Welcome to The Daily. We are 4 days away from beginning our next book of the Bible. We are moving to the New Testament, 1 Peter. We are going to discover how to live holy in a hostile world. Our text today is Hosea 14:5-6 I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon; his shoots shall spread out; his beauty shall be like the olive, and his fragrance like Lebanon. — Hosea 14:5-6 Most people want transformation. Few people want the process that goes with it. Because we want instant everything. Instant results, maturity, freedom, and growth. But God rarely works that way. Just notice the images in the text. Dew. Roots. Branches. Blossoms. None of those happen overnight. The dew appears quietly. Roots grow unseen. Branches spread slowly. Yet over time, life emerges where there was nothing. That's how God works in us. A lot of people get discouraged because they don't see dramatic results. They assume growth isn't happening because it isn't instant. But healthy growth is usually steady growth. You may not notice it day-to-day. But over months and years, God is growing something beautiful beneath the surface. And notice one more detail: the growth doesn't begin with human effort. It begins with God. "I will be like the dew to Israel." God supplies what is necessary for the production of life. Our role is not to manufacture growth. Our role is to stay connected to the One who yields it. That means we must stay in His Word, stay in prayer, stay in fellowship, stay surrendered, and stay faithful. Then trust Him with the timing and the fruit. Faithful believers have always discovered this. God does some of his best and deepest work where nobody can see it—in the roots under the earth, into the branches. So don't despise small amounts of progress. And as we prepare to begin 1 Peter, we're going to discover that this kind of steady, rooted growth is exactly what believers need when living in a culture that constantly pressures them to compromise. DO THIS: Take a moment today to thank God for one area where you can see growth compared to a year ago. ASK THIS: Where have I become impatient with God's process? Am I focused more on visible results or faithful obedience? What small signs of growth can I thank God for today? PRAY THIS: Father, thank you for patiently growing me. Help me trust your process, remain rooted in you, and stay faithful even when growth feels slow. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Christ In Me"

Carmen Snyder from the Gravenstein Apple Fair 2026 joins Herlinda Heras and Daedalus Howell on Brew Ha Ha. She has brought lots of goodies including an organic Gravenstein apple pie from Cameron at the Gentle Hearth. He is a local who uses his grandmother’s apple pie recipe. He will be at the 53rd annual Gravenstein Apple Fair this August 8th and 9th, selling pie by the slice. He also makes mustard and barbeque sauce. Get tickets at Eventbrite dot com at this page. The Gentle Hearth promotes Gravenstein apples by supporting local growers and maintaining pride in Sonoma County’s orchard heritage. The Gravenstein Apple Fair is the annual fund raiser for Farm Trails which promotes Sonoma County farmers, ranchers and producers. Get tickets at this page on Eventbrite dot com. The Gravenstein Apple Fair had 16,000 people in attendance last year and they only generated two cubic yards of landfill trash. This year they will have another strong roster of chefs and bakers. There will be a craft cider tent at the Fair as well as sausages and cheese from Valley Ford Cheese. ****Visit Russian River Brewing Co. in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Check out their website and socials for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more.**** Gravenstein Apple Fair Attractions Farm Trails organizes many promotions for local farmers. They hold an Apple Blossom Festival in March, then “Blossoms, Bees and Barn Babies” are seasonal tours where people can get out and meet farmers and producers on their own turf. “We want to be megaphones and cheerleaders to elevate our farmers and to promote them so that they can have greater economic viability.” Clark Wolf will also be chairing a panel about women farmers. There is a pie contest too, and perhaps Herlinda will be a judge. They have adult and youth competitions. “It’s an old-fashioned fair with a modern ethos.” The Fair is full of attractions. They have lots of arts and crafts and the music lineup is excellent. The event is August 8-9. Locals can take advantage of a deeply discounted ticket. If you buy your ticket from a local partner, the price is only $20. The piglet races are hilarious. They put four piglets into four lanes with differently colored vests. They are released onto the track and run to the food at the finish line, but sometimes they take the long way around. The audience gets split up into groups to cheer for one racer.
