Created during an apocalyptic pandemic, welcome to a bon vivant life self exiled to the mountains. I share my life, explore my thoughts, interests and experiences. Add to that, chats with people who are special to me…sharing topical interests with friends who are passionate about their interests. Perhaps, this will be a good old therapy session for all of us. Or maybe just me. You’ll have a guaranteed laugh, an occasional good cry, hear relatable topics, healthy discussions and always have a good time. Welcome to your virtual circle of new friends.
Happy Pride! To celebrate our Quarantine 2020 Pride, albeit it a little late, I'm sharing my journey of coming out at 19 years old. I'll explore what happened right before, and how things unfolded as I became more comfortable (and confident). The ups, the downs and how life becomes better with time and age.I dedicate this to the man who saved my life, the woman who taught me how to start living it and the man that became it. Joining me for Episode Five is my friend Christine McElroy, a Los Angeles native. We'll chat about Vintage L.A. in simpler times of the 1950's through 1970's, Old Hollywood movies (including a focus on Bette Davis and Judy Garland), and how many big screen stars made it to the small screen in the final days of their career. Shows like The Loveboat and Columbo were the perfect place to see some of our favorite stars.Could we recreate this today? How is current Hollywood different? Two old friends, chatting about things near and dear to their hearts from our childhood to today. Join us for a fun walk down memory lane.
Final girl. Scream Queen. LGBTQ characters. How did the 1978 film Halloween start the slasher craze of the 80's? In this episode, I am joined by my dear friend Eric, for a fun, banter filled episode of memories, thoughts and highlights of 80's horror films and beyond. Even if horror is not your thing, you'll enjoy the back and forth between two old friends walking down memory lane, including a salute to the one, and only, Jamie Lee Curtis. We also give a nod to Pride Month by talking about how far LGBTQ characters have come. It's a guaranteed fun time talking about our favorite movies, good ones and bad ones. A special thanks to Eric Aldrich for letting me pick his brain about one of our favorite topics. Enjoy!
A little about my experience and where are now with COVID-19 vs. live performances. Community Theatre is a rich part of our community. We are all hopeful we'll resume like normal at some point. Theater love to all! UPDATE: The children's theatre program I mention has been cut :-(
Kevelations was born on Mother's Day 2020. It seemed fitting to create my first, full podcast about my own mother. I think you'll like getting to know who she was. Full disclosure, the sound quality varies in this first podcast, as my eagerly awaited microphone arrived half way through production. The last half of the episode, I used my (fabulous) new mic. So bear with me, as I learn how to make this all sound better. As my mother would say..."Don't worry about it. People will understand." Let's hope that's true. This episode is an emotional journey for me. It brought laughter and tears as I recorded. I hope you enjoy it, and enjoy meeting my mother.
What is Kevelations? Who is Kevin Heath? In this introductory episode, you'll find out who your host is and why he is here.
