE Halloween show at Joe's Pub here (Oct 29-31, 2025) Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Imagine moving into a bright San Diego apartment believing the sunlight alone could keep the darkness away — only to watch your largest living-room window shatter outward in the middle of a fight, as if the house itself wanted the last word. That was just the beginning of one couple's true ghost story. What followed was a chain of eerie disturbances that seemed to grow stronger every time emotions in the home ran high. A water heater exploded without warning. A puppy growled at the same empty corner night after night. A toddler waved cheerfully at “Mama” standing on the staircase… but no one was there. Hoping to outrun the strange events, the family moved again and again — to a Spanish-style home in Temecula, to a duplex in Oceanside, even a decades-old house in Salem, Oregon. But the hauntings followed: pounding on their bed at night, phantom footsteps in the hall, a thermostat that cranked itself up to 85°, a dishwasher that started on its own, and a loyal dog who tracked something invisible from room to room. The most disturbing pattern? Every time arguments flared, the haunting intensified — as if the walls themselves were listening, feeding on conflict. This is more than a haunted house story; it's a chilling reminder that sometimes the ghosts aren't tied to a single address… they're tied to you. #TrueGhostStory #RealHaunting #HauntedHouse #ParanormalActivity #TerrifyingTrueStory #HauntedHome #GhostStories #EvilSpirits #HauntingThatFollows #CreepyDogBehavior #UnexplainedPhenomena #Ghosts Love real ghost stories? The USS Batfish, a decorated World War II submarine credited with sinking three enemy subs in just 76 hours, is now permanently docked in Muskogee, Oklahoma as a museum piece. But visitors say the steel vessel carries more than history within its hull — it carries something darker. During an October 2016 paranormal investigation under a full moon, a small team joined a local ghost-hunting group to explore the sub. At first, the EVP sessions were quiet. Then, deep in the torpedo compartment, the temperature dropped, the air grew heavy and suffocating, and the ghost box began to spit out a strange guttural voice. Hoping to clear their heads, the group stepped outside onto the lawn under the bright moonlight. That's when the ghost box erupted again — this time with haunting screams, the word “fire,” and cries of agony that sounded like echoes of sailors lost in battle. They've never returned to the Batfish — convinced it's a magnet for dark energy and a graveyard of restless voices. #HauntedSubmarine #USSBatfish #WWIIHaunting #GhostBoxVoices #DemonicPresence #HauntedOklahoma #ParanormalInvestigation #EVPsession #HistoricHauntings #RealGhostStories Love real ghost stories? Some grief leads people to desperate choices. For one teenage girl, the tragic death of her boyfriend in a motorcycle crash left her heartbroken — and she made the mistake of scooping dirt from his grave and carrying it home in her purse. What happened next terrified her. Her closet door began to creak open at night, even when she knew she had shut it. Her purse was found on the floor when it should have been hung up. A friend witnessed the same strange movements while staying the night. And her father, convinced something was deeply wrong, ordered her to throw the entire purse in a dumpster behind Burger King. From that moment, the activity stopped. The story raises eerie questions: Did the dirt bring her boyfriend's spirit home? Was it a curse? Or was the act of discarding it enough to sever a paranormal connection? It's a story that blends heartbreak with the supernatural — and proves why you should never take souvenirs from the grave. #RealGhostStories #HauntedPurse #GraveDirt #ParanormalStory #HauntedCloset #GhostStory #CreepyStories #ScaryStories #ParanormalActivity #GhostTalk Love real ghost stories? In this special nighttime edition, Ghost dives deep into breaking news of a historic peace deal between Hamas and Israel, brokered under President Trump's leadership. From Trump's 20-point plan and Netanyahu's uneasy alliance to the reactions from Mahmoud Abbas, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, Ghost unpacks every angle of what could mark the beginning of a lasting peace, or the next geopolitical storm. He explores the regional power shifts, media narratives, and implications for global stability as Trump prepares to travel to Egypt and Israel for the official signing. It's a comprehensive, fast-moving breakdown of the deal shaping the future of the Middle East.
It began with an unsettling presence in the upstairs bathroom. Every time the storyteller showered, she sensed a young girl with long black hair clutching a knife silently standing beside the tub. The girl never moved, only appeared when the storyteller's eyes were closed — a vision so vivid she showered with the curtain half-open, terrified to turn her back. The entire house carried a heavy, anxious energy. Footsteps pounded up and down the stairs at night. Shadows darted across doorways and stood in the open closet. An old man's apparition was often seen leaning over her baby brother's crib, waking him with terrified screams. The most unforgettable encounter happened one afternoon while sitting at the family computer: a female voice drifted from the stairs asking, “Are you dead yet?” Convinced she was alone, she grabbed her things and fled outside, sobbing as she called her mother. Decades later, the memories remain: the haunted bathroom, the voices, the faceless figures in the hall. Was it the land, the house itself, or something tied to her family's troubled past? #TrueGhostStory #HauntedHouse #SouthCarolinaHaunting #KnifeHoldingGhost #AreYouDeadYet #CreepyVoices #RealParanormalStory #HauntedBathroom #GhostStoriesOnline #ParanormalExperience Love real ghost stories? High school friends Evie and Kara were enjoying a normal Saturday when Kara froze and whispered, “There's somebody by your swings.” She described a teen boy in a black hoodie, long hair hiding his face, walking behind the swing set—exactly what Evie had seen before but dismissed as shadows. The next day, while standing near the swings, the air grew heavy, and they both felt watched. Evie caught a glimpse of the boy again—gliding past, vanishing in seconds. Later that night, they spotted something eerie in a photo: every shadow leaned the same way—except for a tall, thin shadow standing between the swings, facing the wrong direction. At first, the boy's presence felt strangely calm—until the pale girl appeared. One autumn evening, she stood silently between the swing chains, her light hair glowing in the dusk. The calm feeling vanished, replaced by a heavy dread that sent them running inside. Soon, there were whispers, humming, even Evie's little brother refusing to go outside, saying, “The white lady doesn't want me near the swings.” When the family finally tore down the swing set, the strange activity stopped. #Haunting #WhiteGhostLady #TrueGhostStories #GhostStories #Paranormal #ParanormalActivity #ResidualHaunting #Ghosts #Spirits #GhostPodcast Love real ghost stories? A haunted attraction designed to scare visitors for fun has discovered it's not the only thing frightening people inside. The building — once a slaughterhouse and tobacco warehouse — carries a heavy, unnerving energy that refuses to be contained by props and paint. Staff members have long reported unusual phenomena. One worker repeatedly spots a six-foot-tall shadow figure standing motionless at the end of well-lit hallways — a black, featureless silhouette with a faint glimmer along its edges. The figure never rushes or flees, but slips sideways out of sight as if aware of being watched. Not all the activity feels sinister. There's also the presence of what seems like a child spirit — playful yet unsettling. It frequently pokes one employee's girlfriend on the shoulders and tugs at her sleeves, even moving her belongings when she isn't looking. Paranormal investigators warn that entities presenting themselves as children can sometimes be something darker in disguise. Despite the unnerving encounters, the staff carry on, hoping for a formal investigation to find out who — or what — lingers inside this former slaughterhouse turned “Hell on Earth” haunted house. #HauntedSlaughterhouse #ShadowFigure #HauntedAttraction #RealGhostStory #DraggedAcrossTheFloor #ChildSpiritOrDemon #HellOnEarthHaunt #ParanormalActivity #HauntedWarehouse #TrueParanormalStories Love real ghost stories? It was supposed to be an ordinary pickup after a late-night shoot — a quiet November drive back to the city. Instead, she stood alone on the shoulder of a rural two-lane road, hugging her jacket against the cold and listening to the restless wind comb through the grass. The stars above felt distant, the darkness too close. Her driver, Sarah, was late. Sarah was young, full of laughter and reckless with speed — the kind of driver who loved the gas pedal a little too much. By 2:30 a.m., there was still no sign of her headlights. Then came the sound: the screech of tires on loose gravel, a hard swerve, the hollow boom of a car striking something massive… followed by silence. When she went to look, there was no wreckage. No dust, no headlights, just an empty road under the stars. This is the story of a late-night roadside encounter with a friend whose car never arrived — a glimpse of the newly dead still trying to understand what had happened on that curve in the road. Some hauntings don't linger in houses or objects. They appear in the dark stretches between towns, in the moments when life and death collide, and sometimes — just for a breath — they ask the living for directions home. #TrueGhostStory #RoadsideHaunting #ParanormalEncounter #RealHaunting #GlowingApparition #UnexplainedPhenomena #TragicAccident #SpiritSightings #HauntedHighway #TerrifyingTrueStory Love real ghost stories? Some hauntings start small: a shadow in the corner, a door left open, a faint sound in the night. But sometimes they build into something you can't ignore. In this unforgettable letter, a listener shares how his quiet home began to feel wrong, how his guitar strings vibrated with no one playing them, and how one night he clearly heard a voice lean close to his ear and whisper: “Groovy.” The word is bizarre. The moment is terrifying. And it's one of the strangest cases we've heard on the show. Tony, Carol, Todd, and Cathy dive into what makes this story so disturbing. They talk about how spirits can slowly pull people in, how attention fuels paranormal activity, and how “narcissistic ghosts” seem to feed off the energy of those who notice them. Carol shares her own haunting from Burlington, Iowa, where she felt a spirit grow too attached — so much so that she had to leave her apartment for good. This is the perfect example of a haunting that escalates. First, objects move. Then sounds appear. Then, suddenly, there's a voice so close it feels like someone is standing right behind you. Would you stay after that? #RealGhostStories #GroovyWhisper #HauntedGuitar #GhostVoice #CreepyStories #ScaryStories #HauntedHouse #ParanormalStory #ParanormalActivity #GhostTalk Love real ghost stories? The Mizpah Hotel has been voted the number one haunted hotel by a couple of publications. Not surprising for a hotel that has stood for 120 years. And it's been able to stand this long because this is one strong hotel. This building was formed from concrete, stone and brick in the Nevada town of Tonopah near the height of its mining boom. The lighted sign that sits on the roof can be seen from miles away. We wonder if that sign not only attracts travelers to come and stay the night, but does it get the attention of spirits as well? There are several spirits here, including a Lady in Red. Oh, and did you know that the Clown Motel is in Tonopah too. We'll talk about that as well. In the 1930s, the towns of Dana, Enfield, Greenwich, and Prescott, Massachusetts with a combined population of about 2,500 people had to disincorporate in order for the Swift River Valley to flood and form the reservoir needed for Boston's drinking water. It's the spooky season, and this week Ron's Amazing Stories takes a ride on the rails of the supernatural with two chilling tales from the classic radio series The Mysterious Traveler. Our first story, “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” (1949), plunges us into the depths with a diver who meets a ghostly visitor with a deadly ultimatum. Then we'll steam ahead with “Locomotive Ghost” (1947), where two train robbers find themselves haunted by the very engine they tried to destroy. Between stories, Ron explores why we humans love being scared — and what that says about us. If you enjoy your frights with a touch of humor and a dash of nostalgia, this episode's your ticket to ride. What You Will Hear A brief history of The Mysterious Traveler Why October brings out our love of the spooky and strange The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea – A diver faces a ghost's deadly demand (Aired Jan. 1, 1949). Locomotive Ghost – A haunting on the rails (Aired July 7, 1947). A discussion of why we love to be creeped out. A closing reflection on the enduring charm of vintage radio chills. Matt Ehret and Ghost team up with Eric Rice for a deep dive into the shadowy history of the Jesuits and their influence on world power. From their origins in the 1500s under Ignatius of Loyola to their hidden hand in modern geopolitics, the trio unpacks how this religious order became one of the most powerful and secretive forces on Earth. They explore the Jesuits' role in education, banking, and empire-building, connecting historical missions to present-day influence within governments and intelligence networks. With Matt's historical precision, Ghost's strategic lens, and Eric's philosophical perspective, this episode connects centuries of spiritual warfare, political manipulation, and global control, challenging listeners to rethink what they know about the Vatican's most enigmatic order.
Ashe in America, Ghost, and Eric Rice come together for a groundbreaking deep dive into the spiritual and geopolitical meaning of “Biblical Israel.” From the misinterpretations of Genesis 12:3 to the heresies of modern Christian Zionism, the trio unpacks how scripture, prophecy, and politics have been twisted to justify endless war and deception. They dissect the Ted Cruz–Tucker Carlson debate on Israel, examine Ezekiel 16's warnings against harlotry and idolatry, and trace how Babylonian religion still influences modern institutions, from the Vatican to AI “Jesus” apps. Through faith, history, and discernment, the hosts explore the end-times deception of unity without Christ, the rise of technocratic “Christian nationalism,” and the eternal battle between truth and counterfeit faith. Bold, convicting, and steeped in scripture, this Badlands special challenges believers to seek Christ—not religion—in the final days.
Ashe in America and Alpha Warrior, joined by Ghost, dive headfirst into the breaking Trump-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, an unprecedented move signaling a dramatic shift in global power. The trio analyzes the deeper strategy behind Trump's announcement, Netanyahu's political future, and the prophetic implications of “Israel saved for last.” They also unpack growing global instability, from Ukraine canceling elections to Burkina Faso's fight against Western espionage, and the rising tide of African sovereignty. In true Badlands fashion, the hosts weave geopolitics, history, and faith into one high-voltage discussion that connects biblical prophecy with today's headlines.

It started with phantom footsteps pounding up and down the stairwell at night, loud enough that even her stepfather heard them. Each time he opened the door, there was nothing there. One afternoon, an 11-year-old home alone laced up brand-new rollerblades and skated the hallway between the kitchen and the living room. That's when an unseen force shoved her hard from behind, sending her crashing to the floor and injuring her knee. Nights were worse. Trying to sleep, she often sensed someone sitting at the foot of the bed. One night, a cold invisible hand stroked from her head down her back — as if tucking her in. Terrified, she fled to her mother's room and refused to sleep in her own room again. Years later, after the family moved out, the mother finally confessed the apartment's grim past: a teenage girl had been shot and killed during a botched burglary in that very unit a decade earlier. Is it coincidence, residual energy, or something reaching out for attention? This is a chilling tale of childhood hauntings, a tragic history, and the lingering sense that some places never forget. #TrueGhostStory #HauntedApartment #RealHaunting #PhantomFootsteps #SpiritEncounter #RollerbladeGhost #HauntedConnecticut #GhostlyTouch #BasementLight #RealGhostStoriesOnline #HauntedChildhood #ParanormalExperience Love real ghost stories? When Mark, a hardworking mechanic trying to turn his life around, moved into a modest three-bedroom ranch with his wife Jenna, their 3-year-old son Sam, and 1-year-old daughter Ella, the first months were peaceful. But soon, small strange events began: objects vanishing and reappearing in impossible places—keys in the freezer, phones behind the couch—things they first blamed on the kids. Then the real haunting began. Sam, usually fearless, suddenly froze in the hallway one night, whispering that he saw “the man” in the kitchen. A few days later, Mark himself saw a tall, pale figure gliding past the doorway. Soon came groaning sounds in the dark hallway and their little boy crying in bed, arms outstretched, pleading: “Daddy, make the man go away.” Desperate to protect his son, Mark tried speaking out loud to whatever was there: “This is our home now. You're scaring my boy. Please leave us in peace.” But after that night, the presence felt stronger, the oppressive energy thicker. Is this merely stress and sleepless nights… or a real haunting targeting a child? From phantom footsteps and unexplained voices to a father's desperate attempts to shield his kids, this story grips you with every chilling detail. #RealGhostStory #HauntedHouse #TrueHaunting #ParanormalActivity #CreepyEncounters #FamilyHaunting #GhostStoriesOnline #Hauntings #DarkPresence #ProtectTheChildren #TrueParanormal #HauntedHallway Love real ghost stories? Some hauntings don't begin in an abandoned house — they begin in childhood. This chilling true ghost story traces back to a single unforgettable night when the storyteller was just five years old. Their mother often used a Ouija board, though they didn't understand at the time why it felt wrong. One day an older neighbor advised the mother to perform a Mexican folk cleansing ritual by placing an egg in a clear bowl beneath the bed. That same week, the family's beloved cat, Spike, was tragically hit by a car. That night, while sleeping in the mother's bed, the child woke to see Spike hobbling toward them — bloodied but alive — before slipping beneath the bed. When they leaned down to look, the cat was gone. All that remained was the egg in the bowl. For them, that was the start of everything. From ages 6 to 10 came nights of what they now recognize as sleep paralysis: waking in bed yet unable to move, a buzzing rush of dread in their ears, and the terrifying sense that something unseen was slowly approaching from the dark. Decades later, the lights are still left on at night, the shadows never fully trusted. That first night with the egg and the ghostly cat seemed to open a door that has never truly closed. #TrueGhostStory #GhostCat #RealHaunting #SleepParalysis #MexicanFolkMagic #EggUnderTheBed #ParanormalEncounters #SpiritVisitation #ShadowPeople #RealGhostStoriesOnline #HauntedSinceChildhood #GhostEncounter Love real ghost stories? Imagine sitting in your living room while your family prepares dinner, only to see a glowing blue ball of energy rise from the floor, explode in the kitchen, and light up the entire house. That's what one caller describes in this chilling account. The family was left shaken as the light filled both the kitchen and the living room in a burst so bright it felt like daylight. The story doesn't stop with the orb. Strange sounds followed: old record-player music, ghostly horse bells, and footsteps that sounded like a dog climbing stairs — even though the family dogs were right there in the living room. It's one of the most vivid and unsettling paranormal encounters we've heard. Was this ball lightning, a rare but real electrical phenomenon? Or was it something supernatural that science simply can't explain? Todd recalls his family's story of a fireball entering through a fireplace, adding even more weight to the discussion. The group explores the intersection between natural phenomena and paranormal experiences — asking whether sometimes the two are one and the same. This is the kind of story that sticks with you: strange, visual, and impossible to dismiss. If you've ever seen mysterious lights or heard unexplained sounds, this story will hit home. #RealGhostStories #BallLightning #GhostlyOrb #ParanormalLight #HauntedHouse #CreepyStories #ScaryStories #ParanormalActivity #GhostStory #ParanormalTalk Love real ghost stories?
