A spark of madness is often the first step toward creation. On today's episode, we welcome Bojan Dulabic, a passionate Vancouver-based filmmaker who pulled off a small miracle—he made a full-length zombie movie for just $5,000. But this isn't just a story of budgeting brilliance; it's a tale of relentless passion, artistic vision, and the kind of self-taught wisdom you can't get in film school.Born in Bosnia, raised in Germany and Croatia, and finally settled in Canada, Bojan Dulabic's journey into filmmaking is stitched together by war, displacement, and a child's fascination with VHS tapes in his mother's shop. His early life sounds like something out of a global coming-of-age novel. And perhaps that nomadic upbringing seeded in him a gift for observation—a key trait in any great storyteller. When he finally turned his teenage creativity into a film project in high school, something clicked. Not just the shutter on a camera, but the internal compass of a man who knew he had to follow the path of cinema, even if it meant doing it on his own terms. This wasn't a journey paved in gold. His first feature, shot for $4,000, was a comedy that taught him the ropes. His follow-up? A feature-length zombie film titled Project Eugenics. What could have been a cliché genre dive instead becomes a thoughtful narrative on misinformation, the chaos of modern life, and yes—zombies as metaphors. “To me, a zombie flick... it's not about the zombies. It's always about something else,” Bojan reflects. In his hands, the walking dead become symbols of mass confusion, manipulation, and the blurred lines of truth in our hyper-connected world. There is a playful seriousness to Bojan's philosophy. He reveres Romero and admires Rodriguez, but he walks his own road. Like Alan Watts would muse about the dancer and the dance, Bojan seems less concerned with final outcomes and more with being in the creative flow—tripping over obstacles and finding meaning in the madness. He shares stories of juggling a wedding, a tight shooting schedule, and DIY visual effects like a magician with duct tape. His secret? A mindset that embraces “safe confusion”—a term borrowed from Tarantino—that invites the audience into mystery without losing them. What's more, Bojan brings a rare humility to the table. He speaks about his cast and crew with deep respect, understanding that low-budget filmmaking doesn't give you the license to burn out others for your dream. His actors often worked just a few days, each scene scheduled with precision. His respect for time, energy, and goodwill may be the real reason his film came together. For him, filmmaking is not just a creative act but a spiritual contract—with himself, with his collaborators, and with the audience. This podcast isn't just a technical breakdown of low-budget indie cinema. It's a spiritual blueprint for artists who feel the fire but lack the funds. Bojan's approach is radical because it's so simple: take stock of what you have, and build from there. Whether it's stock footage, free VFX plugins, or your friend's living room—use it. More importantly, finish it. Don't wait for permission. Make your movie now.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bulletproof-screenwriting-podcast--2881148/support.
Zombie films seem to have found their place in cinema. After a breakout back in the early 2000's, an over saturation almost killed off the genre. But one thing is that if you are an independent filmmaker, it is one of the best types of films to attempt. The new film ZOMBIECON, VOL. 1 (2025) is one of them and has received some good buzz. From IMDB: “A group of cosplaying friends trigger a zombie apocalypse and are forced to traverse a zombie-infested Los Angeles to save their loved one.”The film is directed by Kyle Valle, and co-written by Valle along with stars Erin Aine and Manny Luke. Besides Aine and Luke, the films cast includes Punkie Johnson, Christian Casillas, Carlo Mendez, and Nichole McAuley. Though having mixed reviews, the film has gained somewhat of a cult following because of its cosplay aspect. Your co-hosts take a look at this new film and give their thoughts.

Bigfoot Shot in the ChestIn this reflective memoir, a man recounts his grandfather Calvin's life as a skilled woodsman and hunter born in 1886 in rural Florida. After losing his logging job in the 1929 crash, Calvin became a sharecropper during the Great Depression, relying on a mule and wagon for transport. One moonlit night in Lafayette County, while walking home through sparse woods, Calvin spotted a massive, silent figure—taller and broader than any man—at a road intersection. Recognizing it as neither human nor known animal (ruling out bears or locals), he halted, challenged it to identify itself, and, receiving no response, fired two close-range shots from his .38 Special revolver into its chest. The creature, unfazed and painless, simply walked upright into the woods like a man. The next morning, Calvin and armed neighbors searched but found no tracks, blood, or signs; no reports of shootings emerged, leaving the incident unsolved. The narrator, born in 1937, grew up farming and hunting (squirrels at 10, turkeys for 64 years), served in the Army, and became a Tallahassee police officer. A lifelong skeptic of Bigfoot lore—dismissing amateur "researchers," unexplained woods sounds (attributed to hogs), hoax-prone reports with inconsistent descriptions, and claims of bulletproof creatures (countered by high-powered rifles)—he questions the "watched" sensation as fear-induced. Yet, he ponders his grandfather's impeccable character: an honest, hardened man with nothing to gain from fabricating a tale that risked his reputation and livelihood in tough times. Neighbors' belief, shown by joining the search, bolsters this. Ultimately, the narrator concludes Calvin told the truth about encountering an enormous, bipedal, otherworldly being impervious to gunfire. Though a healthy skeptic who needs to "see is believing," he admits: if Bigfoot exists, he'd rather not encounter one.Join my Supporters Club for $4.99 per month for exclusive stories:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/what-if-it-s-true-podcast--5445587/support

Welcome to MAGA Mic Drop, where we roast the rotten fruits of Leftist lunacy with facts, fun, and a flamethrower for hypocrisy. As always, there is no shortage of news that will outrage anybody with two brain cells to rub together, which of course excludes Democrats and other Leftists. I know. I won't make friends of Democrats by saying what I say about them…the TRUTH…but I don't care.Democrats think that Americans have short memories, and perhaps many do. But when you committed as many crimes as Democrats have over the past decade, Democrats will soon learn that short memories don't matter.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
This week on Slashers Podcast, we're pulling up a dusty roadside chair at the dinner table of America's most dysfunctional family: The Fireflys. As part of our Family Gorey Gathering month, we're diving into Rob Zombie's brutal, sweaty, sun-scorched nightmare The Devil's Rejects (2005). Ade, Mikey, and Lance talk about how Zombie evolved from the grindhouse carnival chaos of House of 1000 Corpses into something grimier, meaner, and disturbingly charismatic. We break down the film's cult legacy, its outlaw-country energy, and why Captain Spaulding, Otis Driftwood, and Baby Firefly became horror icons in denim, dust, and blood. We get into the film's unflinching violence, its complicated moral grime, and why some horror families stick with us like a stain you can't bleach out. Plus: Bill Moseley being strangely attractive in this film.Grab a gas-station corn dog, check the backseat, and hit play. Just remember: I am the devil, and I am here to do the podcast.

AI wrote our show notes, so here is most of what we talk about on this show Taco Bell Dessert Strategy Debate Scott and Jefry discussed the Baja Blast Pie from Taco Bell, with Scott expressing indifference towards the pie due to its unappealing color and high price. They agreed that Taco Bell should focus on reviving the Choco Taco instead of the Baja Blast Pie to truly dominate the dessert market. Jefry mentioned that he and his coworkers had been discussing the pie on Instagram, noting that reviews were generally underwhelming. The conversation concluded with a reminder for listeners to support the podcast by purchasing shirts from Pro WrestlingTees or WhatAManeuver.net, and to send emails to Fully Poseable WFP at gmail dot com. 2025 Toy Hall of Fame Inductees Jefry and Scott discussed the passing of Norman J. Lewis, co-founder of LJN, and reflected on the impact of LJN's toys and video games. They then focused on the National Toy Hall of Fame, highlighting the induction of three new toys for 2025: Battleship, Slime, and Trivia Pursuit. Jefry provided a brief history of the Hall of Fame, mentioning previous inductees and the process of selecting toys for induction. AEW Wrestling Figures Discussion Jefry and Scott discussed various wrestling figures and collectibles, including Cody Rhodes' Winged Eagle title Pillow Buddy, KWK's White Fantasy gear of the Orient Express, and Major Pod's upcoming AEW wrestler figure. They also talked about the Big Rubber Guy Edge figure available at ShopAEW.com, with a limited variant featuring Darby Allen face paint. Finally, they briefly mentioned WWE Minx Collectibles' new series of figures and the upcoming Best of Ultimate Edition Series 7, featuring AJ, Cody, and Undertaker. Failed ECW Video Game Critique Scott and Jefry discussed Hardcore Revolution, Acclaim's first ECW video game released in 2000 for multiple platforms. They criticized Acclaim for simply reusing and reskinning the WWE Attitude game rather than creating a unique ECW experience, leading to poor reviews and disappointment among fans. The game featured button combinations for moves, terrible graphics, and a basic career mode, while Acclaim's subsequent game, Anarchy Rules, was similarly lackluster. Despite the initial success of Acclaim's WWE games, Hardcore Revolution failed to capture the same magic, and Acclaim eventually went out of business in 2004, with its assets being acquired by THQ Acclaim's Revival and Gaming Future Jefry and Scott discussed the revival of Acclaim Entertainment in 2025, led by Russell Binder, Mark Kaplan, and wrestler Jeff Jarrett, with Alex Joseph appointed as CEO. They reviewed Acclaim's announcement of nine indie games, including "Katu" and "Basketball Classics," and reflected on Acclaim's past wrestling games, criticizing them for reusing the same engine and not innovating despite competition. Scott and Jefry also shared their disappointment with the ECW Hardcore Revolution game, noting its generic music, poor character animations, and lack of innovation compared to other wrestling games of the time. They briefly discussed eBay prices for various gaming cartridges and the concept of graded video games as collectibles.
