Everyone you meet is not always what they seem. Everyone has a unique and interesting story. Everyone took a unique path to get where they are, and these are the people and stories of how they got here.
Once again recording live after a Friday Open Mat session at the Future School of Jiujitsu, Jota Pe, Snoop and myself interview three very unlikely female Jiujittsu practitioners. We ask a lot of questions, pose a lot of theories, and get no logical answers or outcomes......... but then again, it wouldnt be Off The Mats if we actually accomplished something!
The first episode in our new recording location. We had some audio challenges in the beginning trying to figure out how to record in a remote location, but if you can hang in there, the conversation is excellent as we explore the addictive qualities of BJJ. Myself and Jota Pe are joined by Snoop for this discussion. We asked a lot of questions, came up with a lot of theories but got no answers! Classic Off The Mat!!!
No Guest this episode, just getting back after a few weeks off and an unexpected injury to Jota Pe gave us some time to catch up and talk. Somewhere along the way Jota Pe talks Erik Thor through a litany of conspiracy theories. A deal is made to have a conspiracy theory show in the future to expand on these topics, and we ordered Tin Foil Hats to keep in the studio in case any of this nonsense is true!
The second part of our interview with Nate Dropps
Nate Dropps joins us in the studio to share some of his amazing journey
Roger Allcroft is the head wrestling coach at Treasure Coast High School in Port Saint Lucie Florida. Roger Joins EThor and JotaPe to talk about the challenges of coaching young athletes in combat sports.
Thiasio Feliz is the owner and Professor at Future School of Jiujittsu in Port Saint Lucie Florida. He is also a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Father of Igor Feliz, who also Joins E-Thor and Jota Pe to talk about coming to the US, Getting started in JiuJittsu and his thoughts on his students upcoming IBJJF competition in Kissimmee Florida.
Just the unambitious ramblings of two fools in yet another wild test episode trying to learn how to be reasonably professional podcasters.
Our first episode. Erik Thor and Jota Pe just testing out the new equipment, the new studio and riffing about anything and everything while tryingto figure out how this crazy podcasting world works!
