Harry Sherriff is a writer and filmmaker based in Manchester. This is his creative diary.
This week I talk about the highs and lows of finishing a film as well as the closeness/intimacy I think she should aim for in your work. I've been away for four weeks and there's still some recording cobwebs on me but AT LEAST listen to the last six minutes of this one because I think they'll add some value. www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
In this episode I talk about the last two shooting days of my latest short film Harry Is Not Okay. I also touch upon collaboration, filmmaking decisions and how to bring excitement to a project that might be feeling sluggish. www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
In this episode I talk about wrapping the first of three days on my latest short film. I have no doubt I sound mad in this episode. If you like this pod and haven't left a review please do so! www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff www.harrysherriff.com
I'm back! I can't believe it's been three months since I last did this. I'm sorry. Irregular scheduled podcasting will resume immediately... www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
This week I ask you to think about what is actually dictating the work you create? Is an application making you create a certain type of project or is it coming from a purer place? I think it should. I also discuss work that has recently impressed me including one of the best short films I’ve ever seen. I hope you enjoy and if you have the time please leave me a positive review, something along the lines of Best Podcast Ever. I need to start bringing home the bacon I've got a cat to feed. www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
This week I talk about applications and my frustrated relationship with them as a filmmaker. www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
This week I had the pleasure of talking to James Slater. James is a director of music videos, commercials, documentaries and short films. He's made videos for artists such as (The Coral, Blossoms, Bill Ryder-Jones, Sam Fender, Circa Waves, Jamie T...) and his short film work has screened at festivals including the BAFTA qualifying London Short Film Festival. It was great to hear about James’ humble beginnings running around Liverpool shooting videos on mini DV to where he is now. He gives his insight on pitching and so much more. In the pod we talk about James’ videos for Sam Fender - Saturday, Circa Waves, Fire That Burns, Blossoms - Your Girlfriend and Bill Ryder-Jones - Wild Roses. James’ short There Are Other Forces also gets a mention. All ace work that I recommend you watch to enhance the listen. www.harrysherriff.com www.facebook.com/harryjjsherriff
