After cycling through Brazil, West Africa and western Europe the World By Cycle explorers Nicolas and Kristina visited bluesign technologies to capture this interview about their role in a more sustainable future for textile production. Organisations that undertake the 'bluesign system' agree at the outset to establish management systems for improving environmental performance in five key areas of the production process: resource productivity, consumer safety, water emissions, air emissions, and occupational health and safety. System partners regularly report their progress and must meet improvement goals to maintain their status.
While in Senegal our explorers Kristina and Nicolas visited an organic cotton farm project. This is a collection of some of the footage, interviews to come.
As we explore the 'Shoes and Sustainability' module of the Ride To Learn program our explorers visited designers and factories in Europe. OAT Shoes have produced a 100% biodegradable shoe, a feat which the industry thought was not possible. Hear how Christiaan Maats took on this challenge.
Whilst in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ride To Learn's explorers visited the very progressive Lumiar School. This video gives you a short taste of what the Ride To Learn project aims to do.
