The unassailable truth of God's promise is that God answers our prayers! The biggest problem is that we rarely turn to Him to ask for our needs. Pastor Randy explains our role in prayer and the confidence we can have in God when we do pray! Listen to today's sermon to learn the power and necessity of our prayers.
If we are honest with ourselves, most Christians know Jesus about as well as we know our Facebook friends. We know Him and what He did for us. We are 'saved', but like our Facebook friends, we won't inconvenience ourselves for Him. We do not step out of our comfort zone to really get to know Him deeply. Because of this, our joy and our purpose are elusive in this world. Pastor Randy explains what it takes to really know Jesus as Savior, Lord, and true Friend. Some of the included passages: John 10:14-15; John 14; Philippians 3:7-11; Daniel 11:32; and Galatians 2:20.
Brother Andy shares a legal view of Scripture that explains God's role as judge in our world.
The Lord's Supper reminds us of Jesus' sacrificial love - the wounds, the nails, and crown of thorns He took for us. However, the Lord's Supper should also remind us that death is not the end. Jesus, who died on the cross as punishment for our sins, rose from the grave and gave us victory over death!
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7
While we may stop sinning, that is not the same as repentance. Only repentance - remorse for our sin, turning away from it, and changing our mind about it - can really restore us in our spirits! Pastor Randy clarifies the role of repentance in our lives and our relationship with God.
