Following on from our first episode, looking at rape legislation in the EU and UK, we asked a panel of experts to tell us more about consent - what does it really mean? How do we know if we have it? And is it just relevant to sexual encounters? In the Netherlands, as in most EU countries, sex without consent is not considered rape — there must be proof of violence or coercion. But that could be changing. The country is set to follow in the footsteps of states like Germany, where the law includes a consent-based definition of rape.
