Caring For Someone With Cancer

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 2, 2014 59:22

Cancer seems to have either affected us personally or atleast someone that we know like a friend or family member. Me personally, I just learned that a good girlfriend of mines was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. This is my first time actually knowing someone that I am close with, be diagnosed with cancer. You always hear about it from other person but when it hits close to home it becomes more of a sensitive matter. I wanted to do a show for more personal reasons so that I can find out what are the changes that a person goes through with cancer, the treatments such as chemo, what are the side effects of chemo and the road after one is cancer free! Phone lines will be opened at (347) 855-8637. Show starts at 7pm EST. I would love to hear from my listeners especially if you have battled cancer or know someone who is battling cancer.

In the Heart of the Ferguson Riots

I will be talking to someone who not only witnessed the riots in Ferguson, Missouri but also was apart of the Mike Brown protests. Sometimes the news doesn't cover or show us all that we need or wish to see which is why I value personal interviews from people who were actually there to experience it! So many questions from the outside looking in that needs answers. Did the media show things like they actually happened? What was the overall vibe of the people of Ferguson? Did the riots bring about a change? Did the riots cause more harm than good? Was excessive forced used by law enforcement to control the crowds fair? These are just some of the questions I have for my guest. Tune in at 7pm EST. Phone lines will be opened at (347) 855-8637. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @_beezy__

HOT TOPIC ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION!!!

So much has been going on in the world lately. Although I hate to be consumed with watching the news and hearing bad news, it still is good to be up on current events. There were a couple headlines that stood out to me. Eric Garner, the black man who died from being placed in a chokehold by the NYPD, Ray RIce and his recent suspension from playing football because of his domestic violence dispute and then there's the rape case with the 16 year old name Jada. These events have the public in an uproar. Especially all over social media, if you haven't seen one of these events spoken about you have atleast seen one. I rarely do hot topic shows but I felt this would be a good opportunity to hear what my peers think about some of these sensitive matters. Of course the phone lines will be open at 347-855-8637. Show starts at 7pm EST! I want to hear from my listeners! Don't forget to my follow my Instagram page @_beezy__ to follow my #BZTOPICS.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder develops after a terrifying ordeal that involved physical harm or the threat of physical harm. It is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you have gone through an extreme emotional trauma that involve the threat of injury or death. More often times than not, we relate PTSD to war veterans. However normal everyday people who may have been assaulted, experienced some sort of accident or disaster can be affected by this. Many of us encounter problems in life, bad experiences and injuries. Usually things that we can bounce back from without any permanent, psychological damage or set backs. As a part of mental disorder, this often times goes untalked about. This episode I have the opportunity to talk to an E6/SSG (Staff Sergeant) in the army for 7 years. Tune in as we talk about his struggles with PTSD, when he was diagnosed and did his childhood play a part in his PTSD. Phone line will be opened! Calls and questions are welcomed! Show starts at 7pm EST. (347) 855-8637
