Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime experience, but for Courtney Guthridge and hundreds of other Penn Staters, the coronavirus pandemic cut that experience short. Guthridge spent three months juggling an abroad experience alone, a 15 hour time difference, and to possibility of being stuck in Australia indefinitely. As soon as remote learning began at Penn State after spring break, the student journalists had to start over again, with a new story about the same pandemic that tore apart their trip of a lifetime. Over the past month, the world got turned upside down. Every aspect of life at Penn State is different. Students are working from home, athletes had their seasons cancelled, and seniors lost their commencement. In this, I'm going to tell as many stories as I can. The Lions on Lockdown Podcast will tell the narrative of the coronavirus pandemic at Penn State, but will most importantly tell the stories of some of the students whose lives were impacted the most.
