    In this episode Alan spoke with Mike Turnbull who, for decades, made a living playing trombone in Las Vegas for artists such as Tom Jones, and Donnie and Marie. In 2013 he discovered he had a rare form of thyroid cancer that ultimately ended his career but It has not stopped his passion for endurance races. If anything, cancer just seems to have added fuel to the fire.

Steve started playing piano at age three and over the decades has played in “hundreds” of bands, performing everything from “garage rock to country to jazz to full-blown symphonic mayhem.” A practicing Buddhist for many years, he has looked for the sweet spot where music and meditation meet—and to connect with audiences on a level that transcends mere entertainment. At the time of this recording, Steve was more than 90 days into a personal challenge he set for himself: to record and share via YouTube one musical creation every day for a year. Some of the pieces are original, some improv, some familiar, but all are gifts he offers in the present moment.
