Passage: Luke 2:21-35 Looking at Simeon’s devotion of the newborn Christ in Luke, we see four things: Simeon’s anticipation of Messiah, his adoration, his response, and his proclamation.

Passage: Luke 2:1-20 Western culture has redefined the story of Jesus’ birth.  You know, three wise men, Joseph and Mary at an inn, Joseph attending the birth, all that stuff.  From our text this morning we’ll get the Scriptural account, and divide it up as, The Travel, The Birth, and The Wise Men.

Passage: Luke 1:57-80 In the account of the birth of John the Baptist, his father Zachariah’s interaction in the event teaches us four things.  One, to listen to Go.  Two, to not follow the world.  Three, to praise God.  Four, to focus on Jesus.  

Passage: Luke 1:39-56 We return to the story of Jesus’ birth and observe the reactions of Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist and that of Mary, the mother of Jesus.  Three things stand out: amazement, humility, and praise.
