Today I'm tackling some controversial questions around mindset, mental health and spiritual health with Mel from Manna and Hive! We chat about whether Christians should engage with affirmations, what the deal is with Christians who support manifestation (is that ok!?) and whether we should pursue happiness as Christians! Mel also provides some really practical tools for looking after yourself and your mental health in the little pockets of time in your day. I love the concept of minimalism - not having more than you need and being intentional about the things you bring into your home. But a quick image search on Pinterest of what that actually looks like for a lot of people put me off pretty dang quickly! And thus, cozy minimalism was born! Ok ok, I'm probably not the first person to coin the phrase but for me it really sums up how I feel about managing our home. I love to be intentional and not have more than we need, but I also like our home to feel welcoming and cozy - which means a certain amount of 'clutter' items or decor. In this episode, I go over my philosophy for cozy minimalism, how it can benefit you (in life and in business) and how to go about embarking on your own cozy minimalism journey! Ultimately - you need less than you think. you can own less than you think, but don't get rid of things you may regret later just because you're frazzled and stressed out by your space.
In a world of hustle culture, I stand passionately for a business and life built on boundaries and intention! I wholeheartedly believe that to thrive as women, we need to be taking time to audit where we spend out energy so that we do not sucumb to burnout - but I haven't always been this way. You see, when I first set foot into the online business world I fully bought into hustle culture. I thought that if I wasn't completely and utterly exhausted by the end of the day, if I wasn't willing to stay up until midnight to get things done... well then I simply didn't want it bad enough and therefore wouldn't succeed. I so wish I had someone telling me then what I know now - a lack of boundaries and intention will lead to (or increase) your burnout - something I am all too familiar with. I experienced a lot of trauma in my childhood and into my early 20s and as I entered my 20s I was in full fledged stress burnout/adrenal fatigue... whatever you want to call it, I wasn't ok. It wasn't until 2019 that I started to understand exactly why my body wasn't functioning and it's been a long but incredibly rewarding road from there to where I am now - with a greater appreication and understanding of how to live a balanced life without saying no to business and success! In this episode of the podcast I take you on my journey and basically introduce myself to you! I hope you enjoy x
