Escapism Or Bust!

Welcome back to our second annual Summer of EOB! Join the girls as they share stories and break bread with some new found friends; in preparation of facing some old enemies. But sometimes an enemy is just a friend you haven't committed a possibly treasonous and monumental felony for.  Speaking of monumental: This episode was just so big and juicy, we had to split it in two! Stay tuned next week for the second half of this installment, we promise you'll go absolutely ballistic over it.  Featuring: Embarrassing childhood stories, the appropriate amount of groveling, and a motherlode of tieflings 

Heading south again, our destined heroes struggle with apologies, their emotions, and each other.  Featuring: custody battles, some very bad puns, and hot tiefling oc RIGHTS.    CWs: allusions to religious violence, vomiting and panic attack (around 1 hour 30 minutes in)

Fresh off the capture and reveal of Verona—I mean, Neph—the girls are on the road again. With Ignacio Durendal’s mercenaries in tow, they’ll stumble upon a tiny hamlet full of lights, sights, and possible frights. Don’t eat the food, don’t look too close, but do be sure to stick around for the Main Event.Featuring: paella; nervous breakdowns; dragon butchery; tarot readings; and three very stupid, very destined young heroes.    CWs: gore (descriptive and brief sound effect @ around 1:12)  

Sometimes, you just can’t deal. Sometimes, it all comes crashing down on you.  Featuring: Verona Titanic and the City Chase.  CW: Unsanitary discussion

At long last, it’s time to descend to the core of the mountain—and the core of the mystery, as our heroes find some connections may lay (or strike) closer to home... Featuring: investigative journalism, opinions on interior decor, and a whole lotta heart. Content warning for non-graphic gore and body horror.

The girls continue their adventure through this seemingly endless dungeon. Now having a cursed item on hand though serves to make things a little more difficult.  Verona starts a business, Ghr’Kash did start the fire, and Verity takes a nap.  CW: Spiders 

There are skeletons in this dragon’s closet, as our destined heroes head ever deeper into the mountain and its ancient secrets.  Featuring: ghost talk therapy, the elevator music of the cosmos, and a refreshing bath.

Continuing their hunt for treasure and glory, the girls delve deeper into the haunted past of this lonely encampment. But will what they find there be shocking? Featuring: ghost romance, the perils of just grabbing things, and Cast Fireball. CW: Unsanitary discussion 

Our intrepid heroes continue their trek through the ancient mountain fortress picking up history, tchotchkes, interpersonal skills, and some killer fashion along the way.  Verity has some hymn time, Ghr'Kash helps out, and Verona, unsurprisingly, gets mad. 

Our intrepid heroes are brought once more to the Halls of Winter to receive guidance and prophecy from their godly mentors, this time in the form of more confusing metaphors. Slightly deflated from their fight against the twins, the girls set out to complete.... a favor for the citystate of Ulmit. Purely in the name of helping out. Gifted compensation highly encouraged (well, demanded). Featuring: Theatre references, loopholes, and definitely Not adventuring. 

Finally, the Nephvenom Twins' conflict comes to a head. Can the girls hack it against these famously lethal assassins? Can they muster up the willpower to keep their mouths shut when it's best for them? Will Kash get her socks back? Well, we never diss and tell. CW: guns, drowning, choking 

It's Post-Halloween, and a strange and awful team are delving into Malvak's canals on a search for treasure and enjoyment. It's up to Ciel, Geneviève, and Vittoria to withstand the many ghouls and ghosts they find there... if they don't kill each other first... Note: this episode is something of a horror story, and thus is a little heavier than our regular episodes. Specific CWs: gore, child harm/death, body horror, drowning

After Ghr'kash challenges her mortal enemy (or, rather, high school frenemy) to a duel, the girls go about their normal shenanigans and once again end up fighting. Though, this time it's not the ones you'd think.  Featuring: Children's card games; mutual bullying; and The Nephvenoms, In The Hallway, With The Dagger

Following the translation of the Winter map, the girls feel like so much still remains unexplained. Wishing to feel more accomplished, they set out to cross off more of their to-do list. Listen as they navigate negotiations, private schools, and maybe even living the high life. Maybe even two of the cast members do too, but hey, you can't prove that.  CWs: Drug use

Our final episode of the Summer of EOB! The girls, having spent their morning in the library, close their reading journey on the steps of Ulmit's archives. Cracking open the fantastically ominous Tacet Ludum, they learn a little bit more about the stipulations of their prophecy. Their book club is interrupted though when Haum'boi and Click arrive to introduce the girls to a couple of old friends. Join them as they navigate symbolism, social skills, and a surprisingly strenuous reunion.  (P.S.: You just lost the game.) 

Back from a night of revelrous dumbassery, the girls make there way into the crown jewel of Ulmit: the city's archive. Firmly anchoring themselves in the vast sea of knowledge, listen as the girls bravely face the very-soon-to-be known.   Verity studies her history; Verona studies her self; Ghr'Kash breaks into the classics. 

After a long, arduous, antic-filled journey, the girls find themselves at the gates of the fantastical city-state of Ulmit. Join them as they, in their own special brand of hijinks, take the city by storm. Ghr'Kash puts her foot in her mouth. Verona gets theatric. Verity catches up on the news.  

Continuing their trek to Ulmit the girls are accosted by ruffians! Er—well, by the end of it the ruffians seem a lot more accosted than our heroes do. Join them as they navigate tragic backstories, panic attacks, and maybe even seeking out old enemies.  CWs for very brief suicide and alcohol abuse mentions.

Our intrepid heroes finally get some well-deserved rest, and continue subtly maintaining their many covers. Verity works through some familial worries. Verona gets a new role model. Ghr'kash finally says shit.

Things go pare-shaped as the girls descend gracefully into a beautiful art exhibition and engage in some light-fingered historical revisionism. Verity provides top notch emotional DPS, Ghr'kash compares a lot of chairs, and Verona is Absolutely Fine. Content warnings for small animal death, alcohol abuse, and weed jokes.

Get ready to rumble! Following their investigation of the Newpost missing persons case, the gang takes some time to relax before enacting their rescue plan. That is, of course, after Verona and Haum’boi beat the snot out of each other. Ghr’Kash participates from the peanut gallery, Verona gets a haircut, and Verity falls to mysterious injuries. Content warning: graphic comedic violence.

The girls embark on an impromptu adventure, but will their detective instincts prove fruitful, or will they become the latest disappearances from a friendly small town? Charity appraises cutlery. Veronica constructs the BEST PLAN. Caitlín practices conflict resolution.

Kicking off our Summer Of EOB event, the girls continue their journey up north towards Ulmit. After some serious conversation, high speed chasing, and impromptu driving lessons, they find themselves in the quaint, cozy town of Newpost—though it seems at least one of our party members has been here before. Clarity tests her social skills; Veronica tests her fighting skills; Siobhán tests the art of hiding in plain sight; and they all test Boy Ham and Clack's patience.   CWs: Brief suicide mention ~49 minutes in, alcohol in the second half 

The girls begin their arduous trek to Ulmit, forging their friendship then braving forces of nature, and find solace in the home of an unexpected figure. Kash is always the critic; Verity maintains her complex relationship with the divine; and Verona has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Fresh off the destruction of Mr. Dupath's courtyard, our intrepid heroes set out to say goodbye to Malvak in the most them way possible. Verity goes to church, Verona and Kash navigate finances, and ... well, you know what they say: what happens in Malvak ...  CWs: alcohol in the last 45 minutes

Roll up, roll up, for the one everyone's all been waiting for! Featuring: the consequences of our actions, slime, and a beloved old friend.

The gang find some much needed free time amidst their chaotic adventure. Verona gets creative. Ghr'Kash dabbles in swordplay. Verity pays homage. Click.... has always been here. The whole time.

Tensions rise as the girls push on towards the Shattered Crown. The odds might be stacked against them, but they sure can fight—each other, that is. Hopefully practicing their “I” statements will help the girls against the dark forces that await them. Verona tests her throwing arm. Kash deals some serious damage. Verity, shockingly, doesn’t take advice.

Malthis - sorry, Malvak* - is a city of intrigue and commerce and cutthroat political games. The girls will need help and guidance if they're to avoid whatever it is that dogs Verona's steps and appears in cryptic visions in their dreams, but luckily it looks like they might have some very powerful friends on their side. Featuring: not-so-still lifes, the optimum pizza toppings, and one very worried Haumb'oi. * Yes, we did all mis-say this, five times. There's a lot of lore.

In which our girls finally set out to complete an actual paying legal(?) job, and discover that it's not all it's cracked up to be. Featuring: Murder in the Sewers, the world’s worst dessert, and a disappointing lack of achievements, belief, or enormous misshapen sewer lizards. (Beginning is NSFW! This episode contains themes of drowning and vomit noises at around the hour mark. Also, we drink some booze.)

Our intrepid heroes land an actual job in the picturesque, canalled city of Malvak. However, It remains to be seen how any of this will pay out. Featuring: OnyxMail, a mysterious and powerful elixir, and a shopping trip that may be a critical success?

In which our heroes make a long journey of little consequence, share their personal histories and fears and... well, we never know what Ghr'kash is doing, do we? Featuring: the criminal underworld's intramural soccer league, hot NPCs, and shinies. CWs: infanticide and child abuse (1:05), alcohol 

Zombies and plaguemares and unicorns, oh my! Can our girls manage to thwart a mysterious curse and restore life to a village, when they can’t even keep each other safe and out of sight? CWs: graphic violence and zombie gore/body horror.

The world is doomed. Or actually, the world only might be doomed. Our intrepid heroes chat with some old and new friends, make a few bad decisions, and gallantly run away. CWs: drowning, emetophobia, alcohol misuse.

Stumbling around Vlii’s catacombs, the party finds and improvises more challenges, all of them solvable through punching. Ghr'kash remains moderately calm in the face of danger. Verity excels at her chosen profession. Verona appreciates the comedic arts.  Content warning from 43:37 - 56:04 for graphic violence.

Tensions rise as the party explores the ancient, stately, potentially not even haunted catacombs of Vlli. Featuring conveniently placed bones, buttons aplenty for the pressing, and--oh, wow, that’s a whole lot of doors.

In the damp fortified town of Vlli, market day brings out a host of suspicious and novel characters. Verona receives some job offers; Ghr'kash endorses fraud; Verity gives to the community.
