For the very LAST episode of Season One, The Okay Keep It SexE! host, Erica Butler (@happesextalk) had the phenomenal Chris Crump (@christhecurator_; @mrsstrands) on the show to talk about the realities of sex scenes in media, the oversaturation of twerking, porn in relationships, pressures in the Black community to perform a certain way sexually to “keep ya man,” the social construct of virginity, differences in sex drives, and of course sexual pleasure! We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we did choppin it up with one another! Thanks for hangin in for the first season! Make sure to stay connected to know when Season Two drops! Okay y’all, until next time, keep it SexE!
The OKIS Podcast is back with a new episode for y'all with my girl, Monique McCrystal, who is such a genuine & calming spirit in the lives of many, I just had to get her on the podcast! Though we recorded this in May, it’s simply divine intervention of the ancestors that this episode is being released on International Self-Care Day, during #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth, & at the end of Black Maternal Mental Health Week. I mean, seriously – how perfect is this timing?! AAAANYWAYS, in our conversation, Monique & I affirm the power of mindfulness, taking time to connect with our body, clear out the noise of our surroundings, & just focus on the intimacy of the moment really has in our daily lives. Not only will these embodiment practices extend your life, but they also lead to some FABULOUS sex & intimate moments! We strongly believe that Black & Brown bodies are designed for pleasure – meaning our bodies desire freedom, joy, & pleasure far more than we allow ourselves to experience it. This brought us to the daydream of how freeing the act of releasing ALL the sexual shame, guilt, & stigma we’ve been carrying around our whole lives could truly be. Though it gets tricky when unpacking those emotions, means those generational cycles of shame & trauma must be addressed too. For some, that creates more work or causes more anxiety than it’s worth, so they just keep on pushin. However, we challenge you to consider a reality where we can both respect the ancestors, & also break through some of this generational shame around sex & pleasure – one deep breath at a time. We hope you enjoy our conversation! ❤️ There’s only one more episode in Season One of the podcast, so make sure you come back to listen!! Until then, Keep it SexE y’all!
